I have a PLAY1 in my university halls which has worked well, even being connected to the halls wireless network (StudentCom), but someone has just been trying to play their music on it at full volume. I assume they are trying to set their own one up but it's actually controlling mine. Is there any way to put some sort of passcode or pin number on my speaker? The last question I saw on this topic was over a year ago and wondered if anything has been done since then. Many thanks
As I have seen with some other posts the Sonos chime occasionally plays instead of the playlist music from my computer. It worked perfectly for maybe 6 months but then this has happened a few times in the past weeks. As I saw from another post (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/sonos-alarm-plays-chime-instead-of-pandora-6789800) the recommendation is to submit diagnostics so I have done that. The confirmation number of the submission is: 1968602670 Can someone take a look at that and let me know what's going on? The music playlist its attempting to play is music from the "Music Library" on one of my computers. Thanks.
I currently have 2 Connect:Amp's both running two different sets of Bose Freespace 51 outdoor speakers. I have an "issue" with the volume. On the controllers (both android and ipad), the volume slider only produces sound from about the half-way point and beyond. Anytime I slide the volume control down below the half way point, I lose all volume. It's as if I have a scale of 1 - 10 and I can only use 6 thru 10. It is not a sharp drop off it literally diminishes from the highest level and goes down incrementally to about 6 and then there is no sound. According to the documentation, the speakers are "Rated at 50 watts IEC continuous power handling. Compatible with amplifiers or receivers rated from 10 to 100 watts per channel RMS and 4 to 8 ohms." Do I need to get a separate pre-amp and use a Connect instead of a Connect:Amp?
CR100? One Voucher or One Per CR100?
I understand we will soon be able to use AirPlay2 to stream audio from a variety of iOS devices to the newer generation SONOS speakers, such as the SONOS 5, Playbar and SONOS One. If I'm correct, this will include the ability to stream the audio to those SONOS speakers from videos being viewed on these iOS devices. My question is whether you will also be able to simultaneously cast that video to an AirPlay2 enabled monitor with it being in sync with the audio. I know it would be a stretch, but if you could cast the video via some other device like ChromeCast and simultaneously use AirPlay to send the audio in sync to SONOS speakers, I would then say you are GODS! I guess I can pray it will become so! 🙂
I have a play one and Sonos one that has been working great. I just got a play3 and it’s says I need to update . I have tried several times and the update is not working. Tried resetting router, modem , controller and all the Sonos players still not working. I also tried to connect direct with the Ethernet cable and no luck.
iTunes Playlists - if in a folder in itunes, Sonos lists all the tracks within folder and not playlists for each album, e.g. a folder type structure. iTunes Playlists - Folder / Playlist issue - just shows list of tracks in Sonos and not playlists.
I was wondering if it is possible to export a playlist I have created. I have imported music from a CD and have a friend with Sonos who is not as familiar with how to do these kinds of things so I was wanting to send him the playlist
How do you remove a room from your system?
Hello , I've inhereted a Sonos system in the house I've moved into and I'm having a few problems, Mainly it plays in the bathroom and they sound great but it has speakers in the kitchen and I don't seem to get them to work.I'm running a sonos connect amp
Hey everyone, My iphone recently died. So I want to use my wife's iphone to connect with my Sonos Connect so we can play music from her phone. I tried everything and it's not working. Can you help?
I have 3 play1's and 1 sonos1 which controls my set up.... i am so excited about these!!! Great complex sound....crisp highs ,deep lows....i love them!!! I recently bought 2 play5's, looking for something to add to the overall experience and shake my house with a bit morw low-end power....i am sad to say that i am truly disappointed. The sound is very hollow, very unimpressive.... For the price of $500 US dollars each, i was expecting to be blown away, but instead, im feeling a bit ripped off... i think if there was a more complex EQ, instead of just treb and bass, the problem would be solved. I can tell the play5 is a beast of a speaker, she just needs a little help.... So i have 2 questions... 1. Am i using the speaker for something it wasnt built for? Is it not meant to be a stand alone? 2. ANY CHANCE OF GETTING A REAL EQ WITH A FEW MORE CHANNELS? Thank you
I love my sonos system. It's amazing. One thing that would really make my day would be a way to set the alarms remotely. I find myself often scheduling a meeting while in the office, and needing to set my morning alarm accordingly. However, as we all know the sonos app can only be used when at home. This is an issue for the alarms since if I don't set it right away, I often forget about it. Could we bring some kind of server/cloud access to the account? Even if it's very limited, I think we would all appreciate this addition
How can I play podcasts from an android phone. I have installed the apps that are supposed to work with Sonos (Pocket Casts and BeyondPod), but I can't get either to work. The Sonos instructions say that the podcasts have to be in the Podcast folder in the root directory. Is that the \storage\sdcard0\Podcasts directory? BeyondPod only lets you choose whether to save the podcasts on the internal or external cards. It does not let you select the directory. Pocket Casts lets you select the directory, but then it puts the podcasts files in a subdirectory of the one chosen. Trying both of these apps and multiple configurations, I still can't get the podcast to show up when I look on "this device".
