Controllers and Music services

I subscribe to both Amazon Unlimited and Apple Music.  I play these through the Sonos S2 App.  With Amazon the track I select always indicates whether the stream is HD or Ultra HD.  Apple does not give the same information so I do not know if the quality is at least 16/44.1? I avoid AirPlay as I know Apple quality then is less than CD quality.  Similarly when I play Amazon directly from that App via AirPlay the information merely shows AirPlay so presumably less than 16/44.1? Could Sonos provide this information in their App or is it down to Apple?  I just want to know the stream quality from whatever source ideally.  Be great to know this for my Bandcamp music too?  Any thoughts?

Hi, after some help please.  Been using Sonos for several years, S1.  Not used it for a few weeks and changed my phone, thought nothing of it, until I tried to access the music on my library on the NAS.  Can see all of the titles but on selecting it states “access denied”  Thought it was an issue with the phone, so deleted app and reinstalled, found the library on the NAS, It then updates the library and shows all of the albums etc again, select a track and again, access denied.  Tried on two phones, PC, same result each time.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong please?

I imagine someone answered this before, but can you stream CD quality music to S1 generation speakers using Amazon Music. I know you used to be able to stream CD quality music to Tidal using them way back when. Thanks!

Apple has recently released a new music app called Apple Classical. What is the highest streaming resolution available when used as an end point.

I usually listen to Scala Radio, which is available through Planet Radio. This morning when I opened the Sonos app it opened onto the Settings page (I haven’t been on that page for ages) When I went back to my home page and tried to play Scala I got a message saying that Planet Radio was not available in my country. I tried going back to settings took out Planet Radio to see if reinstalling it would help but when I search for it it’s no longer there. Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution please?I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT PLANET RADIO HAVE CHANGED THEIR NAME TO RAYO. THIS CAN BE ADDED AND ALL IS WELL AGAIN (Would have been handy for Planet Radio to let us know that this was happening!)

Hi gang, when I get to the point where I have to add my music library (from my synology NAS, I add: \\192.168..1.11\MusicI add username and password correctly as well.  The message I then get is: Error adding musicSonos was unable to add the music folderPlease check that the path to the folder, and the username and password if needed are correct.Reason: Access to the shared folder \\192.168..1.11\Music is denied  Have had this problem for almost a year and don’t know how to correct it. Windows Firewall is open for Sonos also in Windows settings, Power and Sleep is set to never. I use the Sonos controller S1, have got two Gen1 Play 5 speakers. Thanks for all your help!

Just got my Era 100 yesterday, unboxed it today.Loaded up my (Android) phone w/the Sonos appGot my Era 100 configuredWhen I go to try to link my Youtube Music account, I get an error “There was a problem loading the page”I have tried rebooting the Era, reinstalling the app, everything but lighting sage and waving it at the machine.  HALP! thanks.

I have several Sonos products around the house (bedroom, study (play 1’s as a stereo pair), lounge (sound bar, sub and play 1’s as surround pair) and kitchen (play 3’s as a stereo pair).All work fabulously apart from the stereo pair of Play 3’s in the kitchen. There is a distinct delay between the functionality from the app, to the speakers actually playing music, the same delay occurs when the volume is adjusted (the delay can be upto 5 seconds). The delay occurs across all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple, Radio etc). This does not happen for any of the other rooms. Some help to fix this would be really great please.

I’ve gotten zero help, I have to unplug my Playbar almost weekly or Spotify cuts in and out. It’s extremely annoying and unplugging my Playbar is difficult as it’s mounted over my fireplace. 

The thread below is closed, but it’s the exact same issue I’m having.  A large Apple Music playlist will not add to the queue.  I submitted diagnostics: 1166537982.  

How do I play Apple Music, Spotify and BBC Sounds through my Play1 when the option to do so is not available on Add Music Services?

