Is it posible to make a function with maximum sound level for some rooms? In my kitchen it's annoying when I have a party, and the guests just can set the volume to maximum.
Trying to find out if it's possible to play a (shuffled) playlist AFTER a song that is currently playing. Right now, it seems that if I choose to shuffle a playlist, there isn't a "Play Next" option and will cut-off the song currently playing.
Hi all, SInce I updated my laptop to windows 10 the sonos app won't work. I have tried to uninstall it and restart but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks
Similar to Itunes there should be Shuffle by album mode, which plays a complete album and then randomly plays another album in the playlist.
I'm fairly new to Sonos, Spotify (ex-Slacker user) and just today got an Amazon Echo Dot. I had already configured my Harmony remote to work with my new Play:5, but just a few minutes ago I added the Harmony skill to the Dot. Now I can simply say "Alexa, tell Harmony to turn on the Play 5" or "Alexa, tell Harmony to turn the volume up" or "Alexa, tell Harmony to skip this song." I have not found a way yet to request a specific song, artist, playlist yet so for now it immediately starts playing the default playlist I tied to the Harmony activity. I suppose I could add separate activities to the Harmony software, then give friendly names to each one within the Alexa software which would allow me to select various playlists. Has anybody else tried this configuration to use the Echo with Sonos? Curious to hear what your experience has been. Still trying to determine if there is a way to select a different Spotify playlist or radio station with voice. Thanks!!!
Hi - it has always been a mystery to me why crossfade is on a different controller panel (and hence harder to find) to the shuffle and repeat options. Logicaly to me they all function on the queue for a particular speaker. I expect it to be changed on each update, especially a major UI update like v8 - but no.
I have an Echo Dot, Harmony Hub and multiple Sonos boxes. My set is Tv on the wall, receiver, apple tv, dvd, cable box and sonos connect boxes in connected to receiver closet. My sonos connect boxes are zones, living room, sunroom, office, bedroom and a connect amp in the lounge. Once i installed my echo dot, it recognizes all the zones. Harmony app installed and I can't get it to move to sonos so i can play music. Also tv does not turn on or off with Dot but it does lock up the Harmony Remote until I push help key. Thoughts or clarifying questions?
Please explain to me why, after several years and many updates, I still can't sort a playlist by song title and/or artist. This is such a basic feature of every other music manager I've ever seen. Why hasn't Sonos added this feathre?
If I want to play music in the whole house, I have to group the Kitchen and Living Room together. I wish I could save that group as "Full house" and have it selectable, just as a room. Preferably, you would want to create all kinds of groups. Like "Dinner Insider" for Kitchen+Living room and "Dinner Outside" for Kitchen+Outside area.
First thing I'd like to state is that the Airplay device works with a standard speaker connected via a jack to my Airplay Express. I have configured a Sonos Connect called "Airplay", I have connected a Jack from airplay to RCA on the IN on the Sonos Connect. In my environment I also have 3 rooms configured, Kitchen (Sonos Connect -> Amp -> ceiling speakers), Living Room (Playbar and Play:1 x2) and Bedroom (Play3). I want to be able to play music from my iPhone over Airplay to the "Kitchen", I have configured as shown in the screenshot. However every time I close the tab to see if the config has been applied I get an exclamation mark and it doesn't work (see other screenshot). Am I missing something? Any guidance greatly appreciated.
Hi, this is just more (and more recent) requests to add support for AndroidTV with the Android controller... The main Sonos controller says not supported on my Sony Bravia 2016/2017 AndroidTV. From the Play Store. This was a post from a while back. https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/sonos-control-on-android-tv-box-needs-better-remote-interaction-6734000
Do you (Sonos) have any plans on introducing a Jukebox-mode to the Sonos-system. I guess a lot of users have tried having a party with a well prepared playlist blown to pieces by guests adding tracks to play next. I would like a mode where users where only able to ADD to queue...
What a major setback!
