Hi, I have various Sonos speakers including Play 1's, Play 3's, Sub and Play Bar (I do not have any Play 5's, Connect or Connect Amp). Will I be able to connect an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot to my existing set up when this functionality goes live, or do I need to purchase new speakers when/if Sonos release speakers with microphones built in? Thank you.
I am running V 6.2.2 Sonos Controller on iOS. My speakers are all on V6.3. The advanced room setting (for EQ, etc) are no longer present in the Sonos app. As I have read elsewhere on these forums, the controller and system must be the same version. I have tried both "resetting the controller" and uninstalling and reinstalling the app (then reconnecting to the existing system). When I try "online updates" it says "no update required; your Sonos system is up to date." I also occasionally get a pop-up in the iOS app saying I need to update the system software; however, when I follow the subsequent dialog, I get the same "no update required" message. I am experiencing these problems on both an iPhone and iPad. Any ideas? Thanks!
Using Windows 8. Controller on my computer. Under "Manage" drop-down, "Music Library Settings" is grayed out. I can't add any songs because I don't have access to the menu!!!!
A welcome functionality improvement was the double tap next track on the pause button. So a logical next step would be say a triple tap to go back a track... yes?
Hello I want to turn the volume up and down, when the phone screen is both locked and when doing othe stuff. It's annoying that I have to go to the spotify app to turn volume up and down (I don't use the sonos app, and I'm aware you can turn this setting ON in this app). But however, I can't do this in the spotify app since switching to sonos.. help
How can I lock my Sonos? It gets annoying when I host a party, only to have my Sonos repeatedly hijacked by other guests.
Have a friend who was at my house on our WiFi. He was playing music through Spotify app, on my Sonos. Once he went home / no longer on my WiFi - he was still able to open Spotify and play music on my Sonos! How does this happen and how can I stop it?
I live in a studio apartment where the sound travels easily throughout my unit. Appliances such as Washer/Dryer , Dishwasher , overhead oven range fan, and vacuum cleaner easily drown out any audio I was listening to on my Sonos speakers before the appliance turned on. What I'd like would be a microphone on Sonos speakers that could be used to detect changes in ambient volume and adjust the speaker volume to compensate. Example: I'm listening to a podcast and turn the washing machine on, nearby Sonos speakers detect the increase in ambient volume and increase their volume so that I can still hear the podcast. When the washing cycle is done, the speakers detect the decrease in ambient volume and lower their volume back to the previous level.
..was the message I got just now when I tried to turn on my Sonos this afternoon. It worked fine this morning. Now when I touch the Sonos icon I just get this message, with no option to update anything. I have a Samsung Note 2 tablet GT-P5110, and the Sonos controller is version 7.4. Does it mean my tablet software is outdated? If so it sounds as if I need a newer tablet... Or have I missed something simple? Thanks in advance S
I just wanted see how many people have mounted a tablet on a wall to control and display the content playing on their Sonos system. The issue I have is that I would l like the iPad app to not dim when it is plugged in so that I can glance across the room to see artist/song information. I tend to use the Spotify app now. I wonder if there needs to be a "kiosk mode" or "display mode" to cater to this use case if the current UI cant be changed. Thoughts?
After the latest Android update on my Galaxy S7 (Nougat), the ability to access volume directly from the notification area is no longer available. I've attached screenshots showing what the notification area looked like before and after the update. Note that in the old screenshot, the volume icon is in the notification area. From there it's a quick click to adjust the volume. After the update, the volume icon is no longer there. You have to click to load up the full app, which takes a couple seconds, and then access the volume. It may not seem like a big deal but when one song is much louder than the last one, the sooner you can adjust the volume, the better. I do have the "Allow Volume Control on Home Screen" option checked but that isn't directly relevant and doesn't help. Is there any way to get the volume icon back in the notification area? Thanks in advance!
I recently discovered that the Sonos app is that number one drain on the battery in my iPad. Yesterday the battery monitor under Settings on my iPad reported that 80% of my battery usage was due to the Sonos app--7 min active and 10 hours plus in background. I am now using the app to make changes and then killing it until I need to use it again, but this is a pain. Is there another solution?
