Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I set up the skill for Alexa and am running My Speaker on my PC and it works perfectly...... for 1 room. I have Sonos speakers in three rooms (2 or Play 1's and 1 is an Amp). It looks like My Speaker only sees one of the rooms. All three rooms can be seen and controlled by the Sonos app on my phone and also the Phonos Universal on my Windows PC. Any sugestions?
SONOS could be more forthright if they would indicate the changes in the Updated Privacy Statement. If customers want to know the changes we have to print up both and search for differences. A cool company like SONOS - great product and great customer service - should not behave like soulless corporations and not be clear about changes. But I fear that lawyers who do not ever think about customers or their needs are probably given full control of this sort of important communication. SONOS - please don't allow yourself to morph into the worst of corporate behavior. Please have your coolness extend to notifications. Thank you for your time.
My apologies if this thread is already posted somewhere, I searched but did not find what I need. I use Sonos Connect and Sonos 5 speakers, Sonos 1's and I leverage the Dezzer music service which is all about uncompressed music. I found this setting in Advanced configuration on my sonos desktop app and was wondering if anyone could give me insights on this setting, what works best and if it would benfit a music service such as Deezer?
Configuration: iMac with line out to Play 5 speaker paired with another Play 5 and sometimes grouped with PlayBar and Sub. Autoplay is set to off. At any random time while music is playing the speakers will shut off. I have to open the controller and press stop then play again to turn them back on. This happens a few times a day and is rather frustrating.
I have been creating a playlist of all the albums released this year so far. I started a new queue to add this week's releases and accidentally saved that over my existing playlist, which had about 2000 songs in it. Is there any way to recover an old version of a playlist rather than me start the whole playlist all over again?
I have an LG TV with an LG magic remote. How do I sync the remote with the Play 5 so that I can control the volume from the remote and not just my phone? Thanks for your help.
Hi Yesterday I purchased playbar and 2 play1 systems, but I found a couple of surprises :( 1) switch-off button it's missing 2)Youtube isn't compatible 3) tryuplay APP miss for andorid sistems For me this features must be present for a system of this level and whit this price I hope that with the next SW updates SONOS introduce this features Regards
Can you integrate an Echo / Alexa to your Sonos system so that when you command Alexa to play music, it goes through your Sonos system??
My sonos will play Pandora and internet radio However it will not find my itunes library. I get an error message that says that my computer can't be found. My music is there and I can listen to it from my computer. I can see it when I browse for folders in Sonos, yet somehow it won't find it. I have been unable to play my music for a while now and have no idea what to do. Help. Thanks
Controller on iPhone has muted everything. Volume indicators are yellow with a slash through them. No idea how this happened, org how to undo it. Help!
Welcome, Sonos 7.4! From everybody but, well, me, I guess. With 7.4 running on my Mac OS 10.9, my glorious SONOS system is now officially gimped up. The entire "Manage" menu is grayed out. Forever, I'm told, by Sonos tech support, until I upgrade to Mac OS 10.10. Which I choose not to. FAVOR: Can somebody who hordes installers be so kind as to send me a 7.3 installer? I would love you for ever and ever. mick (at) mick jeffries dotcom
I have some stations, and some genres that I am not using anymore as a favorite. How do I remove them from Sonos favorites?
It would be superb (maybe essential) if one could export Sonos or imported playlists
How do I change the name of the speaker? I used to just go into settings and do this but it is no longer there and I can not find it anywhere now.
Hi, I have a problem with my sonos speakers and the spotify windows application. I have a Connect:Amp and a Play:1. In the windows sonos controller both are listed but in spotify the play:1 is there less than half of the time. Sometimes the connect:amp also doesn't show (this one is even connected to my computer through rj45, the play:1 is on wifi). Even when I start the playback from the sonos controller, spotify won't pick it up. Sometimes when I use the android Spotify app I will see the device that doesn't show in the windows app (and probably sometimes the opposite). It is very annoying and I don't know what to do about it. Because of this I didn't buy the other speakers I wanted : I need to be sure it works fine first. Can anybody help me? I would submit a diagnostic but I don't really know when since I don't see it appear/disappear immediately and the sonos app works fine. Thanks in advance.
I’ve received an email from Sonos regarding an update to their privacy policy ahead of new software and system updates next week. Alexa integration? I think so...
How do I remove fixed volume setting so I can adjust volume level independently by room. When I go in to setting > room setting and pick a room both the 'speaker touch controls' and 'white indicator light' features are selected
The current workflow for adding a Now Playing song to an existing Sonos playlist is cumbersome and too long.
Hi! On the Desktop version of Sonos Controller it's easy to add multiple tracks to a queue. Either I use the tick box for the tracks I want to add or I hold down SHIFT and select either by mouse or using arrow keys. Then I add them all in one command. Is there something similar in the iOS Controller? I can't figure out how. I can only add tracks one at a time which is a bit boring and time consuming. Of course I know I can add a whole album and things lika that. So my question is regarding cases where I want to add a couple of tracks from an album, parts of a big collection of tracks e.t.c.
Hi, I have two PLAY:1 speakers that I control from the (pretty appalling) iOS app playing from my uPnP music server on the network. However, I also have a large collection on a portable device that can stream directly to the speakers. The problem is that the Sonos announces themselves with their IP addresses so the portable device sees names such as "123.456.1.250 - Sonos PLAY:1" and "234.567.1.245- Sonos PLAY:1". Since i don't carry my network address table around in my head its a bit hit and miss which one I connect to (the pair are also DHCP so there's a chance the address could change). The friendly names are held, I believe, in an XML config file on each Sonos device. I can read the contents but can't change them. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance
I'd like to replace my kitchen radio with a sonos player. But there's one thing that is holding me back; I need a phone/tablet to use a sonos player. My radio has hardware buttons and that is a HUGE advantage in a kitchen environment. With 9 fingers messy from preparing food/whatever i can use my one clean finger to press power followed by a channel preset. This is a PAIN as it is today with a sonos system. I know there's buttons on the players, but 1: you cant pick a favorite/playlist, 2: your player(s) might me mounted out of reach. So; a small hardware unit with 3(ish) preset buttons that also powers on the player(s). Volume up/down and a pause/power off button. You could combine preset button long press with power-off/pause to save a button, but the affordance is a bit bad with this approach (it might be to hard for the average user to find out how to use the feature). The unit would have to be setup in the mobile/pc app; what playlist/favorite does each preset button play and wha
Hi there. I have an old version of Windows Vista to control my Sonos at home (besides my iPhone and iPad). But now I can't use it any longer. Is it possible to "DOWN/BACK-date" the PC-controller, so I still can use my PC as a controller? I would apreciate your help.
I notice that my Sonos app on my android phone is burning large amounts of bandwidth throughout the night, even though there is no device playing. For example last night MyDataApps reported that the Sonos App consistently used ~1MB of wifi bandwidth. Thats 1MB of data every hour. Sonos is the highest data bandwidth consumer on my phone. I'm very concerned about this because it is means the wifi is on and is depleting my phone battery overnight. Of course, I can get around this problem by turning off the wifi. But that defeats the purpose of having a wifi connection. What is the Sonos app doing to want to use 1MB of data every hour? What can I do you limit/reduce/stop this data burn and thereby reduce the battery consumption of the wifi. Thanks, Rob
My music played in the wrong room I selected. The beta was released today and now music I select to play in kitchen plays in tv room. Anyone else had this?
My kids seemed to have created another room with exactly the same name, and now I can't remove it.
