I’m using Sonos v. 15.1.1 on macOS Ventura on an M2 Mac Mini. I have a music folder under a OneDrive folder. I’ve given Sonos read/write access to this folder under File Sharing and Sonos is turned on under Accessibility, but when I try to add the folder in the Sonos app, I get an error message that “Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Access to the shared folder “//MY_NAME-Mac-mini/Music” is denied - check the username and/or password” I created a music folder outside of the OneDrive folder and there’s no issue adding that folder, so it must have something to do with OneDrive. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sonos too. Appreciate any suggestions!
I am based in Ireland and I usually use my Sonos to listen to BBC 6 Music.Recently the stream is intermittantly interrupted with a message saying that in mid-2023, I will no longer be able to stream BBC via Sonos. It says to contact the manufacturers of my smart speaker for more information. It’s not clear if the issue it with BBC, Sonos/Sonos Radio or TuneIn (I’m aware there are other BBC/TuneIn issues).Do we know if BBC have any plans to make BBC Sounds available on Sonos outside of the UK?
Located in US. BBC Sounds is not in my list to add a service. Yet all recent support says it should be. I would love to llsten to BBC,,, Any ideas?
What sample rates for FLAC files work with Sonos Music Library. I have music from a variety of sources, so they tend to vary.Sonos documentation does not specify: https://support.sonos.com/en-ca/article/supported-audio-formats-for-sonos-music-library, since I’m using S2 - 24-bit should work and this list should mention sample rates is some aren’t going to play.I get the unsupported sample rate 24b96000Hz and 24b192000Hz errors. 44100Hz seems to work, but that’s 16 bit? Before I go downsampling my entire music library this would be good to know. I’m aware I could host a server to do the work or use Plex.
I have a strange problem. In one room I have 2 sonos five in stereo. After trueplay is done, they are out of balance. I have to slide the balance 5 points to the right. If i toggle trueplay on off, it is very noticeable. with trueplay off balance is in center 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway to fix this without using the balance control?
Why can’t sonos and Spotify get along anymore? It used to be seamless, and then Sonos changed their software. You are a speaker company. You should be able to play my damn music! Regret purchasing.
Hi. I have scoured all the boards here and the web and cannot rectify this issue. Everything on the Sonos FAQs cites is 10+ but with 13 all sorts of stuff changed. I have a library on a usb-connected drive on my Mac desktop. This library was connected to my system previously no issues. Upgraded to Ventura, cleared everything and tried to add the library back, it goes through all the steps then says “Sonos was unable to add the music folder. No paths could be added as a share.”firewall is open for sonosdisk permissions open. file sharing open. can’t even get mobile app to recognize the computer to try and add it that way Anyone else have this and solve it?
I am missing the option to add a title from seach view to the actual player at the end of the plalist or the “play next” option.I only see the option to add a title to a seperate stored playlist or to play the tile right now.I am working with the Android S2 app
Looking for some indication that Sonos is working on M1/M2 support for their desktop app. And BTW I sincerely hope Sonos is planning on feature parity for the desktop app as well.
HiDespite checking Windows 10 firewall allows private access to Sonos controller and Sonos library, I am still geting "Unable to play 'xyz.mp3' - unable to conect to //room/userSometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. Has anybody had this?
I have an old system with ZP80s, ZP100s and 2 CR100s. I have not updated the firmware on my system since Sonos announced they would no longer support the CR100.Most of the time, I listen to my favorite radio station through TuneIn. A couple of days ago, I tried to listen to my favorite station and got the following message“Unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to TuneIn.” I knew this was coming, but was hoping it would happen after I take my dirt nap.I ran upstairs to my Windows computer and launched the old version of the Sonos controller and was able to use TuneIn to listen to my favorite radio station.Every once in a while, I now get a commercial coming through my Sonos from TuneIn. They are local commercials and fairly annoying. Please note, I am not complaining about anything. It’s just a sad fact that the things we were told about our old CR100s is coming to fruition.I can get around the TuneIn supplied commercials with a blue tooth gizmo and an antiquated c
So….… Last Saturday(09/12/20), all of a sudden, I was able to control Sonos from the Lock Screen on my iPhone. It worked on mine and my wife’s phone. When we woke up Sunday morning, it was gone. Sonos. Make it work, we are tired of waiting. *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the community guidelines.*
On my mobile Pandora app I am able to download some albums or stations so I can play them if my internet hiccups. Is there a way to do this with Sonos? I.e., could I have Sonos download playlist tracks so they can run if my internet goes down? If not, it would be very cool to offer this as a new feature.
