Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

My suggestion is that "Pause All" actually pauses everything straight away rather than popping up a dialog box which asks "Are you sure you want to pause the music in all rooms?". Yes, I'm absolutely sure I want to pause all and when I do I'm usually in a hurry and I don't want to move my eyes and finger to the dialog. It not like "Pause All" is anywhere near the normal pause button on any of the controller apps. Using a dialog box here is so early 90s UI/UX. Give users a little more credit. It not like it's a Delete All (you music) function which of course would need an 'Are you sure..?". At least make the display of the "Are you sure you want to pause the music in all rooms?" dialog a configuration option in case you're worried someone will actually miss it and drive everyone else in the household mad with all their accidental "Pause All"s. And while you at it, please consider adding 'Pause All' to the iPhone app's force touch shortcut menu. The really big ask/suggestion
I have thousands $$$ invested in Sonos over the last 10 years. Covers my entire house, every room including the deck. I wonder if anyone at Sonos actually uses the product. The UI is utter crap, thank goodness you dropped the horrendous white background. I mean, that was just low hanging fruit you created to begin with. 9 times out of 10, late nights on the deck, I can't make Sonos do what I want it to do. Your software wasn't always great, but it also wasn't always this bad. Get a clue.
The ability to set a sleep timer in the Sonos apps at the end of a chapter of an audio book would be much appreciated. Would this be something other members of this forum would find useful?
I would like to be able to manage my music library in one place. My music library is stored on my Synology NAS. I don't use music streaming services. I use bliss (https://www.blisshq.com/) to manage the library, essentially to add and optimise cover art and resolve any track naming issues. Bliss runs as a background service on the NAS, listening for new content and auto applying cover art and track naming rules automagically. When I add a new album my workflow is: 1. Rip CD to NAS 2. If I'm anxious to listen straight away, go into bliss and force a rescan 3. I go into the Sonos PC desktop controller and "Update Music Library Now" It would be fantastic if Sonos Controller would allow me to merge steps 2 and 3. 1. Rip CD to NAS 2. I go into the Sonos PC desktop controller and "Update Music Library Now" Sonos rescans the music library. If it finds new content it makes a call to a bliss API to apply its rules Music appears in Sonos Library with cover art applied
I would like to share an idea for a new Sonos function. >> direct (surround) receiver control. < In my living room I have a (surround) receiver where a my Sonos CONNECT is a music source for my receiver. To get Sonos music in my livingroom, I need to turn on the receiver and select the correct line input. And for controlling the volume I need to walk to the receiver and turn the Volume knob. My feature request is: Implement by TCP/IP - LAN control of my receiver. My receiver (Onkyo) and many others (brands) are controllable by LAN. So when I select the living room on my Sonos controller, the receiver automatic will turn on and select the right input source. And that volume control will directly control my Amp/receiver instead of the Connect. Setting this up should not be very difficult, in the advanced setting of the Sonos Connect zone, ad this selection. Could look like: Select brand, select type of receiver, select input source. Optional set max volume ( I have power
Currently it appears that the current song is displayed in the Main Controller under 'Information' but is not displayed in the Mini Controller at all. It would be great if this information could be seen there too. http://grab.by/SgcW http://grab.by/SgcY
Can anyone advise how to get the voucher re CR100 replacement - many thanks
Is the Sonos controller Windows app compatible with Windows 10?
I would like to see SONOS develop an APP for Samsung Family Hub Refrigerators. These refrigerators are populating more and more residence as their popularity continues to grow exponentially. Anyone who entertains knows the kitchen is a major part of any party as well as often being a primary location for persons to congregate. In addition, the host(s) will often spend considerable time in the kitchen either in food preparation or simply accessing more food and beverage to serve. As a regular host of parties, it would be nice if I was able to use the Samsung Family Hub as a control center for SONOS system during parties rather than having to access my phone, tablet or PC.
I agree with earlier comments regarding the complexity of the new app, why make it so complex, it used to be very easy to use, but please, please stop making the font size smaller and smaller, consider us users that require glasses, I used to be able to use the old app comfortable without searching for my glasses, but not anymore, everything is so small!
