In a prior, now locked. post I mentioned how I had to break up my m3u playlists to be 1000 tracks or smaller to work. Annoying but I wrote a script to automate it so it wasn’t too bad. After the 80.19.05 it seems that even 1000 track m3us are too big. They will load and when I hit play, it just spins forever. Now I need to figure out what the new, largest m3u playlist size is. One step forward, two steps back Sonos.I really fear bankruptcy for this company now. It’s almost a year since the ‘upgrade’ and the app is still only about 50% as useful as it was before.MikeS Edit:So my experiments show that the max size m3u playlist is between 100 and 250 tracks. Sigh. Pre May 2024 I was able to play Sonos playlists of > 1000 tracks with almost zero problems. Post may 2024 I eventually lost all access to my Sonos playlists so I made m3u playlists instead. Discovered that m3u playlists > 1000 tracks would not work. Post 80.17.09 “update” now m3u playlists > ~200 tracks do not work
I have three speakers (2x one, 1x five) that I have in a group, the ones are a stereo pair.I want to have the five be significantly louder than the other two due to the bass it can create. Q: is there a simple way to say “the five should be 30% louder than the ones”?right now I am CONSTANTLY adjusting the levels individually because the default volume behavior in a groups fails me horribly. what happens? every time I adjust the group volume, something moves the ones louder and closer to equal volume wtih the five, then I have to adjust the five up and the ones down and the app does the same stupid behavior of moving them all closer togheter.I need that “the volumes should all be close together” behavior to be disabled or to be able to set a ratio that it enforces.
Hi, I didn't find this problem covered anywhere else...I stream through Apple. When I start playing an Apple playlist arranged by Artist via the Sonos app, the app plays the first track from the playlist as it should, but then the following track flips to one from another artist. (So, I select artist X but then the second track flips for some reason to artist Y). I don't have this problem when I stream directly from the Apple app. Any ideas? Thx.
I'm not new to Sonos. I've been there for the good and well of course suffering the bad lately. I have roughly fifteen devices and have replaced a number of those over the years. I've been pretty happy until the recent app debacle. Recently I decided to upgrade an old second gen device with something newer in my bedroom. Rather than go with an era 100 as I was planning, I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade my move. I relocated my Move to my bedroom and bought a Move 2. Sound is definitely an upgrade but the connectivity is atrocious. At least once a day, the app stops being able to control the volume. I can't even use the buttons on the device. They fail and show red on status when clicked. Yes I can restart things and get it back to a functional state but this has become a regular thing. I'm so annoyed that I'm planning on returning it and going with the cheaper sonos one and putting my original, reliable Move back into duty.Is there any reason I should keep the Move 2? Has an
What is going on with Sonos? Has it been taken over by a bunch of grifters. The S1 app was useless and now after making its customers suffer through the S1 They have come up with the S2. Which won't even let me sign in on Android, but will ask me for money, so that I might be able at some time in the future to actually use the speakers I purchased ... this is a class action in the waiting .. Sonos for some reason can make speakers, but not a control system
I noticed since a month that my Sub Mini disconnects from internet or doesn't play the room content (it is configurated well), like ones a week and I need to wait like 1hr to it auto-connect again or I restart it manually and takes like 5-10min to connect, I followed all the steps from articles of support and nothing and I know that Sonos speakers make a mesh for others products nearby (except the Era 100 and Era 300) so my Ray makes one, right? Also I have my router that extends the wifi signal from the original router, but also the signal provided by the original router can reach a bit of signal so sometimes it connects to it and not to the router extender or makes a rarely configuration, so one Era 100 and Sub connects to the original and the another Era 100 to the mesh of the Ray and the Ray to the original router so it's very strange and with this sometimes sounds normal (good) but sometimes it sounds with interference or don’t sound. The router extender is a meter of distance from
The audio from my Optoma projector to my Sonos Beam stopped working during an update on June 10. I use an audio extractor which I verified still gives me sound on other devices, but my Sonos system does not work anymore. Is Sonos aware of this issue? Are they working on a patch to fix it?
