Controllers and Music services

Without going in discussion on if the new app is good or bad... we have to deal with it. But i am looking for the genres list. When you search for a playlist or a radiostation in the old app there was a list with suggestions. Now you only have a blanc search field. Is this list still hidden somewhere?

New App Update is Terrible.... SONOS please listen to your customers and at least give us the option of using the old version. Why are you over thinking it. The previous version was about perfect. I use it everyday and now im fumbling and getting frustrated trying to control various rooms and sources... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

I have two Sonos accounts and want to merge the two. How do I change a registered Sonos One from one account to another?

Hi. Would it be possible to make it so you can adjust the eq sliders ect by tapping the plus and minus as i find the current method frustrating when dialing in my sound. Also an increase in the resolution of the controls would be nice too.

We have several different devices that we are using in the home to access sonos, including a samsung phone, ipad and an iphone. The only issue is with the iphone. When the sonos was initially setup 2 weeks ago there were no problems. Now when I go to the music services on the iphone it can't display any music and it says there is a network error. However, there is no network error and all the other controllers have no issues playing the music through the sonos one in our house speakers.

I want to search and save new Spotify playlists on my Sonos app. Every time I click on save as a Spotify playlist it flashes the screen for me to save a new playlist but then goes right to my playlists. This option only allows me to save the new playlist to an existing one!

Is anybody else finding that the new User Interface on an iPad is no longer as intuitive as it was before the recent upgrade? I'm not against change but this seems to have gone to far. Seems like a lot more selections required to Group SONOS units, and then to select music or radio items. The bar at the base of the window for home, units etc. perhaps should be visible on all screens. Less than impressed with this upgrade.

Once Google Assistance becomes available on Sonos, should it be able to use Play:1 speakers? Also I would think if you own a Android cell phone it should be able to emulate a Google Home Mini. Comments welcomed!

Hi. I have Sonos Play 5 which has been working well for a while. I moved place and had to setup the system again. Once I have set up and trying to add music folders to my library I am getting Error 900. I tried the solution given in the FAQ section of editing the registry but having done this 2 times and reinstalled the player I am still unable to add the folders to the library. Went through the forums and can't find a single solution for the problem across multiple threads. Need this to use my device. Please help

I have noticed recently that when changing channels on my tv the sound disappears! If I scroll through the channels, back and forth, the sound will come back eventually. What could be causing this problem?

Not to cause a panic but according to an article on CNet " Practically every modern processor is vulnerable" to the subject bad guys. To be clear INTEL, AMD and ARM chips were specially mentioned. Specific products were laptops, tablets and phones. No mention of smart speakers like Sonos. I am unable to get back to the top browse screen (where I have a choice of my library, radio stations, music services, etc. after having searched for and listened to an item chosen via my iPad or iPhone app. Navigation is fine using the app on my PC. Is there a way to return to the top browse screen on IOS devices? Thanks

I can't use my macbook pro to access Sonos ? Can you walk me though a solution here ? OSX10.9.5

hello, recently, my sonos started adding all songs i play (i usually play from the music library) to my queue. when the selected songs finish playing, sonos plays the queue - so sonos plays my selections twice. if i don't clear the queue, new songs are appended and the replay gets very long. how to i tell sonos not to add songs to the queue, and/or not to play the queue after it completes my current selection?

Can I sync my google agenda with my Sonos so Sonos Will give me a alarm and if possible what the activity is?

PLEASE add "Artist Radio" to the Tidal app within the Sonos app. It's not there that I can find. Also I can't save a "favorite artist" from the app either. I can do both of these things from the Tidal webplayer, so they're there. Thanks!!!

I see this has been discussed the past few years, but is this a feature/setting that is available? Ability to mute system/device when calls come in?

I have created a Playlist for a party. I have been adding songs. Is there any way to get information on the duration or play time of the list? e.g. The list takes 1 hour 20 minutes to play. Thanks much.

Been using android sonos app on my galaxy s8+ with no issues for months. When running, sonos icon never disappeared from notification area until starting yesterday when I purchased an echo dot and set up for use with sonos. Now, everything still works, but I need to formally open sonos app on order to use on phone, as the icon always disappears from notification area. I made no changes to my preferences after installing echo dot in my house.

I have just created a trigger using "Stringify" that (using "SmartThings" and a "Harmony Hub 'Activity' ") plays a specific playlist on my "Sonos" when I turn a light ON in the kitchen. That Sonos playlist was copied from Spotify. This is good ... but it would be better if the SONOS playlist could sync with my Spotify playlist so that the playlist on my SONOS "United Kingdom Top 50" (which is a copy of the playlist with the same name on my Spotify) is always up-to-date. I have the list playing 'shuffle play' so I get different songs each time, but I will soon notice that the playlist is always from December 2017! NB: The Harmony Hub can only 'See' the playlist that is saved on my SONOS, not the Spotify playlists. Thanks

I've got two Sonos 3 and a Sonos 1 set up in different rooms, with the app running on my phone and a home tablet. What's the best way to control this system? Meaning, if I want to stop the music in the bedroom, do I pause it on the app or pause it with the button on the speaker? Is one way better than the other? Same question with volume. What's the best suggested practice for this?

I did it once by slowly moving my ipad around, keeping it generally pointed towards the sonos. Seemed to work well. Had a "pro" come by to install my playbase, and he waved his iPhone around like a manic, pointing it in all different directions, waving it quickly. Could be my imagination or bad memory, but it seemed worse this way. In general, what's the best way to move the device around when tuning?

This has only happened 3 or 4 times since setting up my system 4 months ago. But it seems to be getting worse. My master volume on the phone app has just slowly increased to max volume by itself! Once this turned up my Playbar, Sub and 2 Play 5s to MAX VOLUME downstairs as I was walking upstairs and connecting to my Play 1 in the bathroom. Needless to say my wife (and 6 weeks old daughter) were not overly impressed with this new feature. I've also found on occasion that it just turns everything down and if it try to turn it back up it just goes back down. And I've also once had it smash up to max volume and then the app gives me the buffer load wheel and i cant turn it down. It feels like SkyNet is getting in there and trying to destroy my families ears. This is a very annoying issue for a $5000 home HIFI rig. Any advice on how to stop this happening?

Full disclosure up front: this is very much a 1st world problem I am asking about and is barely an inconvenience. That said..... I have a setup with 18 different zones/rooms on different floors and locations. 2 things I would LOVE to see added to the controller app are: 1) The ability to single button ungroup - so say for instance I have 10 zones grouped together, I can ungroup them all with a single click. 2) The ability to create sub-groups for frequently group zones, for example "Upstairs" grouping all the rooms upstairs, or "basement" grouping the basement and garage areas. This way I can single click a sub-group instead of hunting through the room list each time to create the group.

I have sonos 5.1 set up in living room which works well. I now have a play 5 in the dining room that works well,(meshed). Problem is my phone and laptop need stronger wifi in the dining room and would a single channel extender work without disrupting sonos?
