The audio from my Optoma projector to my Sonos Beam stopped working during an update on June 10.  I use an audio extractor which I verified still gives me sound on other devices, but my Sonos system does not work anymore. Is Sonos aware of this issue? Are they working on a patch to fix it?

All of my speakers still work after the update. I'm watching TV right now with audio coming out of my HT system just fine.

Does streaming services work on the Beam or is it just the audio from the projector that has stopped?

Have you tried rebooting everything?

Have you checked your cables?

Thanks for the reply. The Beam does work and play music, it just doesn’t play audio with my projector (Optoma UHD38). I tried rebooting and checking the cables. I know everything is working because I connected my old Yamaha soundbar and it works. Therefore its not the projector, switch (audio extractor), or wiring. Sonos tech support even told me the update caused the issue (I have a recording of it). However Sonos can’t confirm if they’re working on a fix for the bug since “Sonos isn’t meant for projectors, only TVs”

My only thought at this point is to buy the Sonos Ray soundbar since its still compatible with my ERA 100s. It uses fiber connection not HDMI. Tech support said this could fix the problem but no guarantees...

Not that I have very much cause to defend Sonos, but the sentence “Sonos isn’t meant for projectors, only TVs” could be short for “Your set up (projectors to extractor to Beam)” isn’t a supported set up”. The Sonos Beam needs an HDMI-ARC connection, that can also come from a HDMI-ARC capable projector. It does not have to be a TV as such.
