Sonos S1 "The computer [name] cannot be found" whilst in use? After two years of Sonos claiming it’s anything but Sonos equipment, it turns out my issue with the Sonos S1 Controller dropping my music library at random times, either between tracks or in the middle of a track, is down to the Sonos Bridge which has a known fault. All this time Sonos has been claiming it’s something to do with my set-up or my equipment, which has been an outright lie.Has anyone else had this problem? If you search for it, it comes straight up on Google, so it’s obviously widespread, but instead of a product recall and fix, Sonos have decided “We’ve had your money, now f*** off”.Not at all impressed with Sonos. I'm working a garage project and we want the front lounge area to be some place people can hang out in. I have an Arc, G3 Sub and 2 Era 300's for the rear channel in surround. I'll also want to use this system for playing music. The room is approximately 25'x60', 1500 sq ft. Image of layout https://imgur.com/a/vdE21fL do i want to place the era 300's in position A or position B? A is the approximate midway point in the room, and B is about 60' away from the TV. If A is the best place, do i want to mount the era's on the wall and pointing into the room like 1 or put them on stands and have them point at the TV like 2? I tried calling Sonos, but it was quickly clear the person answering the phone was going to be on no help. any input/insight is appreciated!
Currently with BT and BT discs with too many problem,s throughout the house including a fragile SONOS network. Have tried so many fixes.Ditching BT for Starlink and want to know what you think the best mesh system is that will support Sonos plus, other stuff in the house.. (Arlo etc)
I’ve noticed ever since upgrading to TV OS 17 on Apple TV 4K (2021), I only get stereo PCM from any 5.1 audio source. Dolby Atmos output works fine. Other sources (e.g. PS5) play LPCM 5.1 fine - any ideas? I’ve been able to get it briefly but it then reverts back to stereo. It could very much be Sonos not supporting TV OS 17 (as with iOS17)
Ok, so after much trial and error on this, I have finally found the solution. My set up is as follows. My music library is on a NAS which is connected to a MacMini (running Sonoma 14.2.1) . Every time I re-import my Apple Music Library, it does not bring over the playlists. Here’s how you do it.Import music from your NAS (or even external drive) into Sonos A new file will be created in the music folder in your home folder (~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml) Move that iTunes folder (and the file inside) to where your music is stored. Remove and re-import your music library in Sonos. Sonos will pick up the itunes .xml file and import the playlists as well as all the music.I do not think you can simply “update the music library now” to bring over new playlists. The file containing the playlists is only generated when you do the first import. I don’t think it’s updated at all.If there is a better solution out there, I’d love to hear it.
Hello,Does Trueplay tuning work for this config:- Arc- Sub (Gen 3)- Amp powering 3rd party passive bookshelf surrounds Specifically, will the Amp+3P Surrounds be included in the tuning? Thanks!
Bonjour, Depuis quelques jours le flux radio RMC n’est plus disponible sur Sonos Radio. Est ce un problème général ou de mon côté ? merci
I have a mostly Gen 2 SONOS system consisting of a Playbar connected via optic to a Samsung Smart TV running over a T-Mobile Home Internet network hub located in a different part of my home. My SONOS system is configured for Home Theater using a Connect:Amp, located in an A//V closet, to connect two ceiling speakers for surround sound. Currently all SONOS devices are connected wireless to the T-Mobile router. The system info in the SONOS app shows the Playbar with (+Sub+LS+RS) but I don’t seem to be getting any of the surround sound from my ceiling speakers. The SONOS setup guide indicates that the Connect:Amp needs to be connected via ethernet cable to the sound bar, in my case the Playbar. And that device should be connected via ethernet to the router. The location of my T-Mobile router does not lend itself to connect directly to the Playbar. My question is: If I connect the Connect:Amp to my Playbar with an ethernet cable should that solve my ceiling speaker issue even though the Pla
I have an arc and a sub 3 to go with my hanging 77” LG G3. The arc sits 30” off the ground and ceilings are 9 feet. The distance for the farthest couch is about 9 ½ feet. Two quick questions, anyone have a recommendation for height adjustment + for a situation like that. Right now I have it at +2. Also, planning on getting Sonance rear speakers (unfortunately the wife won’t let me get 300s because she doesn’t want the stands). Are the 6” good enough or should I go 8”with an Amp. Significantly more but if it’s worth it then will do it. Hey Sonos are you listening? I think a lot of would die for 300 type Atmos ceiling speakers.
Just got an update for my SONOS system..It is still 15.11, but it seems the version has changed..Hope that will solve my challenge with lip sync.(Samsung S90C, Playbar-Sub 2gen-2xplay1) Moderator edit: removed picture containing serial numbers
Hope everyone having a Good Day HelloJust wanted to share some first impression of my new soundbar..the Ray.I was lucky to get a good deal on a brand new Ray&Sub Mini($620) For the one that have not read my topics&posts i had to leave my home and “move” to my 90yo granny…she do not hear so well. I’ve tried to make her hear the TV with a Playbase&Sub Mini and it works…sort of. The volume is above 50% for her to hear something, well you get the idea.I have my own bedroom in the secound floor and grannys bedroom is across the hall. So i have orderd a 43” LG-smart-TV(not here yet) Plan to watch “my own choosen” programs and of course i need some upgrades in soundperformance, and i choose the Ray. I’m very fond of the Ikea Symfonisk Book Shielf-speakers(Ikea BS Red.anm) so they will be my surrounds. The room is not big,and as i write this the Ray is playing in background i think i don’t need the Sub Mini. The room is perhaps 2.5x4meters and only half the room is full roof-height a
I have a Sonos Beam Gen 2, Sonos Sub Gen 3 and 2 Sonos ceiling speakers connected to a Sonos Amp. When I play Dolby Atmos audio sourced from any app on a Samsung TV., I get constant audio dropouts on ceiling speakers. It’s so annoying that I typically end up disconnecting ceiling speakers and everything else is fine. Also whole system works perfectly when I play Atmos music directly from the Sonos app. Anyone got any thoughts on what issue might be and how to resolve.
