My previous post “Play & shuffle from folder view of local library still missing from July 22 app update” has been closed to further comments, so I’m continuing here.As the topic says, the ability to play or shuffle from the folder view of the local library is still missing from today’s iOS version, 80.11.38. I haven’t tried the Android update - my phone is still running the 16.1 app from before this mess started.I’ve seen posts from others who used to rely on this missing feature, and it is the main way we’ve always used our library. I’m thankful that it’s still available in the S1 app, which is looking like our long-term solution.
Salve, è possibile collegare gli speaker da incasso (per controsoffitto) alla soundbar arc ultra con connessione Bluetooth e senza un amplificatore dedicato? Eventualmente, quanti speaker posso collegare?grazie
So - With the new Sonos App Release in Spring 2024 there has been a number of challenges. The most recent one for those of us that have used Sonos as a source for a Crestron controlled Home automation. Discontinuation Notice: Sonos® App Support on Crestron Touch Panels- Update January 9th, 2025 - Crestron has discontinued the use of the Sono’s app in it’s panels - (This is due to the updated Sonos App and no warning to its partner Crestron that it would not work back in spring 2024) https://community.crestron.com/s/article/2986 So… having said that - Lots of expensive home systems (Thousands… 20K,30K+ systems) do not have a functional source solution - Thanks Sonos! My customers love me now! Any installers or users that have found a work around or another solutions? I will not be recommending Sonos to customers now - how they handled the release of the app and its partners.
Many thanks for any help. Era 100 which has been functioning well has suddenly started with an error which I can’t find described in the help pages. The speaker actually still works, but whenever it is plugged in has random runs of rapid chimes/noises associated with rapid flashing green and orange (and sometimes red) lights. There is no pattern to when the runs happen but it is every couple of minutes at most. There is no pattern to the length of the runs of chimes/lights and this varies quite wildly. The flashes and sounds are rapid, several per second. Have had to unplug the speaker rather than listen to it 24/7! It has not responded to resetting the router, several power cycles including one lasting a couple of days, a full factory reset and update of the speaker, and the advice on how to bring a device out of diagnostic mode. Has anyone had a similar error or come across this error described anywhere?
Volume keeps.going to 15 every time I raise the Volume it drops back to 15
I have handed over my 10 year old Beam and two play 1 speakers to my son in law but when he got it home and plugged it in it did not display on his freshly downloaded app. Is there some thing I should have doen before handing it over as the items in question no longer appear on my app, just my new ones bought last week
My setup: Sonos beam 2 → connected to hdmi eArc on TCL tvApple tv → connected to normal HDMI Cec enabled If the sound format is set to Dolby atmos (as it is by default) on my apple TV, there is no sound from the speakers. If I change it to Dolby digital 5.1 it works (although, sometimes it suddenly disappears and I have to change the sound format back and forth again to make it work).Does anyone know how to make the Beam output dolby atmos from apple tv? Does anyone else have problem with the sound suddenly stop working when the Beam is connected to an apple tv?
I had a folder in my NAS Library with a set of FLAC files. The Album appeared in the Windows App,with track names corresponding to the FLAC filenames. I then deleted the folder, and updated the Library; the Albun disappeared. I then restored the folder with copies of the files, after I had changed the sample rates and modified the filenames, which had been long anc complicated. BUT when I updated the Library, the Album reappeared with the original filenames. The files themselves are the modified ones, with the altered filenames, but the track names shown in the App are the original ones. How and why does the app remember the original names, when I have deleted the files are replaced them with different filenames ? Does SONOS just get the tracknames from a web server ?
I've read all the posts on this forum, tried everything suggested time and time again and now completely frustrated with it.Actually everything was working fine until I was forced to change ip supplier from Virgin to talk talk, and coincidentally update W11 to version 24 H2. Now it's all screwed. I managed to update the mobile app to the new network ip, which seems to behave fine on sonos radio, but neither the mobile or lappy now on V24H2 will pick up the shared music folder. On the lappy, Mcafee permissions are set to accept sonos incoming approach from the loaded app, files are shared, and typed in SonosLibrary under permissions advanced tab but to no avail. I even turned fire walls off. What is wrong?
