In the new 2024 Sonos App :Where are the alarms settings? Where is the Last.fm service?Where is the Android widget?This is a real nightmare....

Latency

As SONOS is now mainly cloud based, I get the feeling that some issues could be caused by a slightly higher latency and affecting service due to IP communications having a short time out for a response packet. This happened when the service was taken into the cloud from locally but the company forget to allow for increased latency.Do you think peoples experiences are varying due to their internet connection and possibly wifi connection?

Sonos cutting out in middle of songs from local library

I have a Sonos Port, with firmware updated to latest.It is being used to play songs stored on a Synology NAS.I use the Android version of the Sonos app; it is updated to latest.Recently -- maybe with the last firmware update -- songs played from the local library have about a 50% probability of cutting off partway through playback, after which the music resumes at the next song in the playlist.Wifi signal is consistently showing “Fair -- 35 dB”Any thoughts?  Anybody else seeing this?  Is this a firmware problem, or could it be my own issue somehow?

Adding New Sonos Product to Existing System

I have the Sonos Arc Ultra, Sub 2nd Gen, x2 Era 100 speakers, and Sonos Ace Headphones. App is on Google Pixel 9 XL App Version: 80.11.35-release+20241030.5ee5370When I go to the settings, open the settings, click the “add speaker or component”  i get the prompt to update the app. I click to install and i am taken to a google chrome page to download a BETA version. Could not add products using the newest Android app.  Can’t add my Sonos Ace headphones to the app to use with my phone. Only way to use the headphones is via a USB C cable. I also have an iPad Pro with m1.App Version: 80.11.51When I go to the settings, open the settings, click the “add speaker or component”  i get the prompt to update the app. I click to install and i am taken to a google chrome page to download a BETA version via Test Flight. I was able to download and set system up using my iPad and test flight Beta Sonos app.

Sonos S1 and TrueNAS 13

After researching, tracing and trying multiple config changes finally got my Sonos S1 working with TrueNAS-13.0-U6.2. Here my configuration, hope it will helps others: Services / SMB:Enable SMB1 support: checkedNTLMv1 Auth: checkedGuest account: nobodyAuxiliary parameters: unix extensions = No Sharing / SMB:Name: MusicPath: </your/path/to/music>Purpose: No presetsEnabled: checkedEnable ACL: checkedExport Read Only: checkedBrowsable to Network Clients: checkedAllow Guest Access: checkedAll other checkboxes: uncheckedAuxiliary Parameters: public=Yes Sharing / SMB / Share ACL:Share Name: MusicSID: S-1-1-0Domain:Name: EveryonePermission: FULLType: ALLOWED  Then on you Sonos S1 phone app, go to Settings and "Music Library Setup" and add://<IP_OF_YOUR_NAS>/Music(leave user/passowrd blank)

App Update 80.11.51 Not Documented

Available app update as of November 4 but the release notes in the app store are exactly the same as 80.11.39 and the Sonos release note site hasn't updated yet. No noticed changes in user interface on iOS 18.1. No associated hardware update. Nothing for the Ace.What's the point?

When will sonos fix the app? It is the worst app ever!!!

 How much longer must we suffer?! This app is garbage!The old app actually let you control volume with the one buttons! Amazing! The old app let you see what was playing on the screen! Amazing!The new app barely functions! Unacceptable! The volume is glitchy, the interface has too many layers, the app is not intuitive, and on and on!It’s been months and nothing has been resolved! Terrible company!

Sonos audio selection very limited

Sonos will lose market share if they don't make their selections for a  diverse audience. After spending several hundred dollars for Sonos speakers I am finding their audio selection very limited.  These are my speakers, I should be able to listen to more than the Sonos limited selection. For example adding a podcast like Wondery. I am researching other systems.

only plays 1 song, queue is empty

Hi- for about a week now, when I play a playlist it will play the same song on repeat, move randomly to another, play that repeatedly and over and over again. Any suggestions? The queue only shows the one song that it’s currently repeating

UX Update Feature Request

I want to request a move of one system setting “Nearby System” to the first page after starting Sonos and not connecting.  I travel between several locations a few times a week. Each time, I open Sonos and get a “No Products Found” message with a CTA to go to system settings. I click on it and then when system setting loads, I have to scroll down to see “Nearby System” to (re)join the system again. My change would eliminate the extra clicks and poor UX.

Sonos Arc account question

HiI just reset my Sonos Arc, I have logged into my Sonos account on the website and it still shows under “system”Will this disappear eventually? I plan to gift the the arc so don't want it showing under my Sonos account, is there anything else I need to do or should it vanish eventually?Sorry wasn't sure where to post this.Thank you

Its a very complicated product!There is no Bluetooth.I really dont understand how to upload music to sonos?I down watch t.v.So now my only thing that I need to listen is to sonos radio?Its so disappointing! I weist a lot of money to pay for this 😞. What is my options exept your radio? *My product is sonos beam 2I wanna listen to music from my country.

