Controllers and Music services

I just received the Roam and am starting to use it. When I’m on wifi, it works great. The minute I go off wifi onto 5G, the app is completely useless. The music that I’m listening to still plays, but I can’t do anything else via the Sonos App. This seems like a pretty big limitation considering that most people will probably be using the speaker on the go (beach, boat, park, etc). So when you’re away, it’s really just another portable speaker. I’m assuming most people will start to discover this and wonder why, as Sonos didn't really mention that this would happen. 

Okay, the title is quite a handful, but I couldn’t come up with a simpler one (suggestions welcome) so bear with me.This is a summary of what I learnt to fix my problem based on these other topics which are quite a mess to read through:and many more...In this post I hope to help out all the people that were using an iTunes network library, either from a computer or on a server to play music on their sonos systems. Specifically I’ll focus on the usability, since I was used to just copying their iTunes folder on to my NAS and have it work perfectly as a NAS music Library with Sonos and how to get it to work with the new updated Music App, that replaced iTunes. This might also be helpful for people with playlist issues or general issues on getting their new OSX Music Library to work with Sonos.General Information: Since Apple decided to replace iTunes with Music, it no longer creates an XML file for the library. IOS has Sonopad... Android has.... nothing. Am I alone in finding the S2 app clunky and outdated - it works but that's about all that's going for it. I especially hate the colour-themed playing screen which can easily provide a sickly yellow background depending on the album art or station logo. 

Hello Everyone!To get to the point from the title. Sonos Trueplay for a 5.1 surround can only be tuned using an IOS device. As a programmer I can understand because of the hardware differences between different Android phones.I own a Sonos move, so why can't the built in Mics for that unit tune my Tv room surround? The Move would just simply be used as a external Mic to pick up sounds around the room( might be a little too heavy moving the speaker up and down haha) or would Sonos be able to create a Microphone as a accessory purchase.Don

Ik erger mij te pletter aan de gebrekkige samenwerking van mijn SONOS en mijn Fairphone. Is it right you should have an i-phone to enjoy SONOS MOVE? My Fairphone (the only smartphone I want to use) doesn’t agree with SONOS. Why didn’t anybody tell me that before?

I can’t find anywhere this has been requested before, which I find surprising. I think there should be the ability to select multiple rooms when configuring an alarm. Yes I know you can select to include grouped rooms.  But this relies on someone checking that rooms are grouped correctly before going to bed.  We have tried and failed to do this consistently in a busy household - it’s not a satisfactory solution. The alarm should have the ability to group rooms to achieve the desired outcome. We have tried setting the same alarm up in multiple rooms, but this produces an impossibly pronounced echo effect!!

I recently started a free trial of Apple Music. I have an iTunes library of about 32,500 tracks which are currently being uploaded to the Apple Music cloud.I have downloaded a couple of albums from Apple Music which appear in my iTunes library and in the Apple Music library, but, do not appear in the main Sonos library.Is this usual? 

Hello, I have a strange situation : on my iPad, if I play youtube or youtube music, if I use airplay, I can see my Sonos and stream to it. on my iPad, or Android phone, if I clic on “cast” icon, I see no device connected.That is not cool, as if I use airplay and close youtube app, the sound stop. And Also I can not use my android phone.With Sonos APP it works well, but in sonos app I can not add music to my library and playlist. How can I manage this to work ?Thanks in advance for your help.

my s1 controller has not worked on my Mac for a while now. works fine on my iPhone I have not changed my router or any settings. 

My sound switches to night mode randomly throughout each day.  Is there a way to keep night mode off?

Hi, I have a 24” touchscreen monitor built into the wall (Mainly to scroll through a photos screensaver).More a question to Sonos tech’s or designers, can there be touchscreen mode/option in the Sonos windows settings?The size of the volume and track playing is terrible to adjust with a touch finger.!  I cant slide to well with my finger but the tapping on the volume bar makes it move a little each tap.Even selecting songs could be better.Sort off like the Sonos phone app,,, or just making the volume bar longer and tracking bar longer for finer adjustment across the top of the player. Bigger buttons and menus too would be great?Thanks.! 

