Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I've updated my Crestron TSW-760 to the latest firmware (1.002.0016.001) and when I launch the native Sonos app, it wants to check for updates. On the attached screen, I tap "update" and nothing happens.
Beyond frustrated. Tired of calling support, them changing random things and assuring me that it will "work much better now." I can never just open Sonos and play music from my library. Not once. But the solution is never the same! Sometimes resetting the router works, sometimes restarting the software works. Every time I want to turn it on that means 30 minutes of troubleshooting, and half the time I can't fix it and give up. And then it will fix itself and randomly turn itself on 30 minutes later and scare the sh*t out of me (but the software still says it can't connect so all you can do is pull the plug on the speaker). Controller is a PC (sony vaio), connected to wi-fi and plugged into a hard line. Music I want to play is in my library. Have a Sonos Amp and a Play3. There are a couple other things on my wi-fi (2 android phones and an ipad). No major sources of wi-fi interference. Fast internet. Most common error is something like "Cannot clear the queue" or "cannot play song"
I've got a pair of Sonos One speakers, been using them in separate rooms but set as a group for about a year now. I'm moving them into 1 room and I want to make them a stereo pair. When I go into More > Settings, then tap Room Settings, nothing happens. The item is in the menu, but it won't go to the page. I checked my software version, both speakers and the android device are at 10.3, build 51166240. I've tried restarting my router and the speakers, but it hasn't helped.
I recently received a message that "On This Phone" is being eliminated. How will I be able to play songs from my playlists on my Iphone?
Dear Sonos Please pay me £3.99 for the SonoPad software I've just had to buy because you've made my 9.3.5 iPad useless with your own app!!!!!!!! Are you serious? You break your own app for users of older tech controllers!?!? Utter madness! I'm already not purchasing further Sonos until you make voice playback of local library possible through a voice assistant. Mind boggles. Used to be a great company. Going down whilst others are coming up 😞
Until this week, the Sonos app on my Android phone would show basic controls on the Android lock screen. Pause, FFWD, and details of what was playing. This was despite my Android lock screen being set to not show 'sensitive' alerts (things like email content, etc). With the latest controller updates this week, that's no longer the case - now the lock screen just shows "Sonos, Received 1 notification". My question is: not knowing the details of how things are classified as 'sensitive' or not, is there a setting I'm missing that would revert that back to how it was before? Other than just setting Android to 'show all notifications on lock screen', of course
Hi, My sonos app was not working. I re-entered spotify and installed the latest update on my iphone and it is still not working:
I replaced my MacBook Pro mechanical hard disk with a SSD drive. How do I re-installs the Sonos app? I'm running High Sierra. My iPhone and iPad app work fine but want to also run Sonos from my MacBook Pro. Any tips, tricks or traps I should know about? I did some searching and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance for the help.
I know this topic has been asked in the past and Sonos has not added the feature, but I will ask again. Can Sonos or is there another way to allow guests on your WiFi Network to ONLY be able to add music to the end of the queue? While I allow friends on my wireless network, I hate it when they try to add songs and do "play now" instead of add to the end of the queue. It would be nice to have the "owner" only allow guests to add to the end of the queue and/or have an approval before songs are added by none owners. Any thoughts? Mark
We have had SONOS since 2013 and now have 8 speakers. Initially we used iTunes as the music library software, but kept having speakers drop, skipping when music was playing (25-30 seconds), and other problems. An IT guy has been working with us sporadically for more than a year (!) to try to sort this out. He recommended Plex, but I dislike the inability to use multiple genres (or any genres if not on the PC), and the emphasis on videos, TV and streaming, none of which interests us. And creating playlists is possible only on the desktop, not on an iPad. More recently, he put us on a trial run of Roon, but it still drops the first 20 seconds or so of songs, and unilaterally decides to skip songs we've placed into the queue. And at $499, it just isn't all we are looking for. (Plus, how can one play "Name that Tune" when the first 20 seconds are MIA?) I also tried Bliss, but it doesn't work well in Android as music management software. We use Android phones and iPads in various locati

So I live on a military base and I use base wifi and I have trouble updating my play 1. I can't just go connect to a router and update that way I only have wireless with no router of any sort to access. How would I go about updating my play 1
Just struggled through a problem with the Sonos App for ios and android. It was intermittently freezing up for the customer. Usually you could cause the error by pressing the phones home key to put Sonos in the background. When it was accessed again it would be completely frozen. Tried a new iPhone with a basic install, and my own android phone from my home system. Turned out to be a Airport Time capsule with WiFi problems. Difficult to know what was wrong with the wifi and it was misleading because it usually would not freeze unless you pressed the home button or the unit went to the lock screen. Rebooting the router would allow it to work for about 20 mins then the problem would re-occur. Narrowed it down by bringing my own cell phone with the Sonos App and connected to their network and even my phone which I knew worked fine on my home system would freeze. Talked to Sonos about it and although a complete lack of Wifi will cause the app to display the Turn on Wifi message, a probl
is there going to be option to play music direct from android devices rather than have an external source?