Step by step instructions for adding My Music when using a Macbook Pro

I feel I’ve tried everything to add my own music to Sonos after it disappeared some time ago. I’m using a Macbook Pro running Monterey 12.7.5 and Sonos (on the Mac at 16.4.2).It fails when asking for my id and password - I changed my id to ensure it was correct using the Terminal app. Am I correct that the password should be the one I use to log on to the Mac with?I’ve checked sharing options and they look OK but I can screenshot anything.Really, really frustrating and I know this isn’t the first time this question has been asked :-(

When will "Line-In" return to the new app?

Simple question as a dealer/installer/user:  When will the ability to select and control “Line-In” return?  On the “gold” app, it was part of the “Browse” screen at the bottom of the list of services.  IT IS NOW GONE.  One may presume it should have been in the “Your System” area, but who knows?  Whereas I have reviewed many complaints and issues with the deprecation of features in the new app, the inability to control Line-In is not only a devastating loss, but a liability as many users have purchased the products specifically for their ability to support a Line-In.  I am referring to the “Keith N” response of two days ago and the bullet list of the five features/issues that there is a supposed date for them to return.  See image below and there is NO LINE-IN:

I know it's off Topic but an important FYI if you use Norton products they have done 'a Sonos'

Just a word of warning before you face a new world of angst/hurt, the new version of Norton (version 24) appears to suffer the same failings as the sonos app supposed  ‘upgrade’. They are using the customers for QA !!! Head on over to the Norton forum for further info and turn off auto update till you see if the issues affect you. *This has been a public service announcement by someone who is fed up of tech firms thinking ‘if it aint broke, then lets break it!’

Is there really advantage to updating to the S2 software from S1

I have been reluctant, for over a year, to update from the S1 software to S2 software on my devices. The  speakers on a whole house system that are integrated together. I want all my devices on the same system. Sonos updated without my permission a year ago and I lost a speaker because once it was updated to S2 it could not be changed or downgraded back to s1, this was a One SL speaker. It was frustrating  I worked with Sonos for months for a fix or a resolution, but never got one. I still have my first Sonos item I purchased  a Zone Player  S5, the original, It still works and sounds great. If I update to S2 this will not work with my whole house integrated system. I just want to know if anyone can give me any answers of what the advantage would be to upgrade to S2 from S1 I am currently have been using for years. I am not having any problems with the S1 software. Please help.

non-commercial radio station, yet 'm hearing ads - WHY?!

Amp user here.I recently found a cool, local Portland station called xray.fm. They play ZERO ads on xray.fm which is one of the parts I love (I donated to them).I thought I’d check if there was a way to listen in Sonos and was thrilled to see xray.fm show up when I searched. I added it, clicked play and was immediately assaulted by ads! I know they aren’t coming from the actual station, so who is inserting the ads?Like probably all of you, I purchased Sonos hardware at great cost and I can’t imagine it would be Sonos inserting them.Can someone help me understand where the ads are coming from and if there is a way to stop them from being inserted?

Why can't I remove Sonos Radio

I know many threads exist with this exact feature request and Sonos staff acknowledged it over a year ago.So, SONOSWhy can’t we remove SONOS Radio? We never listen to it and please don’t force things on us

Grouping rooms for simultaneous streaming

Using the App, I can see all rooms and stream to each of them individually. When I try to "join" them via the App they immediately ungroup back to single rooms and only the first room plays music. I used to be able to achieve all this via wifi but a new provider and router has made connecting by wifi impossible. I have joined all via ethernet and all speakers have been assigned IP addresses via DHCPEach room has a network switch between the router and the speakers

Hi all 👋So my playlists are now in Favourites My question is, how do we create a new one ie best of an artist or fav tracks, or add to exsiting?Is this  feature coming back?Also the main album artwork is not showing but it is agains track listing Thanks

WHY not?

Why the new system is not the same in Apple IOS like in Windows? In windows I can make new playlists and add a song or a directory from home network BUT NOT in IOS? Or (maybe) I'm idiot? 😄

Unable to connect to services

Just went to use my system and got the error message "unable to connect to services". Restarted app and router, same problem. Found the app could be updated (Android) so did that and still same problem, no services showing in the app. Sonos service status page shows everything is OK.  Any ideas?

New Sonos App - Update?

Dear Sonos World,Following the disastrous app release, can someone please advise if there is a timeline as to when we can expect everything to be working again.It has been months of shouting at Alexa, and waiting for the app to ‘warm up’ and we have had to get some bluetooth speakers in the meantime in order to be able to listen to anything with any confidence, and when we want to. I heard a rumour Sonos would allow us to use the old app until everything was fixed, will this happen?Appreciate an update.Tx
