I want to set up surround sound with my beam. I am about to install ceiling speakers and own a couple of play 3s. Would it be better to use the ceiling speakers or the play 3s. I haven't decided whether to buy a new AMP or use my existing ZP120 for the ceiling speakers.
Hey everyone, I recently moved into a "luxury" apartment that came pre-wired with a Sonos Amp inside the utility closet, powering two passive ceiling speakers in the living room. I just bought a Sonos Arc Ultra for the TV. Because of the layout, I managed to hardwire both the Arc and the Amp via Ethernet. Here is my issue: The "Default / Surround" Method (Sounds Terrible): If I set my Apple TV to default "Receiver Speakers" (so audio goes through the HDMI eARC port to the Arc) and use the Sonos app to bond the Amp/Ceiling speakers as Surrounds, the audio completely dies. The system sounds incredibly flat, dull, and completely neutered. The "AirPlay" Method (Sounds Great, but a hassle): If I go into my Apple TV settings and manually route the audio via AirPlay to both the Arc Ultra and the Amp at the same time, the room fills with sound and it sounds incredible and punchy. (Note: In this AirPlay setup, the Sonos Arc and the Amp are kept as two completely separate systems/rooms in the So
Relatively new sonos user. I have a home system with 2 zones of hardwired speakers driven by sonos amplifiers. Just added 3 x Move 2 speakers that I will place in various rooms for regular use and frequently use as a group of 3 for sound on a patio area that has good wifi reception (same network). The move speakers work well individually indoors and outside and also work fine when grouped with one of the amplifiers / hardwired speakers. When I try to group a Move 2 speaker with another Move 2 speaker, it works for a few seconds, then the audio only comes from one of the Move 2 speakers, even though the app shows additional move 2 speakers are still connected and playing audio. The entire use case for the Move 2 is based on using as a group of 3 outside, so I want this to work reliably.
I recently got the Sonos Move 2. I have had an Apple HomePod in the living room for years, which I absolutely love, the big downside of it is it’s not battery powered so can’t really take it around the house or outside so I got the Move 2 as it’s portable. It’s proved invaluable because the radio stations I listened to on my old DAB radios in the kitchen and bathroom now require DAB+ and being able to play these stations through Sonos is a big plus. However, the one issue I have is the alarm. I have it set every morning to go off with Greatest Hits Radio. Some mornings, it goes off with Greatest Hits Radio. Some mornings it goes off with the alarm tone and no matter what I say to Sonos, the reply is something like “I cannot do this as there are no timers set.” Please tell me what I have to do to (a) Ensure it goes off with the Radio every morning and (b) tell it to switch the chime off when it gets it wrong? Thank youModerator edit: combined posts
Hi, I’m getting. 1008 error when setting up Era 300. I’ve had the speakers for 6m without many issues. One of the speakers dropped last week & I cannot get to register. Keep getting a 1008 error. WiFi is via Netgear Nighthawk mesh system. If I connect direct to the router then I don’t get any issues but the router won’t extend to cover the house. I’ve been escalated to level 3 at Sonos but wondered if anyone had any ideas. I’ve reset speakers, router and tried to set up direct with router then move to Netgear but speakers aren’t moving. Help
When I play music on my laptop I can hear it thru the laptop speakers. When I play music thru the Sonos app no sound is heard on my windows 11 laptop. Has something change with the Sonos app?Thank you
Sonos is playing via Alexa but the app can’t find my products?
Why can I no longer thumbs up or down when using Pandora?
I now have 3 unique sites with a combination of play1s, amps, and ports that are having persistent alarm issues. Some of what we are seeing: scheduled events shutting off randomly, chime playing instead of selected source, and random “ghost” alarms that appear randomly. We suspect the ghost alarms are deleted alarms previously configured. We’ve tried resetting the hardware, submitting diagnostics (support just told us to reset), resetting apps, deleting all alarms and readding and nothing is working. 2 of these systems have been using this functionality for years with no issues, one site is only about 2 months old. Issues started about 2 months ago.
I recently purchased the Sonos Arc ultra. It doesn't seem to be playing Dolby Atmos. The Sonos app shows Dolby Digital Plus 5.1. The soundbar is connected to HDMI eArc on Sony Bravia XR55A80K. Sound & Audio output settings are all okThe content being played on the TV shows 4K Dolby Vision. I've configured Truplay as well.Same content on my Bose SOUNDBAR SB700 gives good surround effects. What could be missing? Or is it a bug in Sonos app or firmware
Does anybody know if Sonos are bringing out a white power cable for the Era?Kinda need one to match the colour of the walls
My Roam 2 indicates that it’s being charged when on the wireless charger, but the charge slowly drops, about 5% or so per hour, I’ve tried multiple USB chargers including some high wattage ones, and have tried a different Qi-compatible charging pad but so far the Roam just slowly loses charge despite showing up as charging (lightning bolt in the middle of the battery icon). When using the USB-C cable directly into the Roam, it charges up and stays charged.
