Hello,We are going to have a party and many people have access to our wifi. Can I protect the Sonos app with a password or something so no one can tamper with the playlist and other things?
One problem is old another appears to be new.The old problem is on just 1 PC, and, it is the PC where the controller app was first installed. Whenever there is an update to the PC controller application, it causes the system to reboot. I’ve learned to anticipate this when the menu shows an update is available. But I’m getting tired of this behavior. Having multiple Windows computers, the PC controller updates do not cause any of those other systems to reboot, why just this one?Today while the system which has the reboot issue was busy, I did a few music library updates but when I tried to select Update Music Library, that was disabled. Going to a different system to use the PC controller there allowed me to trigger an update of the Sonos music libraries.Seems like more hoops to jump through and IMO that’s not good.</rant>
Would be nice if Sonos create an alamarm clock that indicates the time.Is there any news regarding this?
Hi, I am returning a Roam speaker to Sonos as it’s within the return window, and have factory re-set it. It still shows as ‘offline’ in the app though but it does not show up as an item under the ‘About my system’ list. I phoned Sonos and they had me re-set the app - it was still there. They had me re-set the app, then log in to a new account (using my normal details mind you - separate household?), then add the Roam to that account which I managed to do while on the phone to Sonos. Then the guy said it should be ok so we ended the call. So then I factory re-set the Roam again and re-set the app again and logged into my normal account/household (which the Sonos guy told me to do) and the bloody thing is still there. Will this thing just disappear of it’s own accord at some point? I will try re-booting my router later today but can’t right now as I’m working at home.
Not sure if this is related to the SVC updates performed on my voice enabled speakers over the last 24 hours, but now when I access any speaker on my Sonosnet network via “ip-address:1400/support/review”, any voice-enabled speakers on the network that are currently playing cut out for approx 10-15 seconds before resuming.i.e. Any Sonos Ones that are playing (across multiple rooms) cut out, including the primary “wired” Sonos One (to enable Sonosnet), but my Play-5 Gen 2’s keep playing. Changing the IP address in the URL to another speaker makes no difference. Not a big deal, just wondering in anyone else is seeing this behavior.Just in case Sonos are interested…Diagnostic # : 1093743148For this diagnostic the wired Sonos One in the Office was playing and I accessed the URL from a wired PC also in the office using the IP address of one of my Play-5’s in the URL. The Office Sonos One stopped playing for 15 seconds before resuming. Ross.
I’m surprised that there is a gap in the Metal/Hard Rock category. There are several metal stations based on year groups, but where is the Hard Rock? New Lords of Metal plays a lot of great new metal but no hard rock? So, where is the new hard rock? It’s not even in the Rock category either? It’s so funny, there’s multiple obscure channels playing the same death metal, but where’s the Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, Black Label Society, Rob Zombie …
Hi,I’ve seen topics about this issue but these are rather old. I don’t know if the fix that was developed is still applicable or that it’s already merged with later general updates. So the issue is that, after my Sonos speaker has been playing music for a while (from Spotify, Stingray, whatever), it starts repeating a track continuously. When it starts repeating, the controller shows track info that it is supposed to be playing, but instead it plays this track over and over.To stop this I have to switch to another channel. Is this still being under development and is there a fix for this issue?I’ve generated a diagnostics report, the number is 1028674601.
With such an utter useless controller - the speakers just take up space & power! I have a 1, 3 & 5 if anyone wants them - time to find a system that actually just work!!!!
Guess there was another “update” (to improve the user experience- funny) - as the app has got even worse - if that is even possible. A proper tech firm should buy Sonos and fix the basics!
I own an Arc, 2 Subs, 2 One's and a Move. Today my system performed a hardware update but there is nothing listed on Sonos Website under release notes regarding this update. Is anyone familiar with what this hardware update included? Thanks in advance for any answers
It can’t only be me! I have a 1,3 & 5 (gen 1 & 2) the sound is great…..but the app - with its S1 & S2 - keeps dropping speakers off - then “can’t connect” - is there a different way to control the speakers?
Once again my frustration has reached a peak with this company. There are incessant problems and customer experience seems to be unimportant to the company.A week ago my SONOS Roam disappears from both the iPhone app and the desktop app, the usual run around begins digging out this and that “How to” article because I forgot exactly what I did two months ago the last time it failed, anyway SONOS don’t care.Yesterday too I was forced to update the iPhone app (but the desktop app worked fine!). So I upgraded it. Then I found that the desktop app too now had to be updated so I updated that.Today I see no devices listed in my desktop app and when I restart the desktop app I am told to “Register my products” and must now do this before I can use the app and my devices. I don’t want to stop what I’m doing (I work as a software developer and I’m very very busy) I just wanted to listen to a classical radio internet station. So I try the iPhone app and that immediately tells me I must finish sett
I only found year+ old threads on this topic. Is this a feature Sonos plans on implementing? YTM has a great new music suggestion algorithm but it's useless if I can't feed the like from Sonos back to YTM. Help!
Are there any plans to build out he desktop app with more functionality; e.g., bringing Roon labs features? The desktop app seems stuck in a 1984 UI look/feel/function form? There is no recommendation engine or artist/track background information provided, like in Roon Labs. Roon Labs does not provide mobile functionality, you can only use it at home. Hence, two build outs are necessary. Thanks!
