Hi all! I need the communities help and guidance with sizing and understanding Sonos speaker and amplifier setup in an extra large open space.

I have been tasked with outfitting a large 2800sqft room (33’x85’ rectangular with sloped ceilings from 10’-14’ at the peak).  The idea is to install a bunch of Sonos in-ceiling speakers which will all play from the same music/input.  The room also doesn’t need to be excessively loud, like a concert hall, but it would still be nice to “fill the air” completely.

Please help and guide me with selecting appropriate sizing, quantity and amplifiers to power these outputs and thanks in advance for your help!

You’re far better advised to talk to professional audio installers than a bunch of enthusiastic owners for this sort of advice. (No disrespect meant to any pro audio engineers on these forums!)

A professional sound system fed by a Sonos Port really would be your best option.

That big a room you are going to want to start with speakers a bit more hefty than even the new 8” Sonos, and quite a few of them too.

Start with a free consult and see where to go from there. Ask them about ‘70 volt’ systems and adding a voice announcement option too.
