Arc Ultra Surround Sound change!

Hi All We are happy to announce to all Arc Ultra owners that the latest Sonos system update (issued today) includes a change to the behaviour of the “TV Level” surround setting slider option, in response to your feedback. Previously, the slider had an effect on the apparent volume of the Arc Ultra itself, as the Arc Ultra is involved with the rendering of the rear channels, even when rear speakers are present. Now, the new behaviour of the “TV Level” setting will be that it will only affect the rear drivers/speakers, rather than the rear channels. The result of this is that when adjusting “TV Level”, you will no longer hear the audio coming directly from the Arc Ultra increase or decrease with the slider. Instead, you will only hear the surround speakers raise or lower their volume with the slider. I hope you all enjoy the change we’ve made - happy listening! Error 1000

For more information and steps to try, please see this support article: Error 1000 when updating Sonos Hi, I wanted to add the last element to my Sonos set (SUB + 2x Era 300), - Arc. I get to the point of updating the software and I get "Error: 1000". And so on. I've already tried factory reset and moving closer to the router. It's always the same. Maybe you have some ideas or similar experiences?

Cannot proceed with Sonos Advance Replacement

Hi! I am getting my Arc Ultra replaced due to some issues. RMA process was created and I got the email to proceed with the replacement process. Yet, for the last week it’s been impossible to proceed with the advance replacement as there is an issue with the Sonos website, that makes it impossible to fill in the CC data. Both the CC number and CVV number fields are inactive, no matter how I try to select them to fill in the information, they cannot be deleted. Already contacted Sonos, that abkownledges the problem, but the only update is that they are trying to solve it. In the meantime, the whole replacement process is halted. Anyone having the same issue?

Surround setup for my TV

I told a salesman that I wanted to set up a 5.1 surround sound for my TV. He sold me 4 Era 100's, a Ray and a Sub. What's the best way to set these up? I seem to only be able to get 2 of the Era’s going and the TV remote only affects the volume for the Ray.

Arc cannot decode TrueHD after recent firmware upgrade

I have Arc + HDFury Arcana + UHD player and it worked well for a long time. But with recent firmware upgrade (since March upgrade I guess), I found Dolby TrudHD can no longer being decoded. (no sound at all, and in Sonos APP no audio codec) I have reset Arc and HDFury and there was no help. After some trial I found Dolby Digital Plus and DTS5.1 still works so that it should be no issue with my setup. The issue only happens with TrueHD audio, even for TrueHD 5.1. Could anyone also check if there is same issue? PS. issue is still present with April upgrade (version 16.7 build : 84163251)

Living Room Setup Issues

Excuse my ignorance as I’m a complete newbie to Sonos!! I have recently purchased the following components for my living room system: Arc Ultra 2 x Era 300 Sub 4 I currently have the Arc Ultra in the centre, with both Era 300s beside it as my living room isn’t really set up to have rear speakers (photo below for reference). When setting up in the Sonos app, it doesn’t seem to let me add the Era 300s to the same “room” as the Arc Ultra unless I add the Era 300s as surround speakers. I currently have the Arc Ultra in “Living Room”, and the Era 300s (as a stereo pair) with the Sub 4 in “Living Room 2”. This is proving problematic because as a default, when I use my TV remote to adjust the volume it only controls the Arc Ultra, and I then have to use the app to adjust the volume of the Era 300s. What is the best way to set up my system? Should I be setting up the Era 300s as surround speakers and finding a suitable position for them, or is there a way to have them in their current position

speaker drops - Theatre setup

I have an Arc Ultra 2, 2 ERA300s and the new Sub4. i have the arc connected to my TV (Arc port) I connected the Sub and the ERA300s to my Arc as surround/sub. The sub drops out every 20-30 seconds, and the era 300’s randomly disconnect. Sometimes one, sometimes the other, sometimes both, sometimes the surrounds and the sub all together. The only consistent product is the Arc Ultra 2. It’s not a duplicate IP issue (This response is ludicrous) I don’t get drops in streaming services in any other device on my network. My network works very well. I see so many posts about this issue and no one seems to have resolved it. This is extremely frustrating.

LG tv C9 and Sonos Beam/Play 3s - sound cutting out

Hello, I have an L9 C9 tv connected via eARC HDMI to a Sonos Beam, which is paired with two Play:3s. The sound keeps cutting out randomly for several seconds. I’ve disconnected the tv and Beam from power for several minutes, removed all other HDMI cables, tried different HDMI cables (all are 2.1), changed settings on the TV and connected devices (PS5, FireStick, and Virgin Media 360). Accidental muting while TV is turned off

Hello everyone, I have this problem. I have an Arc, Sub 3 and 2 Era 300. sometimes it happens that when I turn off the TV in the evening, in the morning on both the ARC and Era 300 the green gray light is on and the system is on mute. This happens irregularly, so I don't know what the cause is. Sonos Arc is connected to the TV via HDMI, in addition, I have a TV set-top box, Apple TV and a Blu-ray player connected via HDMI. Sonos Arc Ultra is warm when in standby mode

Hi, I've got a question about my Sonos Arc Ultra. I've noticed that when I turn off my TV at 11:00 pm, for example, my Arc Ultra is warm in the marked area in the morning. Is this normal? I ask because I understand that when I use my soundbar, it can be warm too. But when my TV is off and I don't play any music, should it stay cool? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, following a broadband problem, I have reconnected my Sony soundbar to my Samsung TV. However, my remote control will only turn the volume up, not down. I can only turn it down from my Sonos App. Any suggestions as to how I can restore the sound control please?

