Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I subscribe to Sonos Radio HD, and it would be great to not have the Sonos intro ads when starting iHeartRadio stations. After it was announced that TuneIn would go away, I moved over to iHeartRadio for streaming local radio stations. That’s fine except launching a station always plays a Sonos ad (“Hands free is now worry free…”) plus the stations own stream intro/ad, so it usually takes a good 30s to get going.Of course can’t control the stream’s intro, but shouldn’t being a radio subscriber be enough to skip me the Sonos plug? It’s just annoying to hear the same thing multiple times a day, and also inferior to the previous TuneIn experience.
How can I clean the speaker cover of the Sonos Arc - over Christmas someone got candle wax on the grill - and although the speaker still works perfectly, it looks awful. Any thoughts please?
Hello,And thank you in advance for your help. I have this as my current Sonos system:All physically in one space, but divided up into two rooms in the app.Room One: Arc + a stereo pair of Move 2sRoom Two: Two Fives (set as surrounds) + 2 Sub 3sI am about to purchase another set of Fives and for the time being, I would like to replace the two Moves. How would I best go about doing this? I want to put the two new Fives with the Arc. I haven’t messed around with removing products so I am hoping with guidance from some advanced Sonos users, I can avoid muddling my way and making a total mess of things. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance again. Cheers.
Hi all! I need the communities help and guidance with sizing and understanding Sonos speaker and amplifier setup in an extra large open space.I have been tasked with outfitting a large 2800sqft room (33’x85’ rectangular with sloped ceilings from 10’-14’ at the peak). The idea is to install a bunch of Sonos in-ceiling speakers which will all play from the same music/input. The room also doesn’t need to be excessively loud, like a concert hall, but it would still be nice to “fill the air” completely. Please help and guide me with selecting appropriate sizing, quantity and amplifiers to power these outputs and thanks in advance for your help!
How can I connect my turntable to my Sonos system without using BT neither line-in?as I want to install it far from the Sonos system, WiFi would be the best option. Is it possible and if yes, which additional device/accessory would I need? Bridge/Amp/Port? Thanks
Hi,My Google Assistant has suddenly stopped playing any requested tracks/radio stations. When the command is given the assistant responds in a positive way stating the correct track, station or playlist, but then nothing plays.I have disconnected the Assistant and reconnected but nothing. The Roam is playing tracks from the S2 app with no issues
I don't have any of the Amazon Music Unlimited features in sonos. I can play the pre selected stations, but I can't search for any albums or artists, like I can online. I am logged into my Amazon music account in the Sonos app, I just don't have any of the Unlimited features. Am I missing something?
Lost connection to Alexa. Cycled power, disabled and re-enabled Alexa skill, etc. finally decided to try a reset on my Sonos One. Now when I am in setup inside the Sonos app I timeout and get an error trying to register the device. Tried for 2 days now to get it to register. So frustrating. Any ideas? edit - today I tried connecting via Ethernet but that didn’t help. Also made a new Sonos account and transferred the One to it. It transferred ok, but registration to new account had same issue.
When I first set my Sonos beam up to my LG TV I could adjust the volume of the system using either of my tv remotes (LG remote or Virgin Media remote). The TV would show the bar indicating the volume level. Recently, despite not changing any settings the TV no longer shows the volume indicator. The remotes still control the volume but without showing what level it’s currently at. The TV doesn’t have an e-arc input, only arc but the audio is set up through Simplink on the TV. Whether playing audio from my Virgin STB or Xbox it sounds fine but is frustrating that the level is no longer shown like it has done for months previous. is this a remote issue or recent update? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, I’m trying to troubleshoot an issue trying to get new Sub to work with my existing Amp and speakers. It seems that my Amp, which is in my ‘home run’ room is too far from the Sub. If I move the Sub closer, it works. It I move it to where I want it, it doesn’t work. What are the limitations on how close they need to be to each other and how can I do something’s to make this work? I can’t move the Amp any closer at this point.
Hi all I have bought a Samsung freestyle to replace my TV and at this moment I still can not use it with my sons system. Here is what I have: 2 one sl, move, roar and beam. As previously in another conversation I have linked the Samsung with the roar by Bluetooth but it works 1 time every 10. And each time I have to pair again, switch off 10 times and sometimes I give up because it does not work.So the Samsung is connected to the roar but there is no sound but in the app I can pause the video (it makes no sense to me) . For the moment I can not use anymore my sonos system when I am watching Netflix or Prime. It is a pity for a system that cost me more than 1000€.Any suggestions?ThanksAndreea
NAD stereos (vintage as well as new but retro NAD C 3050) among others have Pre-Out and Main-In ports to allow users to get between the pre-amp and amplification functions of a given integrated amp. I believe this would allow Sonos Port to stand in the middle … receiving analog signal from the integrated amplifier via pre-out port (into Sonos Port In) and separately distributing analog signal (from any other Sonos device) via output port to the Main-In on the integrated amplifier. I recognize that this requires the music to go through a A->D encoding and then back D->A with the attendant delays (computational and networking). But, it should also allow any natural function of the pre-amplifier to be passed through without any fiddling of buttons to switch inputs/outputs and it should ensure than music being amplified by that integrated amplifier is time-wise synchronized with all other Sonos devices. Am I right ? The diagram (box and arrow) on the following post to this commu
Please fix this issue.I have had this system for 2 years and we use it for a retail store, we have had several customers comment on how good it sounds. At this point I need to cancel Sonos and move on because it is failing to keep playing and it seems Sonos is not doing anything to repair the issue. I completely reset the system and it worked for 2 days and now it is back to the same problem. Stopping on commercials
Has anyone worked out a way to connect to Starlink? All my speakers will show up, then disappear. When I pair them again it really struggles to connect to the wifi. Please help!