I love the “enhanced” dialog enhancement of the Arc Ultra. At the moment, you must navigate to “Settings” to change the desired level of enhancement. It would be great if the App control (which now simply turns dialog enhancement On or Off) allowed you to cycle through the various levels. Not a big surprise, but I find that different types of content require different levels of enhancement - e.g., an action film (High) versus the play-by-play in a football game (Low or Medium). Can this one control be used to provide On/Off functionality for the Arc, but Low/Medium/High/Off functionality for the Arc Ultra?
Hi there,I recently bought my first Sonos device, the Era 100, but I haven’t been able to use it yet. It’s impossible to connect it using the Sonos app on Android or iOS. Everything seems fine at first, but then it doesn’t work. Most of the time, I can’t add the device to my system. On a few occasions, I managed to add the device to my living room, but the process failed with an error code 801.I’m feeling really frustrated—please help me!Thank you in advance.
It's disappointing that the Sonos Line-In Adapter is not included with Sonos speakers and must be purchased separately. Given the premium price of Sonos speakers, this adapter should be supplied as standard, especially since third-party alternatives are incompatible, leaving customers with no choice but to buy the official Sonos adapter. The more significant issue, however, is the mandatory audio delay enforced by the Sonos App when using the line-in adapter. The app only allows delay options ranging from 75ms to 2000ms, with no option for a 0ms delay. This is incredibly frustrating, as it creates noticeable synchronization issues between video and audio, in my case I'm using the Sonos Era 300 speaker with line-in adapter alongside other speakers which creates a noticeable eco in the audio output.Sonos, PLEASE UPDATE the mobile app to include a 0ms delay option! This is essential for a seamless and premium audio experience, which is expected at this price point.
Now that legacy TuneIn is gone from the new (buggy) iOS controller and all my custom radio stations (in my case from Digitally Imported di.fm) were gone and there is no information on the Sonos site I luckily found a way to get them back. However it involves recreating them which can be labour intensive depending on how many you have. You will also need the IOS version of TuneIn for this to work. No premium sign up required. Here are the instructions from TuneIn https://help.tunein.com/en/support/solutions/articles/151000172377-what-is-a-custom-url-and-how-can-i-add-it-to-sonos-The Custom URL feature allows you to listen to a private streaming URL, most likely not in the TuneIn directory, using the TuneIn and Sonos app.To add a custom URL to your Sonos:Ensure that TuneIn (new) is added on your Sonos app Log into the iOS or Android TuneIn app using the same TuneIn credentials you use on Sonos On the TuneIn app, navigate to Library Tap on customURL and enter the desired stream URL While
Moderator Edit: Google Translate- In the past you could operate Sonos with the volume buttons of an iPhone. That got lost in an update somewhere. The volume control in the Sonos app has also become completely uncontrollable and I don't even have fat fingers. I w
Android Sonos App (latest version, 80.14.06) startup time is very long on my phone (xPeria J9210, Android 11), even after I wipe out all cache/data, reinstall the app, and start it with phone IN FLIGHT MODE, i.e. no WIFI, no access whatsoever to my players. It takes about 2 minutes for the app to finally tell me that I need to enable the Wifi to find my system. And after enabling Wifi, it takes only a few seconds for the app to really find my system and be ready to roll. So the startup time issue can not be related to the players configuration, interference, or wifi/router setup. This is also confirmed by the fact that the same app version on a separate (Android 14) tablet starts and finds the system in a few seconds. So I tried to understand what could cause this massive startup delay and traced the android system activity during the startup phase using common Android debug tools (perfetto trace). What I found is that OkHttp Dispatch thread of the com.sonos2.acr2 app experiences a “Lock co
Once again my entire system is no longer available. I have an Arc, 2 Ports 4 Sonos One Gen 2s and 2 Sonos 1 Gen 1s. Nothing is available and my Sonos network has disappeared AGAIN.Currently performing a factory reset on everything and will then have to re-tune them for the rooms. This is the 8th time I have had to do this since last spring when the ‘update’ started wiping everything out.WHY WHY WHY can’t your engineers figure out how to push updates that don’t break everything? Before you start saying “Check your WiFi settings” I have done that, and my WiFi is operating perfectly.I have a significant investment in this system and am Extremely Unhappy with the quality of the Sonos software. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!