Since upgrading my MAC Sonos controller software to 7.2 it just "hangs" on startup with "Application Not Responding". I have tried re-installing it but no joy. The sonos system itself is OK (I can drive it from my Android phone) but no luck from the MAC. All was working fine till I upgraded. MAC is OSX El Capitan (10.11.6). Any ideas ? Is there any way of doing a full un-install so I can do a clean re-instal.
Hi Just installed Sonos and can stream radio etc fine. However I can't seem to add folders to my music Library. I'm trying to add a music folder that's on my internal hardrive and I keep getting the message "Sonos was unable to add the music folder, Reason: The computer "BATEMAN-Laptop" cannot be found. Thanks, Matt
Hi My daughters Huawei Y6 pro running Android 5.1 has a problem simlar to one reported for Huawei y5: The sonos app seems to start up, showing introduction screen for a few seconds and then fades out and disappears. Reinstalling does not help. No error messages. What to do about it?
Why can't I reorder my favorites? In Sonos Music Source SiriusXM, in Favorites, I can't drag and reorder my channels, which are just listed numerically. In the Tidal App, my favorite artists are alphabetized, but in Sonos Music Source Tidal, in My Music/Artists, they are in some random order, which is beyond frustrating?
I need to know how to unpair my phone app from my neighbors device. I cant power it off or unplug it, its not in my house, i cant connect to it from my phone. I can mess with his play list, but i cant sre my own sonos with my phone.
Running version 7.4 & all of my room settings are gone, can't do trueplay or modify anything. I'm not in the beta program either
Hi, I have two sonos play 1 speakers. One in my living room and one in my bathroom. Both are paired. Is there a way I can control the volume for each speaker independently? I would like the volume in my livingroom high and then the volume soft for the speaker in my bathroom. When I try to decrease the volume on my bathroom speaker it also automatically lowers the volume on my living room speaker.
Jag vill byta namn på mina spelrum. Hittade inget i inställningar där jag tycker det borde göras?
Hello I have several sonos speakers (2 play1s set up as a pair, 2 Play5 gen 1 also set up as a pair and a connect amp). They are all directly connected to my network via ethernet cable (had a lot of problems with wi-fi dropping out). Since connecting ethernet cable directly, I had very few problems (for more then 1 year) but recently, I find that the play5 pair drops out of the group. Sometimes the controller even stops recognizing it, and the controller app prompts me to reconnect it. Do you think a 'factory reset' will help? I have seen the warnings that data could be lost, but I do not have any data loaded on the speaker, and only use the system to playback spotify from the controller app.
Hi all! I was considering switching from Napster to Google Play Music. For some reason, in the Sonos controller app, I cannot find any (user generated) playlists. See attached screenshots. It gives GPM results for albums, but nothing for playlists. On Napster, that used to work as far as I remember. On the GPM web interface, I can find playlists. Does anybody know if this is normal? Cheers.
Sonos was noticeably missing from Apple's announcement on Tuesday, Sept. 12th, regarding AirPlay 2 controlling speakers in multiple rooms. Is AirPlay 2 coming any time soon? If not, it sure seems like Sonos is asking to become a dinosaur by continuing to ignore Alexa and now AirPlay 2.
I love Sonos and can highly recommend the products. I really miss something in the app, and don’t know where to give my feedback, so I send it here, in the hope of that this will be given to the right persons. What do I miss in the app? - compatibility with Siri - a widget on iPhone to control the music easier – play, pause, change song. Sometimes the controller not compare on the lock screen, and then I really miss this widget, so I don’t have to open my phone and the app to control my system. - the option to lock the sound level on each speaker. It’s really annoying if you have a lot of speakers in different rooms, hear the same music in all rooms, and you want to turn up the sound up on 4 out of 6 speakers. Then you have to turn up the sound manually on each speaker. Instead of just lock the sound level on 2 of the speakers, and then have the possibility to drag only in the “head” sound level controller. This is a really big miss for me when I use my Sonos system.
This is going to be a tough one 🙂 Any way to show lyrics of what Sonos is playing (especially with radio as source)? I was actually thinking how to show this, maybe project i on a wall in my place or, if that's too complicated, through some device where Sonos controller is installed. Any ideas? Thanks
