Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Not only is it less intuitive and a HORRIBLE white (see other threads but really, what were they thinking?), but the advanced settings appear to have been removed from the new app. This means I can no longer connect my Android tablet to Sonosnet - unless someone can point me in the right direction?
A poll to see who prefers the older or the newer software version. Opinion seems very strong. EDIT: I can't edit but would like POLL: In front of the thread title.
why would Sonos us my 4g data?
I was told that Sonos were going to have Chromecast Builtin like many other TV and Audio manufacturers have already done. So I kitted my home out with Google Home and most of the devices that are compatible it. I have had Sonos devices in my home since they first came to the UK. I've been eagerly waiting for Sonos to announce that Chromecast has now been installed in their speakers and other devices so that I can use Google Home with Sonos. When can I hope to see Chromecast Builtin rolled out from Sonos?
I just upgraded and I can’t find where to click when a song is playing and you want to save it in your favorites section...and by the way, where did the favorites section for songs go (I only see playlists and stations in the My Sonos section)?
I want to remove all speakers from an existing room and re-setup my system.
Hi It would be a great idea to create some new, more modern, skins for the sonos controller for Windows. Perhaps make it user-skinnable. There's alot of great 'artists' out there who can create some great skins. The standard skin is just not that great.. buttons too small, the dark colour is just depressing and makes it feel so heavy.. The interface is actually one of the things that is interfering with my sonos experience. It may sound a bit smallish but the interface is the gateway into the sonos experience and if that is a turnoff then the whole experience will suffer.
According to the article I read.... "The Alexa feature will be a free software upgrade for existing Sonos hardware. A private beta later this year will be expanded to public release early in 2017." My question... HOW DO I GET ON THE BETA? I have four Play 1 and a Play 3 setup thru my house (living room and two betdrooms). I'd love to be able to control the music for my Sonos system thru my Alexa (and DOT) system. Anyone know how to get on these betas? TIA
Shockingly bad design and not good for my NAS drive that the app always starts on the My Sonos page and so tries to load the artwork for my library playlists. I would like to revert back to the previous version please but don't know how.
Given the recent news from Sonos covering airplay support, will this include the Sonos amp?
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it appears that Amazon is incorporating the Alexa (Echo) voice control inside of the Amazon app on iOS. https://9to5mac.com/2017/03/16/amazon-iphone-ipad-alexa-amazon-app/ This should make things interesting when Sonos' integration is completed. Yet one more way to access your music, without needing to be in the same room as your Echo device.
In July this year I bought 11 speaker Sonos. I spent more than $ 4,500 to buy. The first two months I was glad that I bought Sonos. Butt then there was a bitter reckoning. Sonos blocked the ability to add new music services to the system, the same way Sonos blocked the ability to add new speakers to the system. There was it because at me on phone Ios 8.4 and on the computer Mac Os 10.9.5 That is, yesterday everything worked but today Sonos decided to turn everything off. I wrote a letter to the support team, and received a response: "....Technology is always advancing and growing and softwares become outdated....you do need to update the OS on both the iPhone and MacBook..." So here, someone in the company of Sonos decided to make me keep up with the technological progress. I want this, or I do not want, in Sonos nobody cares about my desires. Just Sonos will force you buy new phone, computer or another device. And if you do not want to "keep pace with technological progress", thr
Hi there, I'm not really one to complain because my sonos equipment is the best I've ever brought. But I must say. I've just done the new update and I think it's a load of rubbish! I don't want my playlist clearing when I want to play another, I'd like to clear it myself thank you please! What do others think? Please take this on board, thank you .
Rather than "include (randomly) linked rooms" which can be very arbitrary depending on how rooms were linked prior to an alarm, provide a checkbox for which zones should be included in the alarm, so that a single alarm always rings simultaneously in those zones. (system of checkboxes for including zones would be similar how days of the week are currently chosen)
Interesting announcement. So if I read this correctly - in theory is this going to work ? 1. Assume I have a TV that supports Dolby ATMOS 2. I have the Apple 4K TV (which i saw somewhere ATMOS support is on the Roadmap ) 3. I get a Playbase/Playbar - The Sub and 2 Play 1's . Does this mean that thru AirPlay - I get the Dolby ATMOS Sound - even though its not supported in the Playbase ?? !!!!
I'm in the beta program, inside the Sonos app on Android tablet. Check for updates, update available, click on Update Now. This opens the Google Play Store, NOT the Sonos beta site, to the already-installed current Sonos app. WTF? Why is this not opening to the Sonos beta site, like it used to do? I want tk test Alexa integration, how is it possible to get the public beta?
Hi, I've heard that the multi room function on the Echo products only works when the music is being sourced from Amazon Music and that it won't work with Spotify. When the echo/sonos integration is live, does anyone know if this limitation will still be present? Thanks
I have a large Sonos network and want to Permanently Group the Master Bedroom (1 - Sonos 5) and Master Bathroom (2 - Sonos 1) so that they always play the same all of the time. I know I can Group them together. However, when I group the whole house (15 speakers) and later ungroup the whole house, it requires that I go through a bunch of extra steps just to recombine those two rooms. I just want to make sure they stay together all of the time - (Why is this so hard?)
I updated to release 5.0 build 26177021 this morning and the controller grouping function is no longer working. On both the App and desk top version it appears they are grouped but music will only play on a individual controller. Each controller will play individually but not grouped.
Recently updated my iPhone and now I can’t run a truetune, any ideas when this may become available?
First time posting, so any help is much appreciated. My Sonos system is set up in our small home in the mountains of Colorado and we unfortunately have no internet access. My Play 5 (Gen 1) is plugged into a WIFI router that I then access from my iPhone or iPad to control the system. Normally this works great. But this past weekend the Sonos control app on my phone told me that I had to update the software. I do get 3G cell service at the house but this did not help me. I’ve even tried a cellular hotspot but we're too remote and I can't get a strong enough signal. This is the second time this has happened and rendered my system totally inoperable. My solution last time was to haul the whole system (including router) to somewhere that I can plug into the internet and then update everything. This is obviously a pain. Is there a way to update my speaker software without having access to a wired internet connection for my router? If not, can I somehow force the system to skip
Hello for sometime now my iOS apps on both iPad and iPhone don't work. All speakers work and play off my MacBooks .... I have reset the controller , checked the wifi connection deleted and reinstalled and nothing is working .
My devices updated yesterday, but I can't seem to see what was updated - are there release notes anywhere?
I have a single router network (BT Homehub 6) and a Sonos set up (4 x Ones and Play Bar). System works great from iPad and IOS10 and IOS11 phones. But no matter what I try I cannot get my MacBook to connect to the system. When I open it up I'm asked whether its a new system or connect to existing, I choose the latter. The message is no existing system can be found, so I go through the two button press on one of the devices but it does not connect. Any ideas?
Hi everyone I was browsing my Feedly earlier today when I came across an article titled "The Sonos App (Remastered)". This got me excited until I clicked on the link of the full article only to end up with a "Page not found" :/ I've attached a screenshot of the header of the article for you to see. It states: "Life has enough compromise, and we want to keep it out of the listening experience. So when we began redesigning the Sonos app, we thought about how we could combine all the choice and variety you get from streaming with the ease and simplicity of combing through your personal record collection." And here is the link to the full post on the Sonos Blog web site: http://blog.sonos.com/en/sonos-app-remastered/ Could this mean that Sonos is finally about to release a long-overdue redesign of its Sonos Controller? :) Does anyone know anything about this? Cheers!