Can a group I’ve created play by default? I have created a group called “Downstairs” pairing my living room and kitchen speakers.I’ve got a Beam and two One SL speakers in my living room and an IKEA SYMFONISK Bookshelf in my kitchen. When I watch TV, I’d like my living room and kitchen setup to play by default without me having to add them manually every time. This is very cumbersome
Looking for people's thoughts. I only have the budget at the moment for either 300s to go with my Arc Ultra or a sub mini and era 100s. What goes better in people's opinions? Thanks
Well it's been over 5 months since I was, last posting here about problems with the new app. That's if the count on that old and now closed post is still updating as time moves on. That was when @Ken_Griffiths kindly offered to assist me and suggested a whole list of re-configuration to try with the assumption the issues MAY be something to do with my network. As I said, very kind of Ken but a list I looked at with a sense of dread at the time it would take me, on my own, to make those changes, let alone understand the technicalities of some of what was suggested.Well, the good news is that the app is much more responsive now and functions more as was presumably intended before the premature launch. The unsurprising thing, to me, is what this considerable improvement in app responsiveness required me to do. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.Which tells me that my assertion that the issues I was experiencing were nothing to do with my network/ Sonos configuration was CORRECT.I have changed nothing on
Hey - used Sonos Ace with my Arc Ultra 1st Gen to watch movies a lot and to date it’s been pretty good. Just done the firmware upgrade, switched on True Cinema and dialogue in action scenes in particular are really muffled. Even switching true cinema off doesn’t get me back to where I’ve been in the past. Anyone else finding the same?
He cambiado de compañia de telefono, he cambiado el wifi. Ahora no se me conecta la barra beam. He probado de todas las maneras posibles que se. Ahora no puedo poner musica con el movil tampoco. Gracias
Just noticed the latest release of UniFi Network Application 9.2 has a few Sonos devices in the release notes, Does this means that UniFi development and/or QA have Sonos devices on their networks?Second image down, DHCP manager:https://community.ui.com/releases/UniFi-Network-Application-9-2-87/81a6a594-e925-4100-b1d7-351d2b91a7fd
Hi, I moved to a new place last year, a two-storey apartment. Since then (and maybe also linked to the big Sonos update), I’m experiencing quite some issues with my Sonos installation. It got so bad that I thought I’d buy two additional Era 100 speakers to replace my Play:1 and a One SL, but in fact this doesn’t have seemed to make a difference (so meanwhile I just added them as extra speakers - but that wasn't the intention of course). The issues I’m experiencing: Sonos App performing badly (devices randomly not showing up, speakers working but some not allowing to manage the volume, songs playing 10-15 seconds after having selected them, sometimes the app just keeps loading the devices infinitely without showing any, ...) Speakers marked as “offline” while they are online “Can’t connect to Sonos” when opening the app Grouping the audio from the TV on the Playbar with other speakers is more or less impossible, the sound is stuttered 100% of the time, making it very unpleasant to listen
When switching between the cover photo and the playlist, every time I switch between them, I have to go seeking the song in the list, which is a pain in the butt….why don’t they fix this…..its the one thing they have left out that I loved…..I hate tweaking a playlist in a party or with company and having to scroll through trying to find the song I’m looking for, It always defaults back to the beginningI see no workaround….any one else?
I am so angry that you are forcing your customers to update the app on app load… WTF man!!!! (Even when I have selected the no automatic updates on the app) I am perfectly happy with how it is running before and I don’t trust your updates. I DO WANT ANY MORE OF YOUR F@@KEN UPDATES!!! Leave me be! With you latest update (which sounds exactly the same) I now have my sound cutting out after I pause my tv… after 3 mins of re-setting the volume it comes back. It happened after the last update you did - hence why I selected no automatic updates on the app. So now I have to go back and re-set every 14 of my speakers so it reads the app again. Just wow!!
Hello, I searched but couldn't get exact clarification on this specifically. I have two DVC Episode 8ohm Rock speakers at a new home were moving to. I have 1 AMP and know that the minimum impedance it can handle is 4ohm. To maximize the DVC speakers safely with the AMP, what would be the best wiring scenario. Two wires are red/black and two are green/white connected to each speaker. Thanks!
I have a samsung s90d oled with nintendo switch 2 and ps5 pro connected to sonos beam gen 2, 2 play ones, and gen 3 sub. When I connect my ps5 with surround sound and enable linear pcm on ps5, I only get linear stereo on my sonos app. When I select atmos I get full surround and atmos on app. Whether in game or in settings menu.On my nintendo switch 2 I get linear pcm 5.1 on the app while playing in game. In audio settings menu and audio output test the switch doesn't detect it 5.1. It says i have stereo, but when i play test tones it plays sound through all 5.1 channels but app and switch show stereo pcm during this. I have earc on, auto mode and pass through selected on my TV, as well as hdmi-cec on. I do use nice quality hdmi cables. I've power cycled and unplugged replugged it all. I have read sonos may not get along well with some samsung tv, is that my issue? Thank you for any help
Hello, I have a play 5 gen 1 and had interruptions during music through Spotify. When I switched to Tidal the problem was solved.
