I have sonos controller 10.5.1 on android but in the app system updates keeps saying the app needs updating but there isn't a update in play store anybody else having same problem
We recently bought two Sonos One SLs to use in our lobby. However, I just realized they have AirPlay turned on. How do we disable it or password protect it? We don’t have the ability to access our network settings or add another network just for the speakers. Right now, anyone who is on the same network can play their own music. We can’t have that!
I started using a Sonos speaker as an alarm. Fine, but I would like the radio to play only in my bedroom when the alarm starts. So that’s how I have set the alarm. My day now starts with this speaker ungrouped because that’s what the alarm does. Then when I am up and about, I like to play the same radio downstairs too. So now I have to create a group every morning and set volumes for each speaker (4 speaker system). If I don’t, I can hear the radio out of sync in different rooms. Like most people who spend all this money on Sonos, it is to have the benefit of a multi-room system - I like to be able to walk around the house and hear the radio in sync throughout. It is so cumbersome and frustrating. My experience with Sonos is that I have some amazing hardware with software that seems to stand in the way of how I want to live.Solutions that would be terrific are:I have tried IFTTT automation but it doesn’t control grouping (yet?) why does Sonos need groups? Surely it would be easy
I have been using the SONOS BEAM consistently for 2 weeks now. I love it, but as a live sound engineer and sound geek, am wondering why there are not more customizable EQ parameters for the BEAM. I have used the TRUEPLAY TUNING twice over and it did not correct the lack of vocal tones I was hoping for (suffering around 1K - 3.15K in my opinion + compared to Play; 3 lacks in the 400 - 900 range but I acknowledge BEAM is designed with video audio in mind). I have used every variation of the SONOS App's Dialogue boost, night setting, Loudness enhancer, compression - All great features, but even Spotify has a 4-band EQ while the SONOS app seems to only provide a 2-band; BASS, TREBEL. As a live sound engineer I work with 32-band graphic EQs, which I don't expect to see on an app, but would love to see a happy medium from a high end sound company that I do really like for music in the home or on the road. I love the low end, the spread and music is seems to tackle (Spotify w/ eq sett
I’m trying to set up my daughters Kindle Fire HD to play spotify via our sonos speakers. It recognises that there are speakers to connect to but won’t connect. It just stays ‘Connecting...’ It is trying to connect as if I’m playing via through the sonos speaker from my iphone it stops that device playing on sonos but the kindle fire never connects. Very frustrating and don’t know what to do. Any advice?
Hi Folks, I’m considering buying a pixel slate, which runs Chrome OS and has the ability to run Android apps. Reading through older post about running on Chromebooks (which also use Chrome OS) it seems like the controller may or may not run on chrome OS. Can anyone give me the latest on if the Sonos controller andrioid app runs on Chrome OS? I’m particuallry interested to hear from you if you actually own a pixel slate and know if it works, tho if you have other insight from using Chrome OS on other devices I’d love to hear from you too! Many thanks in advance! ~Drew
I would like to see a feature in the sonos app that allows to more easily temporarily play different audio within a room without having to remove speakers from the room and then re-add them as their own room to start and then when finished, re-pair them. For example: I have the standard home theater setup: Playbar, Sub, 2x Sonos One. However, sometimes when using the TV I do not care about the audio so much as the video (i.e. YouTube video or Twitch stream). I would like to un-pair the rear surround speakers (2x Sonos Ones) and play music as if they were their own stereo pair instead while the TV plays through the sound bar and sub. But then be able to easily transition into the full surround setup if I wanted to. There are a few ways to accomplish this but the best way, in my opinion, would be something to the effect of: When clicking the group button and activating a room, the source audio will play on all speakers by default when a room is checked. But if desired, I can drill d
I would like an option to switch the SUB on/off in the app at Room level. Now I have to go throught all the menus in the app to manage the room. This takes an annoying long way in the userinterface. In my setup I use a Playbar with SUB. For normal television use I don't want the SUB to play. When I watch movies or listen music I switch it on. If there is a button in the rooms page to do this at top level makes my day! How about others?
Hi there, I types my username and password into the sonos app on my tenants device so he could control bass and treble. But he has moved my volume limits to 100%. How do I unclog him out of the sonos app so he cant gwr to those settings. Thanks.
Did they update the Spotify interface within the Sonos app? Seems like when you click on Spotify it has a new look. Am not able to search “Genres and Moods” anymore either? Anyone else experiencing or notice this issue? I liked the old interface much better!