I have used last.fm since 2005 and bought my first Sonos devices in 2012, and I have suffered from the double scrobble problem when using Spotify that has been discussed in question threads for many years. If I remove scrobbling from Sonos but play Spotify through Sonos, no scrobbles are registered. If I have last.fm as a service I get two scrobbles for each track I listen to.I have a fix for this problem. Of sorts. I bought a Sonos Roam, a brilliant little speaker, that has the ability to connect to both my Sonos system via wifi and my mobile device via Bluetooth. So, I connect to the Roam with Bluetooth, control Spotify with my phone, never use the Spotify service in Sonos, and then connect the Roam to my Sonos system and at last, no more double scrobbles.of course a dedicated in-Sonos coded solution software update would be much better, but this works, so I’m happy. Now I just need to get the Beam I received today to talk to my Sony Bravia TV.
I updated app yesterday and i have some problems : my “Beam2+2xOneSL” disappear except my 2 SONOS Roam. I needed to reset my “Beam2+2xOneSL”. Now I have a new problem 😂 :I see my Beam+2xOneSL (= Home Theater) in the App but not my 2 SONOS Roam… I keep my 2 SONOS Roam ON and kill the app. I restart the app : I see my 2 SONOS Roam but not my Beam+2xOneSL anymore 🤣 I turn OFF my 2 SONOS Roam and… My Beam+2xOneSL is back and my 2 SONOS Roam disappear If I turn ON my 2 SONOS Roam, they don't appear in the appLove this app!Edit 1:When my “Beam2+2xOneSL” is in the app, if I try to add new devices, the app cannot find my 2 SONOS Roams 🙄…And When my 2 SONOS Roams are in the app, if I try to add new devices, the app cannot find my “Beam2+2xOneSL” 😡Edit 2:All my SONOS devices are on the same network (and same simple wifi network). anyone have ideas on how i can stream music thru speakers in my lobby 24/7, without a phone or tablet?Thank you, Mark
I have this music track that I can’t seem to remove, delete, or however you want to phrase it. It’s the Tinlicker track in the pic. My music sources for Sonos are SoundCloud and Mixcloud. This particular track is not on my list of music of either one. I’ve deleted the SoundCloud and Mixcloud app from Sonos and it still appears as you see. Any ideas on removing it. On any other song in my lists, deleting it from the source doesn’t allow it to show up on. Never heard of CreateRadio either. my Sonos app.
I’ve finally found an excellent phone app that will give me multi band equalization for my Sonos speakers. The Neutron Music Player app allows me to play audio from Phone/NAS etc to Sonos over my home wifi network including any equalization settings. Its a bit complicated ‘tiil you get used to it and I did have to change one setting to allow quicker discovery of the Sonos speakers: Settings/Network/Source State Check Time=1Also really good for headphones with AutoEQ built in and separate EQ for left and right ear if reqd.
Don’t want to violate any forum rules or community norms. Is it ok to post a message looking for beta testers for a new app? Moderator edit after discussion with @SITNOS: We're a small company developing an app to let AppleTV users control their SONOS system from the couch (and without having to dig out a phone!).If you're interested, please send me a Private Message and I’ll let you know the email address to apply to.Ideally you should have some experience using beta applications and Apple's TestFlight app, but we can help with that if you've never acted as a beta tester before. Thanks in advance for any and all volunteers and happy to answer any questions that may arise.
Is there any official documentation/web links that describes the formats the Sonos uses for Apple Music streaming direct from Sonos Apple Music Service vs AirPlay?I previously ripped my CD collection to Apple Lossless (FLAC), this was uploaded a few years ago to Apple Match, and I am now looking to convert this subscription to Apple Music (on a trial) so I can stream my Library directly ffrom Apple Music. When I stream my Library via Apple Music, I see around 1Mb/s bandwidth on my router to the wired Sonos device from the Internet, but cant figure out what format it is streaming. If I AirPlay from iOS device will it be same format?
What did work perfect in W10 is not the case in W11. I can’t connect to SONOS. This is a HP Notebook and the settings done by my company. Meaning, I have restricted access as administrator. So I can’t change the public to Private network. Any other suggestions able to connect please?
Hi,Does anyone know exactly what audio quality is played when streaming from Apple Music? I know it isn’t lossless (24-bit) but is it 16-bit? Also, any difference streaming via S2 app vs AirPlay? S2 app seems better to me but that might not be real. Thanks!
Hi,I’m aware Apple Music streams via S2 app at 256kps AAC at 16-bit, 44.1kHz (and slightly lower quality via AirPlay). Does anyone know these specs for Amazon music via S2 app when it says ‘HD’ (not ‘UHD’)? Thanks! 🙏
Hi, I have an older Sonos Connect that I have used for years to integrate my home audio AV receiver into the Sonos ecosystem so I can enjoy audio through my primary home theatre system. I have the Sonos Connect plugged into CD-R input on my Yamaha receiver. It all works well when I am using a streaming service like Pandora or Amazon Music. What I can’t figure out is how to integrate my CD player from the home theater system into the Sonos ecosystem. If I were to plug the Connect into the back of the CD player (which I actually cannot since this is occupied via line out to the receiver) I would lose the receiver’s usage as the primary sound source for this area. I know I am missing something here. Am I running a line out from the Connect to something? Thanks in advice for any suggestions. Regards, Michael