I would like to play HD Radio on my Sonos speakers. However, there doesn't appear to be a way to directly integrate a local music source into the desktop app. Currently, it is possible to play HD Radio on your computer using a $25 RTL-SDR USB adapter and the NRSC5 library. See: https://github.com/theori-io/nrsc5 I describe how to use this library along with Airfoil on my Mac in order to stream a radio station to networked speakers using Airplay or Google Cast here: http://freetime.mikeconnelly.com/archives/5052 Unfortunately, I cannot currently fling music to my new Sonos One speakers. There seem three possible options: 1) Wait for Google Assistant integration for the Sonos One speakers and anticipate that they will support Google Cast then. 2a) Create a Icecast music server. Pipe music from NSRC5 library to that. Then create a local Internet radio station on my Mac that "tunes" to the Icecast server. 2b) There might be a similar solution using UPNP rather than
Is it possible to bring my SONOS Play:1 with me to my college dorm room, using my laptop?
I'd like to see a feature which allows you to stream any audio output onto your Sonos system, e.g. use the audio of the YouTube, SkyGo app or any game you play. That would be quite neat.
The story is I have a very large music collection. I have all my music on a stand alone 3 TB Synology drive. Sonos is lynced to this one music folder. I update it but things are missing. Whole bands are missing. 9 Out Of 10 cds are missing from an artist. And it’s not just towards the end. This is in the B’s and E’s. I did read something up a 65,000 song limit but I thought the way I read it that was like through iTunes, not something like a Synology working off it’s own server, so to speak. Is there a fix? If so how? Thanks. Extremely frustrated. And don’t understand why this should be a problem.
Hi all If I am listening to music but searching for albums to add to my Sonos playlist from Spotify it won't let me add that album as the "done" button is greyed out? I can only add an album if I am playing it. Am I missing something?
How do you disable your daily Sonos alarm when you're away from your home?
I truly believe that the controller UI on Windows could use a revisit! It works okay, but it is not aligned with the new trends of the newer windows versions - like windows 10. Controller UI's on other platforms like Android or Mac see continuous improvements in controller UI - Why not Windows? While you are at it - go all the way, and make it a UWP app :8 ! Then I could control Sonos from Holo Lens! Sonos you where trend setting with your audio system - please continue to evolve - thanks!
Hi, I've just purchased a Sonos 3 and a Kindle Fire 8 HD to control it with. The trouble is the Kindle loses the connection to the Sonos regularly which is really annoying. This doesn't happen using either an iPhone or Samsung S7. I've connected the Sonos via ethernet and wirelessly and still get the same problem. Any ideas what the problem might be?
I used to be able to select my favorite stations, podcasts, etc from the Favorites tab. Has that gone away or am I just not looking hard enough? Using the app on my Android phone, hanging on to the older desktop version as long as I can. PS the white backgrounds are NOT an improvement.
I love my Sonos kit but I have to say the new release of controller is awful. Switching content and rooms just seems so much more clunky now, I’m never 100% which room or group i’m changing music for. Switching rooms is horrible too, the place I got to intuitively gives me the option only to group not switch. If this was the app available when I bought my first Sonos 1 I would have exactly one Sonos speaker in a cupboard, rather than over ten around the house. Favourites is a waste of space too, who lists content like that alphabetically??? Allow customisation or at least list the ones used most often on the home screen. The old controller was intuitive and worked so well, this one is a disaster. Needs sorting soon, do I continue to invest in the Sonos brand or jump ship now?
I have different rooms equiped with wall-mounted Play 3 devices. I would appreciate for an easy way to switch the music from one room to another. This is particularly useful if I spent some time building a playlist or selecting a radio station and that I don't want to have to go through search to find that station again. At the moment, my two options seems to be: 1- Stop the music in Room 1, then start music in Room 2 (need to rebuilt my playlist or search the radio station) 2- Group Room 2 to Room 1, and then ungroup Room 1 from Room 2. Both of those options are inelegant. If I could have some kind of "Sent to" function (or drag and drop a room on another one) that would be great.
Hi all, is there a way (automation) to disable WLAN of the speaker in case he have a LAN connection? KR Stephan
