I would like to have a new update fix for iPhone X asap.
I'm away from home for the holidays and just realized that I have an automated Sonos alarm setup. I was hoping I could remotely disable this (just like every other "smart" device on earth), but found another post here claiming that the only way to deal with this is to have a "friend or family member get as close to my home as possible to login to my wifi, use my credentials, and alter the alarm settings." This can't seriously be true, can it? I can't simply turn off my alarm using my phone whenever I travel (which would effectively mean that this feature is entirely useless for anyone who ever travels)? Is my Sonos system going to uncontrollably blare loud music disturbing my neighbors for the next 10 days???
Have had Sonos since 2012. Equipment was all installed and registered under my name and email. Somehow, after moving to a new home, my son managed to change the email and system registration. Now am locked out and can't setup system using all of my current equipment. Have Play 1, Play 3, Play 5, 2 Connect units and 2 connect Amps.
Was playing through connect in my living room an hour or so ago. This room has now disappeared from the app. I've tried rebooting the connect and my router and neither get the connect to show. The connect does come up if I connect directly to the router with a cable. Everything else in the room is working over WiFi and as I said, it was working over WiFi a couple of hours ago . Very very annoying how can I fix this
When tagging music with genre, it should be possible to use more than one and instead have multiple genres. For example: Benjamin Grosvenor's Rhapsody in Blue is not just "classical". It is "classical" and "piano" and "piano concerts" and "romantic" and "british". Rammstein's Herzeleid is not just "rock" but also "industrial metal" and "neue deutsche härte" and "german". Mike Oldfield's Exposed is not just "pop" but also "guitar" and "live" and "symphonic rock" and "orchestral". It is extremely difficult to shoehorn music into genres as it is, keeping it organised with only one genre is downright impossible. Some cross-over genres are even so eclectic that setting just one genre is unfeasible, e.g. Rodrigo y Gabriela or Roger Greenawalt and David Barratt's Beatles on Ukulele project. I am aware that using a UPnP server remedies this but since UPnP support is rudimentary at best (not mentioning having to have a server running), this is not a viable solution.
.. all nicely listed out like it is on my computer or CR200? If this is possible, please give me specific info on how to get there from another Sonos ios screen. Thank you.
I used to rave about SONOS a few years ago when I bought my system. Today, I regret it! The controller is the most unreliable piece of carp I have ever bought in my life. It crashes for no reason; it stops playing for no reason. It does not recognize my music library. It is capricious. I could go on and on...:@
I have gone into my Notification preferences panel and disabled Sonos per Auni's post here: https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/alerts-from-sonos-are-irritating-6757175 However, I am still getting Sonos notifications, which are coming through Chrome (?!). I checked my Chrome Extensions, and I don't have any kind of "Sonos" chrome extension, so I'm a little puzzled why this is coming from Chrome, and how to stop it?
I can't get my playlists imported from iTunes from my Mac. It looks like all the songs come over but not the playlists. I keep getting the error message above in the error log and do not know what is wrong. What should I do?
1. Is there a way to access data about what you have played through Sonos? Like in itunes you can see the history of what you have played and each track has a count of plays. 2. And if so, is there a way to merge/add this to an itunes library? Ideally I'd like to maintain a combined count of how many times each track has been played across the two systems (itunes and Sonos). Thanks!
I've used Sonos for several years now, and while I haven't been fan of the controller software it never caused me the level of frustration and outright anger I feel every time i use it now. It did it's job and overall I never gave it much thought. Context: we have 5 Play 1's, one Play 3 and one Play 5. 95% of the time I use the Android controller to control my system, unless I'm working from home on my Windows machine, and then I will use the Windows app. (Thank God I still have that...) I'd been ignoring the new release, as I knew I had no need for the Alexa features, but finally relented, as I got sick of seeing the prompt in the UI, and foolishly had not read any comments about the upgrade. From the get go, my first thoughts were: * Slow and sluggish - I use the software on a Nexus 9 tablet and a Pixel phone. On both of those devices the UI is markedly slower than the previous one, especially when searching for artists or tracks, or grouping/un-grouping devices. * Utterly un
I would like to see more options in the sleep timer. I primarily purchased the Play:1 for my bedroom. I'd like to be able to set the sleep timer for any amount of time, instead of the short list of presets at 15, 30, minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours. I'd like to be able to add whatever amount of time I choose. It would also be nice to be able to set it up like an alarm, where I can preset the amount of time and play list, so I don't have to go through that each time. Thanks for reading!
I have a 9-node system using Wifi (no bridge). All nodes play fine, but with the latest PC controller, I've noticed that if I leave it idle for a while (e.g., pause music playout for 10 minutes or more) then come back and hit the play button, I get the error message on the first try. On the second try, it works fine. Tried resetting the controller, no luck. Advice?