Amp HDMI audio input: treat more like a line-in?

Hi there, I’ve got a Sonos Amp connected to a computer. I use it more like a line-in and less like a TV. Ok, it’s almost completely unlike a TV, in fact. :) It’d be nice to treat this more like a line-in: Specify an auto-play volume level. Allow playback to other speakers while using the Amp to play something different. (naturally, some added delay is expected here, similar to the “Group Delay” which exists today.) Rename the input to something other than “TV” (this has been brought up a handful of times over the years) This one seems like it’d be an easy addition and would make the whole experience a lot less confusing. Naturally, I would not like the analog line-in feature of added latency***. 😉 I understand this is an atypical use-case for Sonos speakers, but wanted to bring it up anyway to see what others thought. (***) On the topic of latency, what’s the expected added latency for HDMI audio input? It’s low enough to be totally fine in isolation, but if I use the speakers powered

Ideal and simple connection

I have a Arc Ultra soundbar, a Sub 4, and an Amp driving two wired in-ceiling speakers in addition to a Samsung TV with HDMI ARC. The soundbar, subwoofer and amp can be connected via WIFI. Ideally I would like that the soundbar, the subwoofer and the in-ceiling speakers all be active whenever I turn the system on to watch TV or listen to music. Is there an ideal connection or order of component installation to make this process seamless and intuitive? I'd like to make this as simple as possible in the event that family members want to use the system and not have to learn any complicated sequencing in order to make it work. Thanks in advance.

In-wall front speakers with In-Ceiling surround vs Arc Ultra with In-Ceiling surround

I have read a lot of threads on here, but I have yet to see anyone with the Sonos in-wall fronts with In-ceiling 8 inch speakers. How would one compare the sound stage and depth between the two set ups. I really want to use the two in wall speakers as fronts due to aesthetics as well as the fact that I have a mental block telling me the in-walls will last much longer than a soundbar. However, everywhere I read, says the arc ultra is incredible. My question I guess is how much of a compromise is it to go with in-walls in front vs arc ultra? The system would be mixed use, as my living room is open floorplan and is really the only space in my house to entertain aside from the backyard. I want a great cinematic experience but even better music experience. I don’t want to invest in the wrong speakers and deal with headaches. Please help.

Beam with TV input does not stay grouped

Hi all, for several weeks now, when I attempt to group some Sonos speakers located in other rooms with the Beam soundbar that is playing TV audio, the group does not remain fixed, and the speakers are immediately separated. It always worked but now it does not. (Ungroup on auto play is turned off). Anybody has any clue? Thank you

Era 300 and Sub not working with Arc Ultra

I had a Beam Gen 2+ 2x Era 300+ Sub Gen 2 all paired and working fine. this week I bought a new Arc Ultra to replace the Beam. I managed to set up the Arc Ultra and Connect Era 300s and the Sub on the App. however, the Eras and Sub are not working - no sound when I play TV. Sound is only coming from the Arc.

Arc Ultra and Samsung Tv - audio drops

I have replaced an Arc with an Arc Ultra, attached via e-Arc to my Samsung QE55QN90B. They are associated with 2 Era 300s and a Gen 1 Sub. When playing from my NAS, ( Ethernet connected Jellyfin source), I get a short drop in audio every minute / couple of minutes. Only lasts a second. Sources from Atmos, to 5.1 to Stereo all experience it. As it all worked fine with the Arc, I’m assuming it is related to the Arc Ultra Any thoughts on cause / resolution ?

Dear sonos I wanted to touch base and share my experience with the new Sonos system that I recently upgraded to. After reading several positive reviews, I was excited to upgrade my 15-year-old Sony home theatre system to the Sonos system for $5000, which was three times the amount of my old system. However, I have to admit that I am disappointed with the sound quality. While playing music is great and I love it, watching a movie is a different story. The Arc Ultra sub 4 and two 300 era speakers are supposed to provide amazing sound, but in reality, the Arc Ultra is just a mono speaker with no adjustment for left and right channels. This results in an overwhelming center sound, making the overall home theatre experience disappointing. Moreover, I don't have the option to adjust the volume on the left and right channels, which I feel is missing from the package. The system needs more sound from these channels to truly wow me. Sonos arc sound bar

Can anyone tell me why Sonos support refuses to support their product? I’ve had issues with the Sonos arc sound bar since the day I bought it. Vendor I purchased it through directed me to go through Sonos support, but they refused to support their own product. The arc sound bar refuses to maintain a network connection, I’m at a loss because now it won’t even factory reset so it’s a very large paperweight at this point

I just recently upgraded to the LG C5 and my soundbar works fine but I can’t seem to get my subwoofer working properly. It’s in the same room and nothing has changed. Has anyone else had this issue?
