Think it’s since the last one or two updates but in my case on iPhone & iPad bottom icon bar changes to white with black icons and chosen icon goes blank when selected. Bottom icon bar should usually be black with white icons. Only occurs when now playing is not displayed. When now playing screen is displayed, everything is as normal. Tried old iOS version of the Sonos app and issue is not present. Tried deleting and redownloading app but makes no difference.
As the subject line says - I can play to my neighbour's Sonos system via Airplay - should I be able to do this?As backgrounder, I had an issue when I paired my Move with their Move, via wifi - just to see how they sounded as a pair.I then ended up having all kinds of issues with my Sonos system becoming entangled with theirs.Despite not being connected to their wifi and resetting the Moves to their rightful owners/wifi, I was still seeing their Sonos speakers via the Sonos app, when logged into my wifi and their email address intermittently appeared in my App log in page, instead of my own - it seemed their system had become baked into my app...After resetting the iOS app didn’t stop this happening, I appear to have eventually resolved this by:Wiping my iPhone and reinstalling the Sonos app Factory resetting my router Factory resetting/re-adding all of my system in the Sonos appMy Sonos system appears to now be stable, though I have had one of my surround One’s drop off twice. However,
We have a favourite lullaby playlist on spotify that plays in the children’s bedrooms that is added to the sonos favourites. I also have a spotify family account with 4 accounts added to spotify. The childrens playlist is usually started each evening by physically pressing play on the speaker. When this is done occasionally it will default back to my own spotify account (one of the four), preventing me from using that on another group or within the spotify application itself. When this happens I cannot seem to change which account the childrens playlist plays from. I’ve tried from their group/zone stopping the playlist, changing the account on the spotify music source, and then choosing the playlist from the sonos favourites to no avail. I have also stopped the playlist, changed the account on the spotify music source, and then played something random from within the spotify source before going back to select their playlist from the sonos favourites. But in all cases it just seems to de
Bonjour à tous le monde, je possède plusieurs produits sonos chez moi et je me suis séparé d une sonos Roam ,je ne possède plus l enceinte mais par contre elle apparaît toujours hors ligne sur l application….comment l enlever ??d avance merci
I’m running 5 for 5… Sonos requires an update, and my system completely stops working. I mostly use the system for playing my record player. LOVE the speaker when it works. It’s a doorknob right now. Infuriating.
I am sure this has been discussed before but a search for anything around ‘volume’, ‘controls’, ‘slider’ or ‘app’ comes back with 100’s of results. As a user of the Sonos app on IOS, do I need an excessively small thumbprint to stop the slider attempting a sneaky move as I lift my thumb off the dot? I like even numbers. If I set the volume to 8, I don’t want the app to sneak to 7 or 9 as I take my thumb off the slider.Add slider clicks, take away the sneaky AI that decides it prefers its own volume setting.Thanks.
Wasn’t sure of this, but was curious what other field techs & installers have found? Thanks!
I am by no means a sound engineer, but the mid and low range frequencies are much richer on my passive Bang & Olufsen architectural speakers (which are powered by the Amp) when I stream through my Android TV versus other devices (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) that aren’t directly connected to the Arc via eArc. I understand how many permutations are involved there. I have tried to control for as many of them as I can. What I am really wondering is if the Arc woofers produce frequencies from the passive speakers in certain configurations with the Amp and not in others that seem almost identical? Thanks for any insights.
Hi. I must have changed a setting from within the Sonos app as when I play music from Amazon I no longer get an indication of whether I am playing a HD, Ultra HD or Dolby Atmos track which is annoying to say the least! At the time of me taking my screenshot (below), I was actually playing music but the Living Room section still shows a reference to the TV. Any help would be most appreciated 🙏
It seems that another way for users to view and manage their saved Albums and Playlists would be in the ‘My Account’ section of the web app. The phone app stores this data, so it can’t be difficult for Sonos to upload and publish the lists in a personal Profile section titled ‘My Sonos’. Then using the web app interface, a user could edit/delete/export the album/song listings - but not add to it. It would be ideal to review the albums & songs on these lists, check for duplicates or simply to edit them. Does this sound like a useful idea?
Recently the behavior when scrolling in the desktop controller for Mac has been very frustrating. The menu keeps reverting to prior menu when scrolling.Example, when you search an artist, and then begin to scroll through their albums, the controller reverts back to previous menu listing the artists. It is almost impossible to scroll down unless you go very slowly without this behavior happening. This behavior is occurring on multiple laptops in our household using desktop controller. Anyone else with this issue? System info: Sonos Controller for Mac, Version: 14.8, Sonos OS: S2
Hello,We are going to have a party and many people have access to our wifi. Can I protect the Sonos app with a password or something so no one can tamper with the playlist and other things?
