I have just moved and have setup my internet. Luckily I can use the same name and password as my previous service. For so so setup do I need to do anything or will it just work if I plug it all in?
This seems like a really stupid question. But then, my old boss used to say “There are no stupid questions. There are only stupid people asking questions.” First, I am obviously logged in, or I would not be able to create this topic. But second, I do not see any way to reply to someone else’s post. I do not see a reply button or any hint of where to look for one. Given the hundreds of thousands of replies here there must be a way. Anyone? Bueller?
As my 5 room system is now little more than a very expensive bluetooth player, will I receive any compensation from Sonos. My system does not now do the very thing that I bought it for - to be able to search and play my local library.Had I been told by Sonos that the new app would not have this functionality, I would not have upgraded. But as the system (due to Sonos) now has different functionality, then surely the company should do something about it. I am told that this functionality is delayed due to the beta testing, well here's an idea guess, maybe you should have beta tested this new app before releasing it to the wider community ?
We have 5 Sonos speakers and used to be able to access my 65 GB of purchased music on iTunes by going to “Imported Playlists” (or something like that) on the old app. Now I cannot find a way to get at that music without having to pay for Apple Music. Why did Sonos do away with that pathway to the iTunes Music, and if they didn’t, where is it? I thought this was going to be sorted out by mid June. Of what year????
Sad to see. Sadder to see all the products I bought over the years turn to *. Listen to your customers. Your new app is absolute garbage, and you are losing fans - and turning evangelists into the enemy (quickly). *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
bc, Sonos conveniently cancelled their support contact info….maybe (tho I doubt) they’ll read this… I’m sure you’ve heard this, but whatever you did to the Sonos app/system is a total failure….probably worse than the New Coke, except they reverted back to what worked. You took a very user friendly product and, for lack of a better term, totally * it up. Why? So you could scale it to something greater? Yeah, right, we’re all going to have a Sonos talking system in our homes bc you know apple and google are weak. Wtf, stick to your knitting….it’s sad bc I used to rave about Sonos and recommended to dozens of friends, now I’d busy apologizing. Sadly, I’m all in and have to deal w your screw up, but I will be equally vocal to everyone to avoid this “Edsel”. Btw, fire your CTO….John*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
At least with the latest app update the queue can be edited again. However, I now get an error “cannot add to queue” - this happens after adding two (!) albums to the queue, from a music library. There are 24 items in the queue, and I can’t add more. After a few tracks are played, then it seems to allow another album to be added, but only one.Can someone from Sonos comment - is this a “feature” of the new app, or is it yet another bug? Either way, it needs to be fixed, yet more incompetence in a basic feature.
Absolutely SICK of SonosHATE IT!! 😡😡😡😡will never ever purchase any more to add to my collection! Most definitely would not recommend The new update is still no better! Rubbish!!The radio is CONSTANTLY keep going on and off every other minute, songs jump, songs repeat words…… it’s absolutely rubbish!I have no problem with any other item in my house that uses wifi so definitely not that, its at its worse this past few months!
Hello!I’d like to congratulate the Sonos team on the cosmetics of the new app.Unfortunately, many of the key features that proved so useful and intuitive within the previous version seem to have gone, such as all my Sonos Playlists (!) and functionality to Save Songs to an existing Spotify playlist. 😤Hopefully these will return soon, or I’ve overlooked these and they can be switched on using some new option!🤞(Apologies if these questions/feedback is captured within another post)Thanks,Chris
Sadly, I am walking away from a near $20,000 purchase of Sonos equipment for a client’s new home in Beverly Hills. The new app absolutely destroyed any confidence that I had in planning this installation. The Crestron control integration is completely broken and is crucial to making this a viable whole home audio installation. Sonos, your loss… not to mention that I won’t be recommending your products and will do my best to deter anyone who may be interested in Sonos…
App seems to be getting better, more stable. Navigation still challenging. Mostly still missing the feature I miss the most. When adjusting master volume, I really miss seeing the volume levels of all the speakers and then being able to easily adjusting individual speaker levels. And then being able to easily adjust the EQ right from that screen. Please restore that!! Thanks
Why would you release an update that is a complete downgrade and total disaster? What was the thought process here? And who was genius that gave this POS the green light? Seriously, I think the least you can do while we are waiting for you to fix this abomination, is give us some insight into what caused the defect in the minds of the people behind your self inflicted injury that has completely pissed the rest of us off and rendered the Sonos system itself almost completely useless!
