What is the latest version of Sonos 1 Controller for Mac, and what are the minimum system requirements?
My High Sierra Mac Pro crashes every time when it attempts to update from 11.5, could that be because the latest version does not work on High Sierra?Astounding that Sonos does not seem to provide basic info like this on their site.
Why is Sonos lacking the Chromecast functionality, which basically every 100€ WiFi speaker has. It makes it impossible to use YouTube music ( you have to open the Sonos controller and control it from there instead of just pressing the cast button) and it makes using the Google Assistant unnecessarily cumbersome. You have to specify the speaker after a voice command instead of being able to simply set Sonos as a default speaker. That not enough, it also makes it impossible to cast all audio to Sonos. Sonos always talks about being open and support all platforms, yet after waiting a year longer than Airplay 2 users (which got supported as soon as the service got released), we get a shitty, half-assed service lacking basic functionality. Sonos basically incentivizes people to switch to Google Home Max et al, to use get the full capability from the services.
Playing Downloaded vs Non Downloaded Amazon Music
I know you add/authorize Amazon Music as service, but can Sonos differentiate, and or prioritize playing downloaded songs from you Amazon Music library? (My theoretical scenario is if your internet connection speed is slow, can you play your downloaded Ultra HD Amazon Music without buffering or loading?)
Does "Search" on the Sonos app look through all the subscribed services?
Does "Search" on the Sonos app look through all items in the subscribed services? I mean those which are listed under "Browse" in the app.Here is an example of the omissions I find. I am in the UK and my subscribed services in the Sonos app include TuneIn, MyPlayer Radio, Radioplayer, and Sonos Radio. The radio station "Absolute 80s" is a UK station carried by TuneIn, MyPlayer Radio and Radioplayer, as I can verify from their web sites. However when I search on the Sonos app for "Absolute 80s" it lists only Radioplayer.What I am trying to establish is how comprehensive the "Search" facility is and whether I always need to painstakingly look through the services under "Browse" to see all the options for streaming. PS: I am using Sonos S2 app on Android.
How can I access two recent Sonos Radio stations on the app? Forest & Ocean
I got an email saying Sonos added two new stations. When I try to find them I get nothing. When the Airplay password is active, Sonos Airplay is completely broken.
Every Sonos speaker in the house blocks Airplay streams and requests an AirPlay Password whenever Airplay Require Password is enabled on the Apple TV or in the Apple Home app.Once the password is enabled, Airplay works well with Apple devices but not with Sonos devices. No Sonos speaker is affected when the AirPlay password is disabled on Apple TV or the Home app. They continue to request the Airplay password.Resetting each Sonos speaker individually is the only thing that appears to solve the problem.Has anyone encountered this issue?(I've attempted to call Sonos, but the line keeps cutting out; case number 04688582; diagnostics 726588139)
What keyboard shortcuts will work with the Android app?
I tried pairing my PC keyboard to my Kindle Fire HD8 which I primarily use as a sonos controller at my desk.I was able to type in the search bar and use the volume controls on the keyboard. I was wondering if there are shortcuts that will allow me to search, and select from search results? This would be amazing if possible.
Some station icons in My Sonos are blank
Some icons for the radio stations in "My Sonos" are blank.When I play a station with a blabk icon, the correct icon appears in the darkened bar at the bottom of the screen. So I presume the icon is available.Refreshing the app’s cache doesn’t help. How can I get the missing icons?(Background info: Android app, version 14.20.1, Dec 2022)

we’ve moved from Spotify to Apple Music. It’s a shame the Sonos implementation of Apple Music is lacking this feature over Spotify. we listen to the discovery and new for you playlists and would love to tap to add to a playlist. It was talked about 6 years ago….Any updates?
Feature Request: Controller Progress Bar
I’ve been running my system for 10+ years now, and one little feature always bugged me in the Desktop controller. I am predominantly using the Desktop controller to run my Sonos system, via a mini PC connected to my TV.The issue:The progress bar for any music I play is occupying only a minimal part of the screen in the top middle. There are miles of space to the left and right of it, space that is completely unused. I have used music players on my PC that will use the full width of the window for the progress bar, and adjust the size of the progress bar relative to the window size (i.e. Mediamonkey, MusicBee and others), allowing for much more precise control when trying to skip through audio files. Now on my 65” TV, the bar is just ridiculously tiny and skipping to a specific part of an audio file, especially in an audio book for example, is very tedious - and, imho, unnecessarily so.I have attached a screenshot, underlining in yellow the current progress bar. Here we go again, new phone and Sonos volume control does not work from lock screen, either it be the volume buttons or the widget. Sonos has done it again! have been through all in app settings aswel as security settings, I have a pixel 7. I have to physically unlock phone and then able to change volume .... Good security hey..
Is there any way to sort by year published?
I will often search for an artist, and then browse their albums. I want to listen to their most recent album, but based the list of albums doesn’t show years published. Furthermore, as far as I can tell, there’s no way to sort by date published. Am I missing something?
Amazon Prime Music stop working, won’t re-authorize properly
My Amazon Prime Music just stopped working. Had been working for several years. The account is not authorized. I’ve tried to reauthorize, and seems to complete but it is not ‘authorized’ when finished. Have tried deleting Amazon Music from ‘Music and Services’ and then re-adding it and seems to complete fine. But then it is not authorized. Any suggestions?
Sonos (S1) goes offline
My Sonos S1 goes offline a lot. Even when wifi still working fine. But the worst thing about it is that if I’m listening to an audio file on Audible, for instance, when Sonos goes back online the book goes all the way back to the very BEGINNING of the book. It’s infuriating. Especially as there is no way to know where you were which makes you manually search for it. Anyone else experienced this before? Thank you so much in advance! kind regards,
Only selected speakers of my sonos setup can play spotify
Hi,I am having a setup of multiple sonos speakers (livingroom: arc with sub and two ones, bathroom: one, bedroom: two symfonisk, outdoor: move, ...) Everything was fully functional regarding spotify until one month ago.Now super weird behavior - livingroom, mancave etc works super well with spotify both via spotify app on my phone as well as via sonos app Selected rooms / speakers do not connect at all to spotify If I group speakers and start with the ones working e.g. livingroom and connect them to spotify and then linking in the non working speakers step by step - they all playNo change in router software, router rebooted, hard resetted speakers, setup system completely new, wired and wireless, carried the speakers around in my flat in case of wifi coverage - it seems that some speakers are just completely broken regarding spotify, others functioning.Btw - broken speakers can play anything else via the network (from internal server, from tune-in etc.)Any ideas? Thanks
Sonos music library and Windows 11
Since I switched to Windows 11 I can't add folders to my music Library settins. I'm trying to add a music folder that's on my internal hardrive and I keep getting the message "Sonos was unable to add the music folder, Reason: The computer "DELLPC" refused to let Sonos connect to it.
