Hi AllCan anyone help with this though its not strictly related to Sonos issues?I have an old Buffalo Linkstation Duo that registered a disc failure so I replaced the disc and the other one failed. So I replaced that one and within a few days it registered a failure on the first brand new one!Im assuming that is a power issue or a fault with the chassis rather than the discs as they are brand new.So my question is if I kept the discs (assuming they are fine which they should be as they are brand new) and just switched them into a replacement chassis - an identical one ie a Buffallo Linkstation Duo - is it as simple as that?Would my PC and everything simply pick up the NAS drive as usual? Or is it more complex than that?Any help much appreciated.
Hi everyoneI would like to delete some radio stations, but I can't find any answers on this topic in the community. Thanks
I have seen a lot questions and comments related to the delay that comes with connecting a DJ controller to your sonos system through a sonos port. The delay may is noticeable and is def not ideal at all for professionals in this space. However, if you just want to have fun at home and throw small house parties, it works absolutely great in my opinion. The output from the speakers might have minor delay but you can always use your headphones to mix or have a small monitor speaker directly connected to your decks to help with mixing. Plus, the aesthetics of the apartment also look great without large bulky wired speakers awkwardly positioned around the decks. I have noticed that when more people are in the apartment and connected to the wifi, it can cause sound to drop off and here and there but I just set up a wifi mesh network to tighten up the wifi which I am hoping helps resolve this issue. Will provide an update to anyone interested. My setup: A pioneer XDJ RX2 is connected to a so
How does one turn off this stupid prompt for good?
I don’t want Sonos radio taking up screen space as I don’t use it and have access to plenty of music that I do want. So how do I remove it from view?
I have lossless audio for Spotify whether I use the app on my phone, PC app or Alexa app on all Akexa devices and PC speakers. But when i switch auduo to my Sonos 100, which I got the other day, the lossless option on where the song is playing goes away. How do I get it to translate to Sonos? Lossless was kind of the point of getting it
To my Christmas horror, anything by John Rutter and the Cambridge Singers is now blocked. Is this because Tidal cannot pay the Collegium record label? Here am I back to using a CD player when these carols should be streaming. Has anyone had the same experience? Merry Christmas!
I have some MP3’s in the File Folder on my iPhone. Is there any way to stream them to my ERA 300’s?
SO has there been another update which has turned everything to **** again, or is this my own personal hell?My D:\ is inaccessible no matter how I try to trick it.
Touch ID and the Sonos app: Pad users can add Touch ID to limit access to the Sonos app - the question is how to remove this if you find you don’t want/need this feature. I asked the Sonos help desk who suggested that this feature could be toggled in App Preferences (not in my version - 80.35.8 - it can’t) or in iOS settings for the Sonos app (no, not there either) or the Touch ID section of settings (no, not there) and sadly could not help beyond that. By chance I discovered that a long press on the Sonos app icon on the Home Screen solves the problem as this allows you to enable/disable Touch ID in Options. Perhaps everyone already knew this - if so, sorry for being late to the party!
Is it possible to collaborate with UBT on the TroveMobile music app? There is lots of users with the Trovemobile app in the UBT community and if Sonos can direct link to this I'm sure there would be a lot of Trove users who would purchase Sonos equipment. Many thanksVaughn
Hi, our sonos system consists of 3 play 3 and 2 play 1 units as well as a system of sonos AMP and a Cerwin Vega floor speaker for it. We have so far run it over the Sonos s1 app, but would like to have it for the Sonos 2 app, as we are considering adding a sonos five and a sub. Is it possible that the speakers can all play over the sonos 2 app so that you don't have to have 2 apps? and how do you connect your existing system to Sonos 2 if that is possible?
Hello guys.We have been quite happily living in the S1 world, not seeing a reason to move to S2. However our venerable Home Theatre System has decided to die. So we think that we might replace it with a Beam (our heads won’t less us buy an ARC as we don’t actually watch that much TV). We might need to hit eBay or similar to replace a Gen 1 Connect but that is a minor concern 3 questionsWe have lost track of progress on the S2 App. What features, if any, available in S1 have still not been implemented in S2? We have pairs of Play3, Play1 and One SL any suggestions as to which we should use as surround speakers? Which? Magazine in the UK doesn’t rate the Beam - can they be safely ignored? Thanks for any thoughts
Has anyone else had persistent problems with Gen 1 speakers and the playback from Spotify?I've had issues with Spotify pausing at the start then again mid songs/podcasts/audiobooks as if buffering and stopping at the end of some tracks. I reached out to support awhile back who checked my setup (Play 5.1) from their end and said it was wifi interference as Spotify 'uses a lot of data'. I had it set to play back at the lowest quality and it would still do it. The speaker was 3m line of sight from the router. Using a bridge was slightly better. Was suggested I use an ethernet cable. Spotify played fine on my phone and PC even if 25+ meters away in the garden (on wifi). Makes you wonder how much data Spotify uses when 4k movies stream flawlessly...I found a solution. Ditch the genocide funding Spotify and use Tidal. Tidal pay the artist about 4x as much as Spotify. The UI is pretty much the same. Just as many artists a Spotify. You can copy your library and playlists (of which only 2 songs
Under General Settings - About Your SystemPlease could the BSSID be displayed for each speaker. This information is already available under the Device’s Network Settings but having on the About Your System display would make it easier to check for any anomalies when trying to understand possible network issues for Speakers in a Room.