Hello! I would like to see an schedule option for the Sonos controller. A development of the alarm function. I would love to be able to, for example, set my bathroom speaker to play between 7 AM-10 PM everyday or split it up to play between 7 AM-9AM and then start again between 4PM-10PM. I know some of it can be done with the alarm but thats not what I want. In my world its two difderent things. This should be an easy fix and falls perfectly in line with our new smart homes nowadays! And I can see this too be an much wanted function for both private and business who wants their speakers to play automatically on different times during the day! Best regards!
Hi all, As Sonos does not deem it necessary to support tag meta such as album year or lyrics in its own app, after many such feature requests (c'mon, how can you NOT support album year??), I was wondering if any 3rd party apps exist that can do the following: 1. Play songs from a library, stored on a NAS on my Sonos Connect 2. Show lyrics that are embedded in the ID metadata tags 3. Show album year, or at least have an option to sort albums by artist chronologically instead of alphabetically Reason for wanting this is that I have a library of 30000+ songs, most of which I painstakingly added lyrics to in their tags, and ALL of them have album year tag. I used to have a Squeezebox system, which did all of the things indicated (and many more), but it broke down after many years and I decided to switch to the Sonos Connect instead. Only I can no longer enjoy the fruits of my labor now 😞
How can I lock the speaker group in my Sonos app so I do not have keep grouping when I power the system on and open the app everytime?
Ever since the most recent update, the Sonos app keeps periodically bouncing around in my dock (I use OS 😵 to tell me that an updated is available. However, when I click through, it seems that this is not true: the only question I get asked is whether I'd like to integrate with Amazon Alexa (I would not). I presume there is a bug somewhere — has anyone else run into this? About Sonos says: Sonos Controller for Mac Version: 8.4 Build: 41350131
What's best to replace the CR100 ?
Hi all, I have purchased a sonos play:1and I'm missing the airplay feature. I have been searching and I found that sonos one will support airplay 2, but I couldn't find any information about airplay, does it currently support airplay or only will support airplay 2? I only have a sonos bridge and a sonos play:1 so I can't use airport express or apple TV.
I have a brand new playbar and after selecting it and adding it to a new room, I get to the "Updating" screen. At that point, it gets stuck on the "Getting started..." black dot. The light on the playbar is flashing orange and white. I have tried this a couple of times by using a factory reset. And I have the playbar connected to my router via ethernet. Any suggestions on what I should try?
have two systems in two different homes but want to put one under another account is there an easy way to change details without having to re setup etc
I have three alarms setup in Sonos. The first is at 7:00 a.m., then another at 11:00 a.m. and the last at 3:00 p.m. They are all configured identically except for the time to go off. Instead of the chime, they are configured to play a particular Pandora channel. The first alarm works perfectly and is consistent. The second and third alarms play the chime instead of the Pandora channel (even though they are configured to play Pandora). Anyone have a solution for this?
New user here (sorry!). I create a group of Living Room, Patio, and Bedroom. They will all play the same source. However, the volume is likely to get turned up/down in the Living Room, but I want the Patio and Bedroom to remain at the previous setting. So far, it seems that the grouped rooms are slaved to the primary room both for source and volume. I understand after I change one room's volume, I can THEN go change the slave rooms, but I simply want all rooms to be independent volume control. Can anyone help? thanks!
I have 500GB of music and use iTunes to manage the files. Free iTunes. My $2000 worthy of Sonos gear can’t recognize my larger playlist. There doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer as to how many songs Sonos can recognize in a playlist. It would be helpful if it didn’t have a limit but if it does, tell us clearly what that is so we can manage it.
