Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have found there is no "history" link or button in Sonos. Although Sonos is fantastic and next to miraculous in so many respects, not having a way to replay a track or retrieve a search is a real shortcoming. Once a number has been played one must re-do the search for the track or the album all over again. Has anyone found a way around this. I would like to petition Sonos to provide a "history" feature.
Is there a way to password protect the room settings? I use Sonos in a shared space on a shared network and someone constantly fiddles with the EQ and loudness settings. I would love to be able to lock these with a pin or password.
I would like to leave Sonos Beta testing. iTunes doesn't recognize it, and I would like to not be asked to download updates each time I use the application, especially when apple will not let me use the app on my phone when I do.
This coupon rebate is the most poorly handled customer retention program I have ever witnessed. An email announcing the planned bricking of several hundred dollars of hardware purchased in good faith from the company. Great, thanks for the warning. Too bad you never asked my opinion or gave me the option of keeping it. Then you offer a single coupon for the 1 to N number of CR100s that I have. Not one coupon per device, no, just one. Although I did have to contact support to find this out. It wasn't communicated in the email announcement. So at this point, I was PO'd at this taking more time out of my day. But wait, here is a form to fill out. It requires all of my personal information (that I have in the account that I've had to create for some strange reason) and the individual product serial numbers. The completion of this step generates a third email that requires a verification of my email address, and that takes me to a screen that tells me the link as expired. Friday a fourth e
What about an option for maximum volume on startup? I often enjoy my Sonos at high volume. However, when using it the next time a neighbour-friendly volume level by default would be helpful.
Hi guys, I have 3 Play:1’s in my livingroom. Two of them were paired and also set up with trueplay for some time now. Today I bought an extra Play:1 to fill a part of the living room where the sounds was less intense. Obviously I can’t make a pair with three of them. But can I do trueplay on them so the sound of the three speakers join well together? How can I do this for all of them? Thanks in advance !! Vincent
Looking for the procedure to re-run the Trueplay calibration.
I have a Play:5 in the kitchen, a Play:1 in the office and the 5.1 setup in the living room (Playbar, Sub and Play:3 satellites). I like to start the day playing radio at a specific volume on all zones, and depending on what I did the day before, I need to manually group zones and adjust volume for all zones, which is quite cumbersome. It would be great to save a preset that does this automatically and even starts playing the radio station I want, or playlist, or artist etc. It could also just be a preset that just adjust volume for some/all zones without affecting currently playing music. Or it could be stopping music on all zones that might not be grouped. On Android there's a 3rd party app called Macronos that enables something similar to what I want, but we need to have it better and on all controllers.
Music Library Settings, Service Settings, Add Radio Station and Update Music Library Now options under Manage are all greyed out and I am trying to update my music library. When I click on About My Sonos System it shows that I have Version 8.1 installed.
Sonos was recently modified to allow broadcasting via WIFI without a Bridge or Boost. This is a great option. I would suggest a further, related enhancement. In large homes it is common to have 2 or more access points to provide strong WIFI throughout the house. The current deployment of Sonos over WIFI works with multiple access points on the same subnet only if you use the same SSID for all access points. While there are some advantages to using the same SSID for "roaming" it is often found that many phones and laptops do not automatically switch to the stronger signal of the closest access point if they can still get a signal (albeit weak) from the further access point they originally connected to. To address this many of us use different SSIDs (still on same subnet) so users can manually connect to the stronger signal if desired when moving around the house. Unfortunately the current Sonos iphone software will not find you system if you ch
Please Sonos, provide a dual mono output on connect:amp for using in two separete rooms please, please, please thanks Andrea
Hey, my parents have a sonos system and it convinced me to buy my own Sonos speaker. Now, my parents can play music directly from sonos (you search for any artist and it shows up). They are using a Sonos controller (not the Sonos app). I just installed my Sonos :1 player, and it appears that I can only play radio stations from the app. I can't search for artists or music directly (results say "nothing found"). I guess I could use a 3rd party streaming service (spotify, itunes, etc.), but I prefer not to. Is there any reason why my parents have access to a free and very large database of music on Sonos, and I don't? Do I need to change something in my settings? Thanks for your support! P.
I am changing wireless connections and want to play my existing Sonos Playlist on the new connection after we move. Is there a way to save/export the sonos playlist before I change connections which I can then import when the new wireless connection is set up? The playlist has built over time and now has thousands of songs in so we don't want to lose it! Thanks in advance for any help.