Help me to understand how I can turn my TV (HTML ARC) on and not have to adjust the volume up every time. Why can’t the Sonos Amp hold its last volume position? This is the way audio devices have worked since forever. If I am missing something, let me know. Can this be a software update? What is the meaning of have it default to 0 anyway?
I can access my favourite songs, albums and stations easily via the mobile app, but only seem to access them via the PC app as a single mixed up section called Favourites, which is awful. I can however see a Playlists section in both apps. Seems the PC app has no concept of My Sonos like the mobile app.
There are days when you don’t want your regular alarms to execute.
Since mid December Sonos Alarms stopped grouping our rooms. The first Alarm of the day is the main issue, it will not Group our 5 Rooms. After we manually Group all 5 Rooms and reset sound (some rooms stop playing sound for some reason even when First Alarm is Grouped) all Alarms, more than 6, come on throughout the day for the most part. Except for 2 stations in the evening that we stream, we hear the Chime. Sonos or Tunein will no longer stream these two stations, but will stream if reset manually. Several interactions with Sonos staff have failed to resolve these issues, we remade Alarms, rebooted router, modem several times and more. We paid a bundle to upgrade Sonos system 2 years ago, 4 Amps, 1 Port, Move Speaker, Sonos now only provides frustration. We suspect an upgrade to some software program in Sonos, Tunein or ? in mid December threw things off. Perhaps Tunein? We are on the “Free” Tunein. Alarms all worked just fine for many years until December. We have over
If I connect a Sonos Amp with 2 non-Sonos speakers and sub…Will I be able to control the volume on each individual speaker through the Sonos app? Thanks in advance!
Received notification this evening April 21, 2022 for System Update. Wondering what I got?Inventory with updated hardware versionOne SL (left) 1.28.1.6-1.1One SL (right) 1.28.1.6-1.1Playbar 1.9.1.11-1.2Amp 1.24.1.12-1.2Sub 1.8.6.6-1.2Port 1.29.1.7-1.2OS S2 14.6 (build 68228040)
Recently the S2 app on my Andriod 11 phone stopped working, showing only blank placeholder screens for every function except speaker firmware update. Uninstalling and re-installing didn’t help. It was apparently insisting that a speaker firmware update was mandatory. However, all earlier versions of the S2 app on my other device continued to work just fine, so I reverted to an older version of the S2 app on my phone, and it worked fine there as well.So apparently this is a new heavy-handed attempt by Sonos to force firmware updates by crippling the app until you comply. Why not just update the firmware? Because then it won’t be the same product that works with my various platforms now - Sonos firmware updates of the past have permanently removed compatibility and functionality and are irreversible. There is no commitment to warn users of this in the release notes, so firmware updates can’t be trusted.
I was listening to LiveXLive on Sonos and unwittingly clicked the dislike 🛇 icon (as shown in the screenshot below) even though I liked the song. The station immediately began playing another song. How can I see what the initial song was? And how can I reverse my vote from dislike to like for that initial song? For that matter can I see all the songs I have liked (or “hearted”)? Regards,Roel
Hi.Are there Finnish users online? Through which online radio service have you found YLE local radio channels?Has Yle (Finnish Proadcasting Co) local/areal channel been taken away from offering of the online-service providers? You have any idea?SonosRadio has not been broadcasting YLE programs for a long time, but now they have disappeared as well from other internet radio providers I have used.I understand that the problem is related to the fact that YLE is not a commercial operator but a Finnish state-owned production company.Regards
Does anyone else feel like they are getting ripped off by Sonos. I bought many products just a few years ago and now they have a new Sonos 2 app that is requiring I buy all new products (at a pathetic discount) in order to use their system? AND… to top it off, they have you return your equipment to them so that they can, no doubt, refurbish and resell at a premium. I LOVED my sonos, but then I went to buy a new Sonos Roam for my wife for Mother’s Day. That is when I learned that I can’t have the S1 app and Sonos 2 app work together… nope… I basically need to upgrade all of my perfectly fine equipment (soundbar, sub, play 5, connect) just to move to a new Sonos 2 app???? WHAT an EPIC ripoff. I am glad there are new competitors in this space. Sonos lost a customer and everyone I know that I used to tell sonos about, will get an updated email from me. I feel completely ripped off!
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way (I’m not), but the way I'm marketed to in the Sonos S2 app feels thirsty and crass. Most companies allow their users to opt out of marketing communications because that decision should really be up to the users. And before anyone suggests App Preferences > Allow Pop-up Messages, it's more than just disabling pop-up ads. The little blue badge that appears over the Inbox icon and also over the My Sonos tab icon in the app tray preys on the learned behaviour that notification badges are calls-to-action and get many users to try to figure out how to make them go away. Users are forced to view these ads in order to clear the badge. It's manipulative and encourages the notification anxiety/addiction problems that most ethical app developers are finally starting to move away from. It's especially crass because I have literally paid for your products already, so putting self-promoting ads in an app that only works if I/someone gave you money for somet