Iv just purchased a new tv (Hisense 75u8qua) and Sonos beam. Had the beam connected to old tv last night and all worked fine. New tv arrived and have set up, missing sound from some tv shows. Trying to watch lioness and can only hear the background noise and no dialogue.plugged in using Arc hdmi, used the supplied HDMI cord etc. cannot get it to work.
I am planning my kitchen and dining room. I am installing 2 sets of in-cieling sonos speakers in my kitchen and the adjacent dining room I wanted to put in-wall speaker/s. My question is do I need to put a pair of in wall speakers (3rd in parallel series) or can I just put one in in-wall speaker? the room only requires one speaker based on size, but not sure that I could do 3 on the right and 2 on the left and everything would function well. Thanks
After a year of troubleshooting with Sonos support things still don’t work. I even sent an email to the new CEO and to Investor Relations and they got me in touch with a high end rep and problems are now recurring again. They said I needed to plug one of my wireless speakers into direct Ethernet to establish a proper SonosNet network (which kind of defeats the purpose of wireless speakers and wireless worked fine before last May’s app disaster). Have rebooted router and factory reset speakers and everything else and it’s still problematic. Recent issue is that speakers are normal volume when searching and playing from Spotify via the Sonos app but if I AirPlay from Spotify directly to the speakers the volume is massively reduced. Nothing changed on my end and have checked volume settings on both apps. And then the Ethernet connected Sonos One and Sub Mini are always picking up audio like 30 seconds after starting music again too. It’s all a mess and I doubt I’ll be able to resell
Wife and I "gifted" ourselves two new Sonos Roams in Dec '23, one orange, one green. Of course how little did anyone expect the Black Spring (year, and continuation for some) that Sonos would force upon us.Yesterday, her roam decided to up and experience the knocking noise all of a sudden while playing.FIX (PERMANENT?): It took about, if not over, 30 seconds of holding the power button to turn it off. Turning it back on, all seemed back to normal. Time will tell.We were hoping that the Roams were going to be able to eventually link, wired or wireless, to build a stereo pairing for use at camp sites, picnics, and back yard hangs while relaxing with a beverage or gardening. But someone decided to torpedo the app, and the rest is history. We clearly knew the quality of device we were buying into for portability which could even be an extension of our other Sonos speakers. But the app-hot-mess and other shortcomings nearly immediately put the Roams into the buyers remorse column as soon
I have a large Sonos system (19 devices). I have purchased another 10+ devices in the past but upgraded them. So needless to say I know my Sonos.I have had a problem with a Ghost TV as the main imput into two of my rooms that only have amp(s). A while go I factory reset all of my devices and everythign was working great. Then one day I choose to expand the TV to these other rooms. I have not been able to remove the Ghost TV since then. L2 has even replaced one of my amps. The good thing is that after 9 months I think I know the fix. I have to factory reset all of my devices (2+ hours) to get rid of the Ghost TV, and never expand the TV into those rooms again. The problem with the Ghost TV is that those rooms become surrond sound speakers only. NO - I will not talk to support desk any more. Hours upon hours to get to support desk to go now where - you guys are painful. Enough with varify my phone number, email etc…..Every time - Every transfer after 20 min of let
Hi Team,Already have read almost every forum post and tried every trick from completely reinstalling all my Sonos devices till completely redesigning my wireless.Iam using a arc with a sub and just replaced my Sonos Play 1 surrounds with 2 ERA 300 devices. The problem is they keep losing there connection in the surround enviroment and i don't get it why. There is not a real error but sometimes after 30 minutes and sometimes within 3 minutes the ERA300 speakers disappear in the app and I cannot get them back.I tried reseting them, unplug and plug the cable again. Also set my wifi to only use 2.4ghz, 5ghz, disabled things like client loadbalacing, band steering, added fixed IP addresses etc etc.. but iam pretty lost now.Iam add the point of returning them because my play 1 were always working fine but for some reason its not possible to get a steady connection with the ERA300’s...(EDIT) added my play 1’s again..but they disappear now as well.. so not sure if its me / the app/ my wifi setup