After spending almost an hour in a Chat and then a virtual session with Sonos support, I was left with the resolution of “I have no idea why your playlists are not coming in from your Apple music app.” This even after the tech in the virtual session re-pointed the Sonos app to the folder where everything was located, re-indexed and there were no imported playlists. I have my music on a networked drive that I have used for years with no problems, but the last time I made changes to the drive, I had to reformat and create my library from scratch. After the first indexing, all the music was there, organized the way the Apple Music app sets things up but no playlists showed up. After searching these forums and finding info about exporting an .xml file, I did that. I put that file in the folder searched by Sonos, re-indexed but still no playlists. That’s when I turned to the Sonos tech folks.A day after not having a solution from Sonos tech support, I had an idea that I tried and it worked.A
I notice that my legacy products tend to struggle to keep up when streaming HD songs from sources such as Amazon. It would be nice to have the ability to set a preference for lower-quality/SD streaming if/when available to aleviate some of that struggle and make the legacy units more responsive.
After I-don’t-know-how-many years and ten Sonos units, I’ve given in. The whole lot are being sold, to save my sanity and pass the burden of these cursed ‘speakers’ to some other naive idiot who thinks a ‘premium’ product with such a fragile network operation is acceptable in this day and age. My current network is Orbi-based, with several satellites across a large house, and every floor and room has exceptional signal. All ten Sonos Play:1/Ones are connected wirelessly, and are not near any large objects, sources of interference or peas hidden under ten mattresses… And yet, despite working perfectly well for the past week, and there being no changes or alterations (including updates) to my Sonos products or network during this time, for the past two days I have been completely unable to use *any* Sonos for any type of stream or playback. All I receive from the app is the usual spinning circle of boredom before being told that either there’s no connection from the Sonos unit to the se
I did charge it with the wireless charger (overnight) the orange light shows that it does charge but still won’t turn on. So, I charged it with a wire on a USB-C plug (overnight) and try to turn it on without success again. This speaker has had this turn on problem for a couple of months but until now, I’ve alwalys been to finally get it on.
Hello there!I have a One Sl and a Symfonisk. Both are in a separate room (kitchen and attic). When I’m listening to Spotify from device A on the Symfonisk and then some starts Spotify from device B (not the same Spotify account) it stops my music on the One SL. I would expect they would both keep on playing since the Spotify accounts are separate and the rooms are separate as well. Am I missing something here?
When I try to link Sirius XM, the app routes me to login to Sirius which I do successfully. But when it tells me to return to the Sonos App, I recieve the generic error that Sonos had a problem without providing any trouble codes. I have had this problem for a while and the symptoms have always been the same.
I was wondering if there are any plans to expose some kind of developer API or custom commands for Sonos Voice Control? What I have in mind is invoking a webhook with a command recognized by Sonos. I’d love to use Sonos in my home automation system e.g. by saying Hey Sonos, turn off the lights. As developer I don’t actually need Sonos to integrate with any of the home automation systems. What I would be happy to have is Sonos system to call a defined webhook with recognized words or broadcasting this with MQTT or any other common protocol. In ecosystems like Google Assistant or Alexa these are vastly more complicated, but having this kind of easy-access API would open Sonos to home automation community and similar enthusiasts.
HelloThis sub-group appears to be very popular of late. Therefore, I thought I’d offer suggestions on how to enjoy the best listening experience with Sonos speakers focusing on the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable in Black (Sonos Edition) with a few upgrades and/or accessories. So I have a Denon M38DAB cd player, see here;https://www.denon.com/en-gb/product/archive-mini-systems/rcd-m38-dab/800346.html& a Rega Planar 3 turntable. I used to use Wharfdale Diamond 9.1 speakers & the turntable was connected to the CD player via a pre-amp to the aux in sockets. This worked fine but I'm moving the set up to my living room & there just isn't space for the Wharfdale speakers, so I'm thinking of getting an Era 100, but the only way I can think of connecting to the Denon is via the headphone jack on the front with the usb c to 3.5mm adapter. Obviously headphones pick up whatever is playing through the headphone jack, so would the Era 100 work this way? It's not a very elegant solution, but I'm struggling to work it out & one Era 100 is about as far as my budget will stretch right now. Also, even if that will work, if anyone knows of a way to connect the Era 100 to something at the back of the Denon & have it work for both CDs & the vinyl that'd be
I have several speakers in my S2 app. The only one that gives me a problem is the Arc that keeps defaulting back to “default room” every 7-14 days. I do not have the speakers connected to HomeKit and I refuse to add the to HomeKit to apply a workaround for the renaming issue that is specific to HomeKit. I’ve talked to support and the only reference they have to this problem is when the speaker is added to HomeKit. Anyone else have this issue?
TV recognized the ARC immediately, but I cannot select Dolby or Dolby+ for sound output in the tv menu, because these options are greyed out. I have tried it with normal tv (probably no dolby), but also with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Bought a new 2.1 HDMI-cable, just to be sure. Did not help. Also did a reset of the tv and new initial setup. Did not help. On the phone with Samsung as I am typing this (still in cue). Does anyone have any clues for me? Thanks for your time.