Roam will not reconnect to Sonos app or to Bluetooth after being shut down for travel. After being plugged in overnight, only the orange light comes on - some times it blinks and sometimes it is solid. I tried the reboot procedure but nothing happened. Is it dead or can I try something else?
unable to pair Roam to Google android phone. Icon for Roam does not appear as an option under “saved devices” and is not found when searching “pair new device”. WiFi on phone is on. In the Sonos app it says it’s paired with the wifi in my building but not the phone. A was working fine yesterday but not today!
So having had trouble for the last 4 days trying to get a new Sonos Arc to work consistently with my TV… blaming the TV, the new Sky box, having tried 4 different cables, it seems the culprit (or at least a big contributor) is a very loose HDMI port on the Arc. This results in the cable partly coming out of the Arc each time it’s placed back on the wall.I ended up having to put a cable tie holder on the back of the Arc itself to hold the HDMI cable motionless as it’s mounted. This has things working - at least temporarily - but I’m concerned that 1. it may not hold indefinitely and 2. I shouldn’t have to resort to a cheap cable holder for a soundbar that cost over £1k!Coming to the forum, I immediately found another thread with multiple customers confirming the same. That dates back to 2020, and it seems nothing has been done to fix this obvious product fault. That thread is annoyingly locked, so it’s not possible to follow up there.Sonos Arc Loose HDMI ConnectionAre others still f
Our music library contains many WMA files, most of which are recognised and indexed by the Sonos app properly. Some WMA files are however missing from the library, even so they are recognised and played correctly by other apps, e.g. Windows Media Player or VLC.We’ve already checked all the suggestions in the article “Missing tracks or albums in Sonos music library”, and the missing WMA files contain all the required metadata, like artist, title, track number, album artist and album title. Is there anything in particular that needs to be present in a WMA file for Sonos to accept it, or that prevents Sonos from indexing it? What do we need to look for? What requirements do WMA files have to meet to be compatible with Sonos? Happy to provide examples of files that work and don’t work, if that helps.
Hi, Thanks in advance for your help. I’m just trying to understand something. When it comes to the distance setting for my surrounds (a pair of Fives bound to my Arc) is the distance meaning how far behind me as referenced from where I sit, or does it mean how far from the Back pair of Fives? I have two sets of Fives, two right beside the Arc that face me so Back I believe we refer to them, and the pair of Fives as surrounds which are a few feet behind my listening position.I’m not sure that it matters all that much, but I am curious what the reference point for the distance actually is. Cheers.
Previous speaker before the Arc was a Bose Sounddock 10. The highs were brilliant, and needless to say, big on bass.I believe I installed the Arc correctly. The TV is a Hisense A4 65”The apartment room is L shaped, and large. TV is on a table top against a wall. The Arc was originally places directly in from of the TV. The lower edge of the TV is about 4” higher than the table.I’ve tried the EQ settings to boost the highs. It did help somewhat. Now I have the Arc on the floor in front of the table, it sits about 24” from the wall. I think it’s an improvement.Am considering purchasing 2 Era 300 speakers.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, we have a household with 4 kids, which is pushing the whole sonos system to the limit, which is now why i will have to change the setup.first, many rooms have a arc-sonos1 twice and subwoofer setup, so that is 4 devices per such room, which is how we easily get to 32+ devices. Add a few amps for outdoor music, some moves and bathroom music..i have a unifi mesh network, the sonos support mentioned it would be more stable to use sonosnet instead of wifi in this case. I tried that years ago, was very unstable, so am a bit cautious. I have ensured the sonos devices are all attached to a designated access point, to avoid the unsupported roaming. First question is any tips or experiences with sonosnet with a lot of devices?secondly, i need to have two households setup to go above 32. I have looked around on this forum, and see different experiences and failures and success with this on the same network. What is the best way to do it, any specific actions to make this work and maintainabl

I am a new owner of a Sonos one SL and just setting it up and getting used to it. Amongst other things, I have loaded Global Player. Via the Sonos app there are many “items” but one of the podcasts that I sometimes listen to, “The Rest is Politics”, is not listed, whereas it is there if I look on the Global Player app directly. I notice (on the Global Player app) there are a number of other podcasts that begin “The Rest is ….” Eg Football, Entertainment, History. None of them seem to be available through the Sonos app.Can anyone shed any light on this please? Am I looking in the wrong place perhaps?Much appreciated