Why is there no Android widget support? When will this be rectified? I assumed I'd done something wrong or that there was some obscure issue with the Fold 7. I'm astounded after coming here and reading multiple year old threads that widget support had disappeared, this is frankly unforgivable for a media streaming product.
Dear Sonos developers As many of your Sonos users are now elderly, but your app on IOS is far too complicated for those users. I am having to always fix my elderly parents speakers and if your suggestion is use voice control you don’t understand the older generation. Either create a widget or shortcut just to play their chosen radio station or make an option in your app for a simple screen hiding all those unnecessary functions away, like Uber app does. Think out of the box for the needs of the older generations, which is a growing user base and please make your app available for all, not just youngsters!!!
Hi there, anything new on the manual sorting topic of SONOS favorites within the SONOS app? It‘s almost one year ago, since the topic was taken into the team to discuss this feature request. It’s a feature users requested now for years. kind regards, michael
I’ve got about 10 rooms of Sonos. Have held off updating to S2 for a couple of years due to all the negative feedback on S2 and there being no compelling reason to upgrade.Spotify Lossless finally provides something that makes me want to do the upgrade. But I can’t seem to find anything that gives me the detail as to the current functionality differences between the 2 apps. I see lots of historic stuff about not being able to search local libraries, edit the queue etc, as well as problems like lagging volume changes and speakers dropping out.Is there a good comparative list of functionality differences that anyone could point me too, and/or an up to date thread on usability? Thanks
I just want to mention that most of the functionality I was used to is more or less back on track after 18 months. But one of the most important for me is still missing and that is the possibility to return to the cue of music playing after you turn on the TV and then of again (or any suorce or radio stream for that matter). Sometimes I even want to watch the TV but listen to music. I know that the cue is there because it’s possible to restart from the desktop application, but nowhere to be found in the app or web application. This is by far the most frustrating aspect of the app and the constant need for reload a playlist if using your iPhone or iPad. Sonos - Please re add this option 🙏 Or am I missing something here?
Porqué SONOS no hace para poder ordenar las listas ¿de reproducción alfabéticamente? Es un engorro tener que estar buscando las listas y si tienes muchas como me pasa a mí es un incordio.
We’re having problems with many podcasts from Amazon music that used to work (on S1 systems). When I try to play This American Life, for example, on an S1 Sonos using the Amazon app, it doesn’t work. When I look at the Sonos S1 app, I see a pop up dialog sayingUnable to play ‘This American Life’ - the connection to pfx.vpixl.com:443 was lost. Other podcasts have triggered similar dialogs with “prfx.byspotify.com”, “chrt.fm”, and “www.podtrac.com”.I’m told these are ad trackers and some form of redirect is required. Perhaps S1 Sonos cannot handle these correctly?
Whem will Trueplay be supported on the IPad Air, and why is it currently not supported?
Has anyone figured out how to get Pandora Modes (e.g. Deep Cuts, Discovery, Energy, etc.) working in the new Sonos iOS app? I’ve found several year-old locked conversations on this topic. None have any real solutions. Some blame Pandora for the problem - which I’m not buying because I also use the Sonos app for Mac and Pandora Modes work just fine. (See below.) So Pandora’s APIs work. While we are at it - I’ve closed the “Alexa AWS October 20 Outage” notification banner 15 times while writing the few sentences above. Way to go Sonos: keep reminding us of how your software is constantly broken - and how you focus on your needs instead of your customers…. but I digress.
Songs with accents or special characters in the titles missing on Sonos Controller App when imported from a playlist on macOS.For Windows users I found this topic that will give you more information about this problem. For those who are on the macOS side here’s the way I used to fix it. I’m running macOS12 « Monterey » but it should work with many mores. My Sonos Controller is 17.2 and the Sonos OS is S2. First create *m3u file and locate the songs in the playlist with a text editor. I use TextEdit but you can choose whatever floats your boat. Depending on the app you used to create the playlist (I use Mp3tag) you’ll find the path of the songs as: /Users/polo/Music/Jean Jacques Goldman/En Public/CD1/Pas l'indifférence.mp3Where polo is my username. Now we have to modify the path of each song in the playlist to be accessed by the Sonos Controller app as follows: In macOS the url location doesn’t (at least for me) work like in Windows. I’ve found that you have to change it with the name s