Hi and hello,Starting to give up on Symfonisk now..Spotify app/integration missing in S2 app. Other integration works fine, like radios etc. Cant connect from within Spotify app from phone nor from laptop. Everything is updated (edit: and reinstalled).Any advice? Samsung S22MacBookUnifi network BrChris 

Anyone else lose the ability to turn crossfade on/off via their phone? For me specifically an iPhone 12 Version 15.11. Its there on my Mac though

The Services page at https://support.sonos.com/en-us/services is very useful, but could you please add a “Parental Control” option so it is easy to se which services support that on Sonos?

I’ve just set up a connect S15 with the S2 app on both my Mac running Mojave and my iphone. I’ve got the analog out on the Connect feeding an existing stereo. I added Bandcamp as a source and it works just fine; I can access and play all my purchases w/o issue. I added 6 folders containing various format music files (mostly mp3, some wav and flac) to the music library in the computer app as per user’s guide instructions. These files all appear in the library but none of them will play. I get an ‘unable to play (file name) unable to connect to (folder name). I can play these files on my computer, I can burn them to cd-r. Any idea won’t Sonos doesn’t want to play them? I just submitted a diagnostic # 1930119625.

I must be using the wrong terminologies when searching for an answer to this. There are times when I want to use surround sound for movies etc, and there are times when I want to have just stereo for music.  So, I added a separate Sonos account on my ipad.  However, the ipad won’t let me sign in to Sonos with my new user name and pw.  Here is what I get: status_code "401 UNAUTHORIZED" message "authorize flow not properly initiated"  I can’t be the only person wanting to do this. There are lots of questions about similar challenged on this community but I haven’t been able to find an answer as to how to have two separate system settings for 1)surround and 2)hifi stereo.Background info:Beam Gen 2, Two Era 300’s, Sub mini All in one room (no interest in having music in any other room) Using iphone for Sonos app LG C1 tv Comcast “

After entering about half of the albums I want into a playlist, it will not allow any more albums. Recieve a message “unable to add …..to ….playlist.  These are albums on my computer.

I like to play music in Dolby Atmos. But unfortunately it only works through the Sonos app. I'm annoyed by the inaccurate search, the slowness of the app, the long loading times. It drives me crazy.Is Sonos planning a fix?

Various people have messed around with my system ( including myself!) . It is a complete mess and I want to redefine rooms/ speaker groups. How do I achieve this without the need to completely go back to factory settings?

hi all. For certain podcasts I am getting the message - the connection to myTuner radio was lost - and podcast will not play. Other myTuner podcasts do play OK. I have refreshed source etc. Specific podcats are:DishKermode and MayoCrucible moments Thanks for any helps

Just purchased my first Sonos device (the Beam Gen2) and have it connected to the Apple Music service and my music library using the Sonos app on my phone.  Only using SonosVoice and so far it is working great. My family also uses Apple’s Family Sharing and my wife has her own library.  To get her library connected to the Beam is it as simple as using the Sonos app on her phone to connect to the Beam?   Does she create her own account or use the account I created when I first set up the Beam? Will the Beam’s SonosVoice assistant be able to identify both my voice and my wife’s voice and then use the appropriate libraries?

I recently subscribed to a lesser-known music service called "HarmonyTunes," but I'm facing difficulties adding it to my Sonos app for playback through my speakers.Issue Details: Service Recognition: Despite HarmonyTunes being a relatively new music service, it claims to be compatible with Sonos systems. However, when I attempt to add it to my Sonos app as a music service, it doesn't show up in the available options for selection. This problem seems to have fallen off the watchlist at SONOS.  I called over a year ago after I upgraded my NAS to a SSD to store my music local for my SONOS system.  The last time I called I was told “SONOS knows about the problem they are working on a fix.”   The error ‘//outta/l/music” is no longer available … blah blah.  I can mount the location using a Windows 10 and Windows 11 system as well as a MacBook Pro so that eliminates and possible connection issues.    Has ANYONE connect an external disk to TP Link Router and had success getting the SONOS app to work?