On here partly to vent my frustration, but also to ask for advice. I’m running iOS 10.3.3 (the last Apple update available to my older generation iPad, which incidentally meets all of my needs), but after updating to Sonos 10.5 I couldn’t understand why certain controller options (e.g. Add a Service/Rescan local Music directory) were greyed out. Searching this site, I believe that Sonos have just disabled these functions for my operating system version. Why was this important change not communicated? e.g. an email/ in the release notes (it just says performance improvements/bug fixes), or a pop-up? If I’d known, I could have decided not to update rather they have my system crippled. I’ve been trying to work out how to add Apple Music, to which I’ve just subscribed. I have a Windows 10 PC, so downloaded the Windows controller. Yes, I could select add a service, but the system said ‘sorry Apple Music can only be added on iOS or Android devices’. (Drat!). Ok - so my neighbour has an
I use every morning m/f the alarm clock feature with my Sonos system, which works pretty well. However every time I leave home for a few days for my business trips I ALWAYS forget to shut it off so that it won’t play around the house while I’m not there. Sonos team should add a feature to allow, perhaps through logging in into the account, to shut off the alarm even if you are not logged in on the same WiFi network of the Sonos system, so now I could shut it off even while I am away from home!:S
Hello,Every time I receive a notification that there is a new Sonos app update available, I download the update and then it fails. I use a Mac and always have to uninstall Sonos, then reinstall from the website. It’s not a big deal, but wondering if there is a fix for this? Thanks!
The lack of sensitivity of the low level volume control makes adjusting the volume at low level very difficult/impossible. We like to have music playing softly in the background at times. It is difficult to adjust the volume to a easy listening soft level. Often it is either off or too loud. I tried various methods on all the devices I own to adjust the volume and nothing gives adequate level of control. Searching here on the community for "low volume control" indicates that there are many people complaining about this problem. Why won't Sonos change the response curve of volume controls to give more granularity at lower end of curve to allow all of the Sonos customers that want to enjoy the music at a low level the ability to easily set the volume at a desired level. All of you out there that have this same request please put in a Feature Request to Sonos to "Change response curve of volume controls to give more granularity at lower end of curve" lets see if we
Just wondering if anyone else feels this may be of use. I'd love there to be faster direct access to the EQ settings via the currently playing song menu. I'm often adjusting bass etc to suit varying sound qualities of different tracks. It seems a little long winded as it is.

I want “My library” (or whatever it’s called in the English version) in the Spotify tab to be on top since I’m not interested in Spotify’s advice. Since some update Spotify have added a multitude of categories and placed “My library” at the bottom. This is annoying, especially on the iPhone where I have to scroll a lot to reach the bottom. Is there anything to do about this? To put “My Library” on top?
As of 10/28/2019 version 10.5 of the app requires Android 7.0 or later. We purchased a PLAY:5 planning to use our Android 6.0 phones to set it up. Is the 10.4 version still available? Otherwise a new phone ($$) or we own a boat anchor. We plan to use it exclusively as an internet radio.Any helpful info will be appreciated.
Sonos on my iPhone no longer lists “songs on this phone” as an option. How can I listen to my iTunes library on my sonos?
I’ve just received an offer to get a discount off the purchase of a Boost to replace my Bridge, claiming better performance. (Before end of year offer)I’m not aware of any issues with my Sonos system. Is the Bridge going to remain in support or is it being dropped/obsoleted in the near term?If not then I see not need to spend funds for no apparent gain. Perhaps a Sonos Support Employee can advise on this, please?
I have a Sonos Connect device that's connected vie digital connection to my home hifi Dac's. I want to enjoy the highest available Hi-Res streaming Audio available , In Tidal , there is a HIFI stream account and Premium account. the HIFI is about $26 a month that 2.5 more expensive then the premium billed. Is the Sonos Connect device can accept / deliver the 1411Kbps that in the HIFI expensive account ? I want to choose the right Tidal account but its depend on the Sonos Connect capabilities. Thanks
I asked this Apple / Trueplay question a year ago and went with a borrowed phone, now have a few more Sonos and wanted to get my own Apple whatever but the Sonos support page is pretty much no help.---------https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3222?language=en_USSupported mobile devicesTrueplay tuning is available on all fully-supported iOS or iPadOS devices that can run the Sonos app,----------Trying a chat session was equally frustrating with the same answer. Not having owned an Apple anything since my Apple II how do I figure out what devices are fully supported? Knowing which will soon be unsupported so I don’t have to buy another soon would be good too.
In a separate, and disparate thread, it was brought to light from a Community Manager that Sonos arbitrarily eliminated the ability to crossfade music playing through Spotify Connect. This seems to have occurred in version 10.4. There are many of us hoping that, unless there is a security measure associated with this, that it returns in future versions. Thank you.
Is there any plan to introduce a Chrome extension to control Sonos?
Trying to connect a Cambridge audio CD player to Sonos- using a coaxial digital output via digital to analog adaptor and from there to the rca inputs on the Sonos connect. My app shows line in disconnected greyed out - I can see CD player below as a source but can't activate as the line in is the issue- suggestions?? Have powered off- doesn't change.
