Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

How do I rename a speaker ? The helpline says to go into Settings and then Room Settings, but my App doesn't come up with 'Room Settings'.... is there an obvious way ? I've done it before but completely forgotten how !!
I have Sonos on a NAS into my router. It is accessible/controlled via apps on 3 iphones, 2 Ipads, 1 Microsoft Surface, 1 Lenovo and I Apple Macbook pro 13' retina (late 2013). All work great. Occassionally one of other will have a problem when a Sonos controller update is applied. This time it is the Apple Macbook. It is saying that there is no Sonos available try connecting to the correct network. The Macbook is on the correct network. I have tried 1. Connect to existing system. Following the instructions as the app walks through I can not get any connection to the speaker. 2. Uninstalled the app on the Macbook and reinstalled. Got the same result 3. Tried as a new install but the lights on the speaker show as solid white so the app advises that there speaker is already set up, to add, continue. Pressing next takes me back to the screen instruction to confirm is a green light is on. So around in circles Can you please advise what other actions I can to to get back to where I w
I would like to have options to configure how the cross-fade works. Ideally, there would be two settings for this. How many seconds from the end of the song to start the cross-fade and the length of time in seconds the cross-fade should take. For example, start the cross fade 20 seconds before the song ends and cross-fade for 9 seconds.
A Sonos user would like to have the Radio station icons diplayed when saved in the My Radio Station Icons. Currently the icon does not show up in My Radio Station: What do you think about it?
I love the look-and-feel of the new app (running it on an iPad 2, iPhone 5C & an iPhone 3Gs in guided access mode as a dedicated controller). There was a slight learning curve - especially finding how to change rooms, enable cross fade & play tracks in the queue in a random order. I like the new layout of the main screen but was wondering is it possible to personalise the icons used under Sonos Favourites? I'm not really a fan of the size of these icons as they are significantly larger than the ones above them (ie. Sonos Playlist, Music Library, This iPad, Line In, Radio & Add Music Services) I have 4 items in my Sonus Favourites:- a Radio Station (displays station logo), a couple of shortcuts to two folders in my music library which contain playlists of artist compilations & new albums and a shortcut to one large playlist (not a Sonos Playlist) containing several hundred of my favourite tracks. Other than the Radio Station the 3 shortcuts display the default icon which IMO is
Can I have multiple iPhones with the Sonos App to control the Soundbar (obviously not at the same time)
Now that TuneIn no longer accepts new radiostations being added it would be nice if Sonos could make the process of adding radiostreams easier AND I strongly recommend Sonos to let the user being able to switch between broadcast providers. I listen to broadcasters and my own streams NOT streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify etc. See here: https://help.tunein.com/where-is-the-add-station-form--r19jJ_ajz https://radio.co/blog/tunein-not-accepting-radio-stations/ I would like to know what Sonos will do about this?
I'd love to see support for Multiple Sonos User profiles. For example, my music is in one library, my kids and wife have music in another location. You allow multiple file locations to be indexed, it would be great if I could set up 1 master Sonos profile, then each member of my family, including myself, would set up there own account under the master and choose what Library\locations and music services would show up under their profile.
Really? It's not possible to get Sonos for Mac OS 10.9.5? First, the recent upgrade removed my Pandora Thumbs Down option. So, I uninstalled Sonos. Now with the new version I'm told I need to upgrade my Mac OS. No way. Everything is working fine on this Mac -- I have another one that is newer and much of my workflow is broken on that one. Now Sonos is broken on this one. I find it hard to believe that they can't (won't) keep a 10.9.5 version available.
I'm wondering if I can lock my sonos system down so only I can control it?
I must say I'm disappointed to hear that only the 3 newest Sonos devices will actually support AP2 streaming directly. I was under the impression that the upcoming addition of AP2 support to Sonos would simply be a software update. 1. Does AP2 direct streaming actually require unique hardware only found on the latest Sonos units or do I have any other option, other than to buy one of the 3 supported Sonos devices? 2. If I were to, for example, stream youtube audio from my Macbook in the bedroom to a supported Sonos unit elsewhere in the house and then group my stereo paired gen1 P5's in the bedroom, would there be any noticeable audio delay? If so, would the delay be less if I were streaming directly to two gen 2 P5's in the bedroom?