One problem is old another appears to be new.The old problem is on just 1 PC, and, it is the PC where the controller app was first installed. Whenever there is an update to the PC controller application, it causes the system to reboot. I’ve learned to anticipate this when the menu shows an update is available. But I’m getting tired of this behavior. Having multiple Windows computers, the PC controller updates do not cause any of those other systems to reboot, why just this one?Today while the system which has the reboot issue was busy, I did a few music library updates but when I tried to select Update Music Library, that was disabled. Going to a different system to use the PC controller there allowed me to trigger an update of the Sonos music libraries.Seems like more hoops to jump through and IMO that’s not good.</rant>
Would be nice if Sonos create an alamarm clock that indicates the time.Is there any news regarding this?
Hi, I am returning a Roam speaker to Sonos as it’s within the return window, and have factory re-set it. It still shows as ‘offline’ in the app though but it does not show up as an item under the ‘About my system’ list. I phoned Sonos and they had me re-set the app - it was still there. They had me re-set the app, then log in to a new account (using my normal details mind you - separate household?), then add the Roam to that account which I managed to do while on the phone to Sonos. Then the guy said it should be ok so we ended the call. So then I factory re-set the Roam again and re-set the app again and logged into my normal account/household (which the Sonos guy told me to do) and the bloody thing is still there. Will this thing just disappear of it’s own accord at some point? I will try re-booting my router later today but can’t right now as I’m working at home.
Not sure if this is related to the SVC updates performed on my voice enabled speakers over the last 24 hours, but now when I access any speaker on my Sonosnet network via “ip-address:1400/support/review”, any voice-enabled speakers on the network that are currently playing cut out for approx 10-15 seconds before resuming.i.e. Any Sonos Ones that are playing (across multiple rooms) cut out, including the primary “wired” Sonos One (to enable Sonosnet), but my Play-5 Gen 2’s keep playing. Changing the IP address in the URL to another speaker makes no difference. Not a big deal, just wondering in anyone else is seeing this behavior.Just in case Sonos are interested…Diagnostic # : 1093743148For this diagnostic the wired Sonos One in the Office was playing and I accessed the URL from a wired PC also in the office using the IP address of one of my Play-5’s in the URL. The Office Sonos One stopped playing for 15 seconds before resuming. Ross.
I’m surprised that there is a gap in the Metal/Hard Rock category. There are several metal stations based on year groups, but where is the Hard Rock? New Lords of Metal plays a lot of great new metal but no hard rock? So, where is the new hard rock? It’s not even in the Rock category either? It’s so funny, there’s multiple obscure channels playing the same death metal, but where’s the Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, Black Label Society, Rob Zombie …
Hi,I’ve seen topics about this issue but these are rather old. I don’t know if the fix that was developed is still applicable or that it’s already merged with later general updates. So the issue is that, after my Sonos speaker has been playing music for a while (from Spotify, Stingray, whatever), it starts repeating a track continuously. When it starts repeating, the controller shows track info that it is supposed to be playing, but instead it plays this track over and over.To stop this I have to switch to another channel. Is this still being under development and is there a fix for this issue?I’ve generated a diagnostics report, the number is 1028674601.
With such an utter useless controller - the speakers just take up space & power! I have a 1, 3 & 5 if anyone wants them - time to find a system that actually just work!!!!
Guess there was another “update” (to improve the user experience- funny) - as the app has got even worse - if that is even possible. A proper tech firm should buy Sonos and fix the basics!
I own an Arc, 2 Subs, 2 One's and a Move. Today my system performed a hardware update but there is nothing listed on Sonos Website under release notes regarding this update. Is anyone familiar with what this hardware update included? Thanks in advance for any answers
It can’t only be me! I have a 1,3 & 5 (gen 1 & 2) the sound is great…..but the app - with its S1 & S2 - keeps dropping speakers off - then “can’t connect” - is there a different way to control the speakers?
Once again my frustration has reached a peak with this company. There are incessant problems and customer experience seems to be unimportant to the company.A week ago my SONOS Roam disappears from both the iPhone app and the desktop app, the usual run around begins digging out this and that “How to” article because I forgot exactly what I did two months ago the last time it failed, anyway SONOS don’t care.Yesterday too I was forced to update the iPhone app (but the desktop app worked fine!). So I upgraded it. Then I found that the desktop app too now had to be updated so I updated that.Today I see no devices listed in my desktop app and when I restart the desktop app I am told to “Register my products” and must now do this before I can use the app and my devices. I don’t want to stop what I’m doing (I work as a software developer and I’m very very busy) I just wanted to listen to a classical radio internet station. So I try the iPhone app and that immediately tells me I must finish sett
I only found year+ old threads on this topic. Is this a feature Sonos plans on implementing? YTM has a great new music suggestion algorithm but it's useless if I can't feed the like from Sonos back to YTM. Help!
Are there any plans to build out he desktop app with more functionality; e.g., bringing Roon labs features? The desktop app seems stuck in a 1984 UI look/feel/function form? There is no recommendation engine or artist/track background information provided, like in Roon Labs. Roon Labs does not provide mobile functionality, you can only use it at home. Hence, two build outs are necessary. Thanks!