I am having an issue with the Sonos app (Android) and a music library stored on a network share. My library contains a folder named A, which has its own music files as well as several subfolders that also contain music. However, when I browse to folder A in the Sonos app and select one of the songs stored directly in that folder, Sonos plays a song from one of the subfolders instead. For example, selecting the second song listed in A plays the second song in sub1. The apparent track order is preserved, but Sonos seems to ignore the files stored directly in A. As a result, I cannot play the songs located in A itself.Example:A/├── 01 - Song in A.mp3├── 02 - Another Song in A.mp3├── sub1/│ ├── 01 - Song in sub1.mp3│ └── 02 - Another Song in sub1.mp3└── sub2/ ├── 01 - Song in sub2.mp3 └── 02 - Another Song in sub2.mp3Expected behavior: selecting 02 - Another Song in A.mp3 should play that file.Actual behavior: it plays 02 - Another Song in sub1.mp3 instead.I am somehow surprises th
Long-time Sonos user here, with a significant investment in Sonos speakers. Everything was working fine as recently as Friday June 19. As of this weekend, I'm dealing with multiple simultaneous failures:Issue 1 — Radio stations fail with "the song is not encoded properly"Both WMAL (105.9 FM, Washington DC) and WABC (770 AM, New York) fail to play with the "not encoded properly" error. I've tried both iHeartRadio and TuneIn as the source — same error on both. Spotify streams perfectly, so this is not a network or Wi-Fi issue.Issue 2 — iHeartRadio authorization completely brokenAfter attempting to remove and re-add iHeartRadio as a service, I now cannot even authenticate. The OAuth flow fails immediately before I can enter any credentials, showing: "There was a problem authorizing your account. Please check your internet connection. Select back and try to authorize your account again." My internet connection is fine — Spotify and everything else works.Issue 3 — Mac app update failing wit
I can’t get my sub to hold the setting I set it to. Each time it defaults to zero for cross over. And regardless of what I set. It does not sound any better. I have unplugged and powered my amp up. I have done the same to my sub. I have run true play again. All the equipment is up to date and has most recent updates
My Samsung TV eARC hdmi connection is currently in my cinema processor, allowing theatre sound.I don’t use it all the time and I’m not happy with the standalone TV sound so I want to add an Arc Ultra. To get Atmos from the Arc I need to use a eARC connection from the TV.How do I get my TV eARC connection to feed BOTH the cinema processor and the Arc soundbar?Looking for solutions that work for others who have encountered this type of issue.
Hi I have several Sonos Products and recently they just randomly drop off the network.I have a Google Next Pro mesh wifi and I lose my Sonos Era300 and Move. But my Sonos Sub remains connected (paired with Era 300)In the other rooms Era100 has been ok, Play 1 pair and sub drop off but come back online My network strength is good to great and have no issue with TV PCs etc my Move won’t register I have done factory reset which temporarily solved Does Sonos have another system error in 2026
My Era100 has worked normally during the time I've had it, about 1 year. Now it suddenly doesn't connect with my TV or if it connects, it disconnects itself after a moment. I've tried everything I can imagine, with the TV and era100, and the app. Any ideas?
I am wondering if anybody has had problems with the Sonos app occasionally disconnecting while it plays music, from both Spotify and Apple Music. I submitted a diagnostic to Sonos, but the rep on my subsequent chat did not have a definitive solution. He suggested I phone CS, because they have better diagnostics.I tried disconnecting my wireless speakers on a hunch, but the problem recurred after that. Could these glitches be on the Sonos end? Has anybody definitively solved these? Thanks.
Setup is: 2x Era300 configured as a stereo pair + Sub Gen 3.Music is played from a desktop computer to the Era 300 via Bluetooth. Because the desktop frequently connects and disconnects from the system, the Sub randomly stops producing audio during Bluetooth playback.Once the issue occurs, the Sub does not recover on its own. Audio output from the Sub remains absent indefinitely until some form of reinitialization is performed (for example, reconnecting Bluetooth or power-cycling the Sub). I have never observed the Sub resume playback by itself after the issue has occurred. Observations:The room remains correctly bonded in the Sonos app.Sonos app playback works normally, and the Sub works normally when using Sonos native playback. However, after using Sonos app playback and then switching back to Bluetooth playback from the desktop, the Sub does not start working again. It remains absent from the Bluetooth source. The issue appears to occur only during Bluetooth playback.Disconnecting an
All of a sudden no sound is some out of my Roam. Sonos app ‘sees’ it and shows audio coming from it, but I hear nothing. Factory Reset twice with no luck. During Reset I hear audio.Play/Sound controls on Roam don’t appear to do anything either.Controlling system via iPad OS27 app.
Can I use this on YouTube
I have several alarms setup to wake up, they can be activated and deactivated with a toggle. They worked great forever, suddenly now it’s a huge effort to get them to deactivate or activate them. It’s either reboot the whole system, or phone, refresh the connection that seems to get it to respond. Or just doing it, several times. Why is it so hard to make it work? This seems to have changed in the last 6 months, so whatever update was performed has made it extremely difficult to accomplish a simple task.
I’ve registered my Sonos account with one email address but my Apple Music account is set up with a different email address. When I try and register Apple Music as a service in the Sonos app it fails every time. Is there a workaround?
My sonos one keeps dropping from the app. LED is flashing red I re-assign using rj45 connection ther wireless way wount work at all. it will be fine for a day .. then back to flashing red
