Amazon HD / Airplay vs Sonos

Hi,

Testing Amazon HD vs Spotify.

On the Amazon app when using Airplay, tapping the Ultra HD logo of a song confirms that it is playing 24-bit / 44.1 khz.

Still on the Amazon music app, when selecting my room (same Sonos speakers), the app shows that it cannot confirm the bit-rate.

My question is: is it only the info that is not available thru Sonos or is there an audio quality advantage to use Airplay?

Thanks

Nicolas

Sonos only supports up to 16-bit/44.1kHz from Amazon Music HD. So even though the Amazon app is showing 24-bit when streaming over AirPlay, it is more than likely being downsampled to 16-bit/44.1kHz. I would also guess you are getting the same quality audio using AirPlay as you are playing directly from the Amazon app.