I have iPhone XR 14.6i installed it and set up 2 sonos one speakers. It does the setup and then asks to register and update. But then it is unable to do it and says unable to update at this time. Upon multiple tries, same result occurs.I click ‘will do later’ but then I keeps showing that speakers need updating. Then I try to go back to update, and then it starts crashing, saying unable to connect. if I give up and go to it again some other time, it is not even able to connect to Sonosite and just stop working. I have uninstalled and installed multiple times without any result. At the moment, these speakers are dud to me. Need some sorting out.I have tried this on iPhone max as well 14.6 and same result occurs.  

Despite several old threads dealing with the lack of bookmarks, there's no coherent explanation why this is not possible or implemented. Who would be responsible for this feature - Sonos, Audible or both?And, does Audiobooks offer a bookmark feature?There's an ancient Linux program on github which claims to be able to provide sonos bookmarking, but I doubt it actually works by reading the issues reported. 

I’m playing a Spotify album. In the Windows app, the app/UI constantly refreshes (loading icon appears in the queue area every 2 seconds, time values and seek bar flash). Hey,I was just wondering if there’s any future release planned containing profiles for audio settings to be shown on the main player screen on the app for easy switching?? EQ/sub/trueplay settings??I like to turn the sub off at night, flatten out the EQ and engage trueplay to make it more subtle for nighttime listening, but it’s a ball ache going into the settings and changing them all manually, wondering if there is scope for these to be saved in audio profiles to be easily selectable from the player UI. RegardsSteve. 

Unless I really missed it, I don't see an option to mute the soundbar when playing music. I configured the surround speakers to play 'full music'. It would be nice to be able to turn off or mute the soundbar only so that I just get the full stereo sound on the surround speakers only.

I have around 14 different Sonos speakers operating across one network controlled by the S1 controller. I want to add a SONOS Roam for the bathroom however I understand that it can’t be added to the S1 network (please someone confirm this or not). I have a two part question: a) Can I set up and operate both S1 and S2 on the same network and b) can i install and operate both S1 and S2 apps on the same IPhone? 

does using 3.5mm line-in results in lower sound quanlity than using Sonos app?

Hi allI have a 5 - 7 year old mixed system with Playbar, Sub, Play 3, Play 5 and Connect. My Play 5’s are S1 only so I haven’t done any updates since S2 was launched for fear of them no longer working. Everything works great now so I have no need to update.We have just added an extension to the house, and so I jumped on eBay and bought an old 2nd hand Connect so it would be S1 compatible. When I just tried to add the Connect, the Sonos S1 app (tried both on Android and on PC) both require me to update before it will let me add the new device.Can I add the new (old) connect without updating? Or can I update the apps and stay in S1 world? I’m just worried that if I press the update button it will update me to S2 and then I can’t use my Play5’s anymore. I have no idea what the new features of S2 are but I’m fairly sure I don’t need them. Everything currently works great! My PC Currently running v11.2.3.My Android currently running 11.2.10Cheers - Matt

Connect S15 er tilsluttet en analog forstærker med ligeledes analoge højttalere, og jeg styrer hele herligheden med en iPhone 11 og iPad Pro.Desværre oplever jeg gentagne gange tilslutningsproblemer ved brug af IDAGIOs egen app, og hver gang foreslår deres support, at jeg tilslutter via AirPlay, men problemet er, at min Sonos Connect S15 ikke har AirPlay. Da jeg for kort tid siden ville teste Primephonic og deres app, konstaterede jeg, at denne KUN kan tilslutte via AirPlay. IDAGIOs app kan (for det meste) selv finde min Connect UDEN AirPlay, men det svinger som sagt meget.Mit spørgsmål er derfor, om der er en genvej til at løse disse tilslutningsproblemer - primært om det er muligt at forbinde Son

I have two SiriusXM accounts, one for each car. This allows me to use two streams as long as each stream is started from different accounts. This will work OK from the Select Music Source and Alexa is set to use one specific account. The problem is when using Favorites because there’s no way to distinguish accounts. It would be nice if there was a way to easily see what account is tied to a favorite before using it.
