Have you read the new router - installation instructions FAQ? Changing the WiFi does require some extra effort, and is likely why your new phone can’t see the Beam, until it is on WiFi.

You certainly can temporarily move the speaker to hook it up, if needed, once you have it recognize the WiFi system, it can be moved back.
