When playing music and getting an incoming call on my android phone there's no easy and fast way to mute the music, (as I now about). Is there any way to have this issue fixed. As it is today I choose to not play music due to incoming work calls.
One feature that I and many other people would like to see on all Sonos speakers would be that when the user presses pause/stop the audio would gradually decrease to mute before stoping, that way when playing music at any level you don't harm the speaker(s). I personally decrease the volume to mute before presses pause/stop, it would be nice to have that feature built-in to the echo system. If the user doesn't want that feature they you can disable it, as it is on by default.
Currently the option to switch of the status light only switches off one of the lights on top of the new Sonos one speaker. Please, if possible can all of the lights on the top switch off, there is no point having one light go off and the other stay on, for example in a dark bedroom....
The release notes for version 6 indicates that Trueplay is supported by Play:1, Play:3, and Play:5 units. Has anyone tried it on a ZonePlayer S5?
Absolutely feb up to the back teeth with all the updates and having to continually reset my router of toggle WiFi to get the app connected to my system nalways used to be fine until all the updates I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve updated in the last 6 months
I added an additional Sonos 1 to my "TV room" and accidentally assigned it to "family room." How do I fix that so it's part of the "Living room"? Also, i have two Sonos ones in there already set as stereo. Do I add the third Sonos 1 as an independent source? What's best? Thanks for your help!
I am a GREAT fan of Sonos but I am one of those dinosaurs who like HiFI you can touch and I LOVE my dedicated hardware controllers CR100 for my SONOS system. Having the SONOS app on my Smartphone along with a lot of other apps is just not as intuitive to me when I want to control my Sonos as the CR100 is. I have just heard that service of the CR100 will be discontinued April 2018 and that they will even be locked out of my SONOS system and thereafter useless. To say it mildly I am very disapointed!!! I do understand that Sonos will not update these very old controlers any more but WHY cut them out of the system for good??? I would gladly accept limited funtionality from these units and keep it to Mute/Volume control and Next/play/pause if it ment that I could keep these online. PLEASE SONOS RECONSIDER and let the CR100 have a place in my brilliant SONOS system. PLEASE!!
It would be great if the Sonos app could function as the Android homescreen/launcher. I'm certain many people would like to purchase (cheap $50) tablets to function as a dedicated Sonos controller. Any Android app can be extended to function as a homescreen/launcher simply by adding some additional blocks in the Android manifest file and being able to handle a few extra callbacks. This will be very little work to do on top of the existing Android app.
I just upgraded to Sierra on my Mac and want to install the Sonos App. Nothing happens. It looks like in Sierra the third party install option is not available. There has to be another way to install it. Would like to stream music from my Mac. Currently it does work on my iPhone. Please help.
Is Sonos tracking user response to this update? I've been taking a screenshot of reviews from the Google Play Store daily. Here is a breakdown of the Play Store reviews from 10/7/2017 to 10/15/2017. 5 star: +8 4 star: -5 3 star: +32 2 star: +155 1 star: +396 I have attached screenshots for reference. At a ratio of 137.75 bad reviews (1 or 2 star) to every single good review (4 or 5 star), I think it's safe to say that most users don't like this update. I don't have stats from the Apple Store, but the reviews from there indicate IOS users have very strong negative reactions. From what I've seen on the forums, the response here is not much better. Can we expect some type of fix soon?
I have a sonos speaker in my office and it literally has never worked for more than one song. It's constantly disconnecting, skipping songs, fading in and out. The desktop app is a complete mess and the mobile app can never connect. It prompts me to update the software on my sonos but then cannot connect to do so. Worst software ever! What a waste!
I'm trying to do a factory reset to clear all the settings of a ZP100. I've done the following: 1) Unplugged the ZP100 and waited for a minute 2) Pressed the Mute button and plugged the ZP100 back in 3) Waited for the orange/amber light to flash However, instead of turning flashing green it reverts to solid white light. Would appreciate any help? (And I've tried contacting Sonos customer support but they say since I bought this unit used (off ebay), I'm not entitled to support.) The reason I'm doing a reset is because the ZP100 no longer connects to my home internet - wired or wireless - so I'd like to "start over" with it in hopes that I can get it to connect. (It used to work before the Holidays...)
Folks, I see postings but no resolution to this and I haven't had any responses from the wise people at Sonos that aid but does anyone have an issue with grouped alarms with 8.2. Essentially when setting an alarm there is an option to turn on a "grouped room" switch. however this doesn't work (only the primary room plays the music, I have to regroup manually) and when I edit the alarm the button does not reflect my prior selection to group alarms. Is there something I am missing? I have about 11 different Sonos devices on the same network.