Sonos Tech Support (STS) is alive and working. As they are inundated with requests to correct issues with the new App and other requests the only option is patience. There is an issue with the Balance Slider and Sonos Amp with Sub which you can read about in the link below. I mention this as so many have complained about STS and lack of responsiveness. I just had to bite-the-bullet and wait my turn even though I wanted the issue fixed yesterday (tongue in cheek) 😊.Bottom-line STS is responding and escalating issues when necessary. They even gave me a return call when I scheduled a call-back to avoid waiting on hold.STS will have you go through steps that you may find annoying (or painful). However, that is the only way an issue can be identified as legitimate to determine if it’s user error, network and/or software related. It’s really basic trouble shooting for Tech Support anywhere.I’m sure many will disagree with what I’ve written and that’s your prerogative. Ce’ la vie!
Hi, I just wanted to give my two cents as a first time Sonos user. For years it's been my dream to have a full house speaker system I can easily control and play music anywhere. As we are purchasing a house this week, and I had an unexpected influx of disposable cash I decided to take the plunge and get a bunch of speakers to go with the new house. For years I've heard nothing but good things about sonos. Great quality. Easy to setup and use. Devices to fit every need. Users seemed to be generally happy and pleased with the brand. I did some more research and decided to get a couple move 2s, a beam gen 2, sub mini, 2 one sl and a roam for the kid. Everything is going good, with the exception of a few features that seem to be missing from the app That is until it came time to pair the one sls. Wow what a nightmare. These things refused to update when using the new app. S1 controller setup near instantly. New app, errors as far as the eye can see. From just failing half way through, to
I currently have a Sonos system set up at home, but I want to set up a second system under my existing account, at a second property on a separate wifi system. Can someone tell me, step by step, how to do this please? Thank you.
Opened app this morning and cannot do anything until I accept new terms of use. They don’t bother to summarize what has changed and I cannot find the previous one of course. don’t usually read these but such is my level of trust now I read it all. Mostly looked ok but this clause seems to shut the door to any complaints about any changes they make. This is appalling. Does anyone know if this clause is new?Software Updates. I was an early Sonos adopter, and I have had speakers since the first year they were sold. I love the sound, look, and capabilities of Sonos. The problem from the beginning has been and remains how Sonos manages its Wi-Fi network. I have a smart house with over 150 smart devices, including 11 Sonos products. When I reboot my modem and router, the Sonos may be the only product that does not reaquire the network it was functioning or setup on.Sonos has refused to update or change this because they want to control Sonos speakers being addressed by any other Wi-Fi controller. If the Sonos speakers do not reaquire the Wi-Fi network instantly, they generally have an extremely difficult time doing so. This happens every 2, 3, 4, or 6 months. All I did this past time was to shut down my modem & router to move a file cabinet into my office. No Wi-Fi changes of any kind occurred, but when I turned the modem/router back on, everything in my house reconnected except for the Sonos system. Becau
Are there plans to add Everand (an audio book provider with a subscription service) to Sonos? If not, I’ll cancel the service. yes I can play it using aircast but I move through my house too swiftly to fuss with making each room’s speakers play a book.
Dear Sonos team, when equalizing the Arc soundbar, it would be essential to add the midrange setting. Currently it is only possible to set the bass and treble... although i think the mids are managed by the DSP/Trueplay but are a fundamental setting. I believe it’s very important to leave the user the possibility of modifying them according to their preferences also to give greater balance to the type of sound they listen to. So basically, having three-band EQ would be really great! For the rest, i am very happy of the product and the audio quality is excellent!
As i can read in this community, Sonos has a lot of work to do to bring back respect from customers. Unfortunately, they didn’t answer to anyone. This is a disaster.
Hi Everyone . 75 minutes to try and speak to someone. These waiting times are awful just wanted some help………….
Are there any third party app recommendations? The new app is useless, the updates helped initially but the app is again useless on Tablet and phones. The desktop one seems fine but the app in mobile devices just errors out constantly, stalls, has a huge lag, just useless.
Everything about Sonos is now Crap!!waiting time on support 2 hours I finally got to talk to someone and now they just ignore you, do you still need help ?? Answer yes!! Well go * your self is the feeling I get to the help sonos sgoujd but back all the products from unhappy customers also give the option of going back to the old app!! *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
For years, complaints and feature requests for the S2 app came in on a frequent - almost daily - basis on these forums. Now, I read nothing but praise for it in a lot of posts over the last few weeks. I know some folk are having issues with the latest app whilst others with, if seems, different network or protocol setups are saying everything is fine. But how quickly the S2 shortcomings seem to have been forgotten!
How can I return these speakers because they no longer connect to wifi?