Is it possible to add songs to Apple Music playlists from the Sonos controller?
Does anyone know if there is a way to use a tablet or phone as a Sonos controller only. i like the idea of using my old IPad just to control the Sonos without the faff of having to load up the app etc ? I know you can lock it into Sonos mode but this just goes back to the standard I pad menu once you unlock to shutdown .
I had a professional service install my Sonos system since they had to run power cables inside a wall. I am trying to "balance" the Play 1's for surround/Eq. I open the app, go to "more, settings, room settings. Nothing happens.Nothing happens when I select Add a speaker or sub. Is it possible for these settings to be locked out? Thanks.
Does it really need to suck this bad ?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm a Sonos dealer. I love Sonos. BUT : 1. Shuffle in any playlist (larger than 20-30 tracks) is terrible !! Sonos 'repeats' tracks WAAAAYYYY too soon (should be not at all, regardless of playlist size !) !!! 2. Sonos gets to tell me, that my music library is too big !?!?!?!?????? (On-screen message : "Sonos does not have enough space to update your music library. Please eliminate unused ques and playlists". Blah, blah, blah). I don't think so !! Unacceptable !! It's the 21st century, and this is easy code to fix. I can maybe see this needing to be this way, on hand-held devices, but on the 'desk-top' controller, no way. I am trying to use a CR100 that I've not used for a long time. When I try to connect it to my system, it recognises when I press the two buttons on the nearest player, I goes the the Connecting. Please wait. This can take a few minutes Then This controller was unable to connect to a Sonos component. Please try again (1). I'm wondering if it's an issue with the software being out of date. My other CR100 which has been in use all along works fine. This one's been in the attic for a while. Grateful for any ideas! Thanks Patrick
I've used Sonos for several years now and have Pandora as my primary source of music throughout the system. If I'm on a Pandora station, lets say "Donald Fagen", like all of the Pandora stations, it scrambles his songs and others in that same genre. I can use the thumbs up-thumbs down to somewhat control what I want to here. Can I save specific songs that I hear to a playlist or queue somehow?
Is there any way to switch back to listening to the tv after listening to music without your phone? If someone asks Alexa to play music, then wants to watch tv, you have to go find your phone to switch it back to TV. Doesn’t seem smart.
I went into the app yesterday and made some changes to the sub and eq settings. I gave it a little too much bass, so I went in today to change the settings again, and the "Room Settings" menu has totally disappeared. I tried on my ipad, iphone and windows app, and it's the same across the board. Any idea what happened?
Hi I have followed all the support instructions to load my library, unplugged speakers, checked filename etc. but nothing is resolving the error. Diagnostic ref 971952208. Any suggestions please?
I want to broadcast to all zones that tea is ready.
Could Sonos let us know where they are on allowing some form of playlist editing? Following the merger between Napster & Rhapsody (or vice versa) I have playlists filled with "track unavailable" debris items (eg 365 tracks on a 2500+ playlist). Because there is no way of sorting them (eg on a PC Controller), even when I note that a track is not available, there is no way for me to sort the playlist eg alphabetically or search the list to nail and boot out the offending item (or even better, allowing me real time to see something similar that is available and do a swap). The lack of any editing playlist capability is, in my view, the Sonos systems weakest (and perhaps only) failing. I note previous comments on backup files: I was not aware of this "new" weakness and it would be a disaster if I lost my playlists (even the ones with Napster debris). Come on Sonos: it cant be that hard to have some playlist editing and playlist backup?