I understand when Apple (finally) releases the finished product, Airplay2 will only be initially supported by certain players, due to software limitations / capable processors. My question therefore, is will Airplay2 be an exclusive feature to the pre-named products (playbase, One and 5) upon launch only or will new Play:1s be manufactured with the capability after Airplay2 is available? I can’t work out whether this is an obvious answer i.e there will just be new products that support AirPlay2, for example Play:1 gen 2. Hope this makes sense.
SonosOne won't work. i have tried rebooting my router, and then Sonos. I checked on my app on my phone and it said update needed. when i try to update it fails with error 1101. I have seen others with this problem and all say to submit diagnostics. My conf # is 894856421. Help. I miss my music.
I wrote a small python script and GUI that should run for people in windows, if you're interested, send me a PM, I'll send you a link. It could use some people testing it. It requires python to be installed. Got tired of waiting for Sonos to improve their software. It will: 1) Limit volume per zone 2) Drop zone to a threshold after a "quiet hour" 3) Mutes the zone after "mute hour"
I have two Play:1 speakers in my business. One is in my gym, the other in a massage office. Sometimes my iPhone app defaults to turning on the music in the massage office instead of the gym, which is very NOT COOL (depending on the music that I'm playing). I don't really need to control the music in the massage room (the massage therapist does that) and I just want to get that speaker off the app, but there's no obvious way to do it. Any advice?
No way to roll back software updates?
i recently updated sonos app on iphone (running whatever software is before ios11). now sonos will recognize speakers (i have six sonos play:1s around my home) one day and not recognize them another. when playing music it will sporadically cut out for 8-10 seconds. system was working fine with none of these issues before app update! what am i supposed to do to fix? is it possible to re-download older app version?
is the desktop app able to play the selected music stream through the local pc/mac speakers?
Hi, The version 7.4 of Windows Controller freezes every now and then. If you guys get the Windows Error Reporting(WER), you might be seeing this across your customers. If you are not yet using WER, here's some info: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb513641(v=vs.85).aspx Observed the freezes on two devices, here's sample event log entries from the device I'm writing this with: The program Sonos.exe version 6.0.0.34230 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Here's your warning, Apple device users... this is an Apple requirement, not a Sonos one... starting in July, any app updates will require iOS 11. So if you have a device that isn't running it, the time to update to iOS 11 is coming soon. And if your device can't run iOS 11, be prepared to not be able to update to the latest version of the app starting in July. http://developer.apple.com/news/?id=05072018a&1525716802
On mobile controller apps, there's now a feature where, when you select stuff to play, you get a "Play to the following" prompt that asks you which zones you want the selection to play in. Useful if you're playing different songs in different rooms, really annoying if you tend to just use Sonos to play throughout the house. Thankfully, there's a setting - "Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Confirm location before playback" - that lets you toggle this behaviour on or off. So far, so good. I leave this setting off. And I just got hit with the popup, because the setting had turned itself on. Not for the first time (after the last two updates, I found the setting turning itself on if I left my Sonos almost a day without use, because "work"). This only seems to be an issue on iPad, not iPhone, and even deleting and re-installing the app hasn't fixed things. It's an annoyance, but it also makes me wonder what other settings could be resetting themselves. Is anyone else having issues wit
I am trying to add my Spotify account to the Sonos controller iOS app and there is no option to connect to Spotify. Any help please ?
Design a new piece of equipment that doesn't have lithium battery issues but functions like the CR100.
Fire tablet as controller running latest (like I have a choice!) version Sonos app. Ever since the EVIL update months back that took our beloved software away, I have had problems with the Now Playing screen staying UP and FRONT. Once I stop music, at some random point (who knows because I don't sit there and stare at it), the (nice and BLACK) Now Playing screen drops DOWN and reveals a lousy white "home" screen (not sure if that is what it is called). To start playback again, I have to arrow up to bring back the Now Playing screen. The Now Playing screen used to stay UP all the time unless I changed it. Now, it's always down when I need it. Is this by design or is there a setting to keep Now Playing UP?
I like the light background.
Has anyone figured out how to setup the McAfee firewall so that it is on and you can still connect to Sonos?