Seems this question has been brought up before, but without the feature being present? Is there no way to setup Sonos to remove tracks from the queue after playing - it's quite annoying finding something you played recently playing again as it's still in the queue / looped around or something.
I have an older Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 laptop. I have downloaded Sonos Desktop Controller onto it from the website but I can't open it, it keeps saying reason is "not recognized". The Sonos apps work on my ipad and iphone but I can't get Sonos to work on my laptop. Need Help!
Hi - Currently I have 3 room groups. Kitchen, Bedroom and sitting room. I have one Sonos One speaker but the rest of the set up consists of a Playbar, Sub and 5 Sonos Play:1 boxes. Do you know whether I will need to have a 'newer' device (Sonos one/playbase etc.) attached to each group or does the fact that I have one Sonos:one allow me to keep the groups of older speakers working nicely when the new facility comes along? Thanks, Richard
Can't find how to rename a room in the iPad or iPhone app. Help needed.
Hi all. I upgraded my phone to Android Oreo about a month ago and suddenly it started to use insanely amounts of power, it was really hot to the touch and the battery was drained in hours. After weeks of searching and uninstalling/reinstalling of various apps I've come to the conclusion that this only happens when the official Sonos Controller app (8.4) is installed. I feel kinda naked without that particular app so I'm keen to solve it. I haven't found any traces of anyone else with the same problem. Am I really the only one? Anyone knows what to do about it?
Problems after last UPDATE to 8.5.2 which did FIRMWARE on Speakers with NO WARNING thereby pooching my system for weeks until I managed a work around with LITTLE HELP or advice from Sonos Staff.
I’m told my controller needs updating and then I’m taken to the App Store but there’s no “update” or “download” link - just “open” which takes me back to my 8.4 controller which won’t run until it’s updated to 8.5. Help!!!!
Hi Sonos, Please somebody tell us, if and when airplay support will be added. It is definitely possible to do as some people have already written open source code to do it. But it is a hassle to use as I need to run a program on my mac to be able to stream music directly to my sonos speakers from my music app on my iPhone or iTunes. I can already now stream my AppleMusic from the cloud , I can stream DRM music. With airplay we just don't need to worry about your controller limitations. Why can't you guys add official support,so I don't need to remember to start the service on my mac? You are in the business of hardware, let Apple and others be in the business of music software. I am now Apple Music subscriber and most of my music is in the cloud. and all the speakers I bought over $4000 USD would be worthless to me because none of my new music is accessible via official channels. Thank god for the open source project that makes is available and simple. So it is doable even by peop
How do I change the email address attached to my account. Tried to change in profile area but would not accept change?
I'm trying to reconnect Sonos with my iTunes library. It seems to see all of my iTunes music, but it can't seem to find any of my playlists (under Imported Playlists) How can I fix this?
Hi, When I swipe down on my notification bar the Sonos controls are missing. Sonos is currently running, and this was here in the past. Any advice? Cheers Cathal.
I'm hoping someone from Sonos can chime in here, as there's not a lot of concrete information in the blog post. I have a Playbar 5.1 system and am willing to buy a Sonos ONE to add Airplay 2. The blog post mentions When you group one of these Airplay-enabled speakers with older Sonos devices, you can bring AirPlay capabilities to your entire Sonos system. and the image on the airplay page shown the Playbar. But I'm confused and concerned on exactly what this statement means. I would like it to mean: "When you have one Airplay 2 speaker in your Sonos ecosystem, Airplay 2 will work on all of your Sonos speakers." But to me the statement really seams to say "When you group an Airplay 2 speaker with older speakers, Airplay 2 will work with that group." I fear that the latter is how this is being implemented, which would mean that, for example, if you have older Sonos speakers in 3 rooms, you would need 3 Sonos ONEs to add Airplay 2 to every room. Which would suck. And in partic
I would like to be able to use more than one TV or Tivo or other remote to control volume of Sonos. Kind of a pain if you're holding your tivo remote and navigating with it, but you have to get your tv remote or iphone app just to decrease or increase or mute the volume. Seems like a simple thing, my last soundbar allowed me to use at least two different remotes to change it's volume and it was a much less expensive soundbar than the Sonos.
Hi Was glad to hear that you're going to support airplay 2 in 2018. Im just wondering if this will be a software / firmware update that willl work with older speakers, like play; 1, 3 etc. or will airplay 2 only support the new speaker Sonos One?