How do I access the queue on the iPhone in 8.3? On the iPad "Show queue" appears to the right of the volume bar, but it is not there on the iPhone.
Sonos app allows anybody to play/use if they have Wifi access. So if i share my wifi password with my guest he gets access to my Sonos set-up. With bridge we had to connect once with bridge, which was some what a security feature. Even better if we could control access to certain group of speakers. I don't want children/guest to use my bedroom speakers only their rooms and my be common areas.
I don't seem to be able to play music from my Sono app in my car. Does any one know why? Please explain why? I have downloaded music through Apple Music. Is it only music you play for that could be played in a car?
Playbase and speakers all working fine on the TV and volume can be controlled via the TV remote. However since the last upgrade all the Android Apps (phone, tablet) can't "find" my Sonos. When you start the App .... Searching for Sonos on WiFI, Hang on ... Can't connect. Unplug router, reinstall App, ... Nada. As I said the playbase and the remote speakers all work fine off the TV, I just can't play music from my phone or use the apps advanced sound features like speech enhancement, nighttime etc.
My 8 node Sonos system has worked for years using the SonosNet and my CR100 is still going - but I accept that in the name of progress I will have to ditch it soon. IOS and Android apps on my mobile devices do not always manage to connect to my system because they use my home wireless network (not the SononsNet) and coverage is not as good as the Sonos mesh (which the CR100 uses). This leads me to my question...in order to improve my home wireless network I am going to buy a 3 node mesh system plugged directly into my internet router - I am concerned that this will set up a separate network from the one used by Sonos thereby preventing wireless devices connected to the new mesh (eg. Android apps) from connecting to wired devices connected to my router (eg. Sonos bridge). Can you confirm that I have nothing to worry about? Surely, since both the new mesh and the existing Sonos bridge will be connected directly to my router (and this will be my DHCP server unless the ne
Is there a way to add all my songs on my iphone to the queue in one step? Browse to "on this phone" then a play all. Same question for the PC controller. I find it very frustrating to have to build a playlist.
Forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic. I see the thread regarding how the API update effects the CR100, but I wanted to discuss the new API features, if announced and what that means, as well as speculate on unannounced features. IMO, Sonos has to be awre that many customers are going to be upset with the CR100, so it's safe to assume they believe this API update is an absolutel necessity and/or will make just as many customers happy. [Please don't use this thread to complain about the lose of CR100 or any other features lost. Other threads for that. Let's just talk about new features] I got an email from Yonomi describe some of the features. - Improved stereo pair/surround zone support. What does that mean? The only thing i can come up with is the ability to create or remove a pair/surround setting through API. Perhaps there will be a feature to play audio on a specific speaker in a zone setup without first breaking the speaker out of the pair/surroun
I use Tidal HiFi, and I loooove their desktop app. It's been announced that you can control Sonos from their app like Spotify Connect. I don't know if I have set it up poorly, or if it's a mobile exclusive feature for now? If it is available for desktop, does anyone know what to do? Maybe I am missing a crucial part? Tidal works, but I can't use their app. Any help from avid Tidal users would be grand, thanks for the help if you choose to reply. 🙂
Can you hide a playlist? I made a Christmas playlist, but now the songs keep playing well beyond Christmas. On iTunes I simply uncheck the boxes for songs that I don't want to play. Somehow this doesn't register in my Sonos. Help. I also made a Sonos playlist of Christmas songs. Do I have to delete the entire thing until next year?
My friends at SONOS, can you "please" take your iOS app and port it to run on TvOS? This would be a grand slam for me and others who use Apple TV 4, have it connected to their home entertainment system and have SONOS speakers all over the house. Home Run! Grand Slam! Bingo. Please please please......
Sonos always crashes after I try to shuffle my songs in Apple Music. When will this be fixed?
Hi. New to Sonos and this community. I just started putting a system together and I am in love. Like romantically head over heels in love with this brand and the products. I know it sounds weird and I have been talking to my therapist about it. But I digress.... These may have already been suggested, but for an even more optimal sound experience I’d make the following suggestions: 1. A more expanded EQ, to include at least a Mid-Level slider (to go along with the Bass and Treble). The more sliders the better, but at least add that third. 2. The ability to have distinct EQ settings for TV and Music. I know there are some surround sound speaker adjustments that can be made. But the full EQ settings would be great. 3. Ability to adjust right vs left volume of my surrounds. The way my apartment is set, just so happens that my couch/chairs are much closer to the left surround than the right. I really don’t want to get a stand to place the right surround for va