Am quite a bit annoyed with the discontinuation of the integration with the Calm app, this is used daily in my house. What Calm app alternatives that have their integration supported by Sonos exist?Honestly it makes me want to fire my Sonos in the bin.
Hi,Things are driving me crazy. Literally spend days digging through many online fora. This is my set-up:Simple router from ISP (Nokia Fiber Router) Every device on LAN can talk to every other device, no restrictions Raspberry Pi, with latest OS version (Bookworm), Lite (no desktop) version, not exposed to the internet External SSD mounted and visible, has all my music files SAMBA file server installed, latest version (Version 4.17.12-Debian), with settings: security = user NTLM auth = yes server min protocol = NT1 client min protocol = NT1 user “sonos” created, with password Sonos devices: Connect Amp, GEN1, wired Connect, GEN1, SonosNet 3 x Play:1, GEN2, SonosNet This is the issue:I can add the library to the app, I can see in the app (iPhone and laptops) all album art, and I can play music on all GEN2 devices. Unfortunately, no music on the GEN1 devices. There’s a big HOWEVER though:When I group GEN1 and GEN2 devices together, on of each is enough, the GEN1 devices can play th
I have Sonos speakers in 3 rooms. I want to use Sonos speakers as a single, unified system. That means always playing the same music across rooms at the same volume. The experience for doing is is cumbersome and often fails. Speakers become ungrouped, alarms can’t be set for groups, and you can’t “cheat” and add all speakers to a single room. This is a very poor user experience vs. what is advertised as “seamless”.
I have two setups of sonos products. I have them for about ten years. One time I upgraded both sets to s2. Since then super slow, so yesterday I decided to downgrade to s1 again. Better response times since then and everything works but… I am unable to perform a trueplay tuning through my phone or any phone running iOS 18. it immediately throws a network error. I tried to find out what is was but to no avail. I could do a tuning by using a older iPad running iOS 16 without any problems. My guess is that the problem is not in the Sonos network or WiFi network but in the iPhones and maybe a security setting that prevents trueplay tuning? Can someone help me with this?
Hi I own Bean 2 sub mini and 2 era 100s configured as surround. I received 2 era 300s that I would like to configure as surround and put the 2 era 100s in stereo. Can I use the Sub mini with the 2 era 100s or does it only work with the beam 2 and the 2 Era 300s. That is, can I use the sub mini with the era 100s and with the soundbar and the 300s? Thanks. Andrea
Do I need a sub mini if I purchase a play 5
Other threads are locked… Firmware update today, removed and added library and my compilations are now correct. I would celebrate but it’s nothing to be proud or happy about after all this time
Why is the Sonos app the worst app? Hey Sonos. Hire some developers and start from scratch. I won’t buy any more speakers until you sort this mess out!
I’ve got Beam(gen1), Sub Mini, x2 Ones surround sound. I noticed the other day that the Sub Mini isn’t as noticeable as it once was - a real noticeable difference in the experience. It’s still working but it doesn’t have the impact it had - it’s gone flat. It’s subtle where it was once impactful and not noticeable where it was once subtle. (I don’t have night sounds enabled) I noticed this morning that my surrounds (two Ones) are not playing music when I play music through the telly - they once played ambient music. I have it sent to ambient sounds and again usually there’s a noticeable ambient sound - now there is nothing. Switched the music playback to full and still nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m not sure what’s happened.