Taking a sonos one to pool
I connected the controller app on my iPhone to my different Sonos devices (bridge, play 5, and two play 1's). After connecting each, the app says "Some of your Sonos components need to be udpated." When I click "Check for Updates" I get the message "NO UPDATE REQUIRED". When I click Done, it drops me back onto the same "Check for Updates" screen. The same thing happens when I try it from my Macbook Pro and my iPad. How can I get out of this loop and start using my devices?
I've been using Sonos for some time now, starting with play:1 and then playbar. I remember being sceptical and expecting to having problems setting up for the first time, but was amazed with the simplicity of the process. It was one of the most user friendly experience I've had, both setting up and using the controller with Spotify and my own library on my server. Room controlling was very straight forward. After recent updates to the controller, both iOS and Android, the whole experience has changed to the worse. I've bought two more play:1 to add to even more rooms. The setup process adding speakers now require me to reinstall the app on my device to get the new speakers/rooms showing up, on every device for each added speaker. The general GUI is now confusing, both choosing which room I want to play, volume settings and, most frustrating; grouping. When choosing rooms to play, I never get the system to respond the first time; I have to choose speakers multiple times. The sluggi
I have been a Sonos user and installer for about 10 years now, and I just have to air this out once and for all --frankly, the user interface of the current phone app (both for android and iphone) is the most poorly designed version yet. I don't wish to offend anyone in Sonos, but I wish to report that all my clients have complained to me about it. It seems that it was created to make it as simple and plain as possible. Well it does, and it also looks very crude. I wish you guys could make a much better and sleek version of it because it doesn't complement the awesome system. Thanks. P.S. You could start with changing the white background.
Hi All, I recently had Sky Q. I have changed from a boost to a wireless setup to take advantage of the mini-box hotspots which are wired to the Sky Q router in by Ethernet (due to house with thick walls). However, although the hotspots give full signal for my IPad, even though they share the same SSID as the Sky Q router, the speakers are only recognised when in the vicinity of the router or themselves but not by the SKy Q mini-box hot spots. Does anyone have any thought on this? Much appreciated, Ed.
I have an extremely annoying pop up that’s appeared on my sonos iPad app. I choose a cd to play from my collection and every time a pop up saying "Go Unlimited and a 30 day trial" How do I stop this, if sonos are now popping up adverts I’ll be extremely annoyed. Thanks
I get the same error every time 😠 (running desktop client on mac osx)...any help is appreciated: '//AlexMBP/Music' is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path may have changed. Go to Manage > Music Library Settings to check the path name
I created several alarms to play music for a few hours a day when we're not home. We have 3 Sonos speakers. In the alarm settings, under Rooms (iOS), I always activate "Include Grouped Rooms". Now, it'll stay on as long as I only edit the alarm in the iOS app. Problem is, sometimes, I edit my alarms on the Mac desktop app. When I open any alarm in the desktop app, that same setting is deactivated. Always. Further, if I reactivate it (turn it on), it won't be saved. So in order for me to use this function, I need to only and always edit my alarms on my iOS device (tablet or phone, it's all the same). I have included an image which shows the parameter being at on in the iPad, but at off on the desktop app. Is that a known bug ?
I group my speakers in several different ways depending on what we're doing. rather than manually having to group them each time, can I name my groups. Advantage would also be, I assume, that I can get Alex to play to that group of speakers. I understand I can group devices in Alex but see that it has problems doing it that way. Appreciate anyone's experience with doing this.
Would it be possible to include song lyrics in the SONOS app? (similar to Shazam). Currently I have to start a song, and than switch quickly to my browser to search for the lyrics on azlyrics or similar. I don't know how this relates to copyright issues but several sites already exist for years without any problems.
My Samsung tablet (Galaxy Tab 2 with Kitkat, GT-P5110 and 4.2.2) can not control my Sonos. The app says I need to update? But I got the latest version from the Playstore...
How can I adjust the volume of my Sonos speakers from Android Google Play Music or the home screen? Background: When using Google Play Music or from the Android home screen, the hardware volume keys don't adjust the volume. The hardware volume keys do work from the Sonos app, I can adjust the volume only if Sonos is open. I've also noticed the Sonos app does not show a notification. In advanced settings I've enabled "Show Notifications" and "Allow Volume Control on Home Screen" Diagnostic info: 7776465 Thoughts?