This is a trivial item: In the Sonos Controller for Mac, when I click on Radio By TuneIn, I see a radio station named Band Of Horses Radio (see attached image). Not sure if it's a station I added, or if it's there by default. I clicked around a bit, but don't see a way to delete it. When I select it and right-click to get Info & Options, there are only options to add the station to favourites. Any way to delete it? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53682537/Sonos.png
Hi. I know this is not possible as it is today, since Sonos doesn't have HDMI. But will it be possible with airplay 2 support or apple HomeKit? Today I have only streaming services and therefor my Apple TV is my only source. The remote is hooked nice and easy up with my Sonos 5.1 system. BUT a mayor missout for me, is the possibility to control the volume within the Apple TV app. My hope is, that with the arrival of airplay 2, Sonos sound can be controlled with Apple TV remote. It is the only missing link for a complete minimalistic setup.
I am led to believe iOS 11.4 will be released later today allowing Airplay 2 support; assuming Sonos will also release an update to allow this function soon?
I have a turntable plugged in to a Sonos Connect that's running a pair of bookshelf powered speakers. I love it because I can play the record throughout the whole house. The only thing that bothers me with this setup is that if I stream something to the speakers where the turntable is, and then try to play a record. I have to go to the Sonos app and change the input to line-in. I wish it would change automatically like it does on the playbar when you turn on the tv, but is does not. But I was checking out the Wrensilva console that Sonos is selling, and it has an input selector where you can manually change the input of the speaker between line-in and streaming as well as a volume knob. Is there a third party device that would give you this kind of functionality?... and while we're on the subject, is there a physical control that would allow you to group zones?
The scenario is you are working out to your favorite music at 6:00AM while the family is still asleep. You go to switch songs and SONOS presents you with the usual options, from a queue or other source. You hit play but nothing happens that you are aware of. No wait, you just started Highway to Hell in the Master Bedroom and yes in this case the title is very appropriate. When a zone or room drops off, can't the controller have the small amount of artificial intelligence to tell you that you are no longer controlling the same room?
What's the controller and how do I remove a music service from it?
I have an iPhone 7 and a Sonos system with a Play 1, Play 3, and a Connect. Streaming services (I mostly use TuneIn radio) work fine, but when I play content on my phone (from my iTunes library or podcasts), playback will skip from one track to the next before the first track has finished playing. Sometimes I seem able to address the problem if I turn my phone off and back on. I have been in contact with multiple tech support people from Sonos, who keep having me tweak my router to a different channel as if that will fix the problem (unlikely, since I live in a rural area with no other wifi routers around to conflict with), but it doesn't; and if I leave a message on their callback service, no one calls me back. I live in NZ, which has pretty much zero Sonos support. When I call the US number now, the wait times are so long that they will eat up all my international minutes. Has anyone in this community had a similar issue? I have more faith in the community than in getting a so
I have a PLAY1 in my university halls which has worked well, even being connected to the halls wireless network (StudentCom), but someone has just been trying to play their music on it at full volume. I assume they are trying to set their own one up but it's actually controlling mine. Is there any way to put some sort of passcode or pin number on my speaker? The last question I saw on this topic was over a year ago and wondered if anything has been done since then. Many thanks
As I have seen with some other posts the Sonos chime occasionally plays instead of the playlist music from my computer. It worked perfectly for maybe 6 months but then this has happened a few times in the past weeks. As I saw from another post (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/sonos-alarm-plays-chime-instead-of-pandora-6789800) the recommendation is to submit diagnostics so I have done that. The confirmation number of the submission is: 1968602670 Can someone take a look at that and let me know what's going on? The music playlist its attempting to play is music from the "Music Library" on one of my computers. Thanks.
I currently have 2 Connect:Amp's both running two different sets of Bose Freespace 51 outdoor speakers. I have an "issue" with the volume. On the controllers (both android and ipad), the volume slider only produces sound from about the half-way point and beyond. Anytime I slide the volume control down below the half way point, I lose all volume. It's as if I have a scale of 1 - 10 and I can only use 6 thru 10. It is not a sharp drop off it literally diminishes from the highest level and goes down incrementally to about 6 and then there is no sound. According to the documentation, the speakers are "Rated at 50 watts IEC continuous power handling. Compatible with amplifiers or receivers rated from 10 to 100 watts per channel RMS and 4 to 8 ohms." Do I need to get a separate pre-amp and use a Connect instead of a Connect:Amp?
CR100? One Voucher or One Per CR100?
I understand we will soon be able to use AirPlay2 to stream audio from a variety of iOS devices to the newer generation SONOS speakers, such as the SONOS 5, Playbar and SONOS One. If I'm correct, this will include the ability to stream the audio to those SONOS speakers from videos being viewed on these iOS devices. My question is whether you will also be able to simultaneously cast that video to an AirPlay2 enabled monitor with it being in sync with the audio. I know it would be a stretch, but if you could cast the video via some other device like ChromeCast and simultaneously use AirPlay to send the audio in sync to SONOS speakers, I would then say you are GODS! I guess I can pray it will become so! 🙂
