The Sonos app of my Sonos Move does not allow me to play or listen to something I want, from a favorite web site ? Is there a solution or I have to send it back ?
So where is this Sonos Radio that I have been reading about this morning from all the major outlets? Let me have it!!
Hi, I have a Sonos One set up on a standard Comcast XFinity wifi connection. I am unable to see the Sonos One as an option via AirPlay. Sonos One was purchased fall of 2019 new from Best Buy. I have a 2013 and a 2017 MacBook Pro, both of which I would like to use to connect to Sonos One via Airplay. The software on all devices is up to date (Sonos firmware, Sonos software and operating system software). My first thought was that my devices weren’t compatible but I just bought the Sonos One and it’s listed as a compatible devices on your site. When I go into the Music app and click the AirPlay icon only my computer shows up. Many thanks!!
Everytime I open the sonos app on my iphone, it asks me to turn on bluetooth. I don’t use bluetooth and won’t turn it on, how do I turn off this prompt when I open the app? The app works through wireless not bluetooth.
With the new Sonos radio source, can anyone note the quality of the streams? Granted much of this is source dependent (the radio stations that encode their streams), but was wondering if, in relative terms to TuneIn, this would be better quality? Or is the intention that it’s just better integrated than TuneIn and more stable streams? Otherwise, the curation alone is a tough way to distinguish from other services.
A little over a week ago, I started a thread to engage with like minded people here: those that felt the way I did, as explained in my opening post there. That thread was titled: “The Sonos Brexit and pragmatic ways past it” and I intended that to be the last thread I open on this site. A link to that thread: https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/the-sonos-brexit-and-pragmatic-ways-past-it-6836056 That thread has grown beyond expectations. While everyone on it has contributed to keep it profanity free and largely rant free, with an occasional nudge by @Edward R in that effort, just by virtue of its length, it has become unwieldy as all long threads become. And it has many days to run, because the Sonos Brexit event, and the release of detailed information about it by Sonos, are both at least three months away. I therefore thought that it made sense to break my promise to myself - No More Threads - and make just this one exception to it, by opening this thread. It i
I would like to stop using the Sonos app completely with a SONOS 1 that I own. Is it possible for me to overwrite the firmware and use the device with other software to stream audio? I'm thinking of some sort of service running on a separate device that the SONOS can pick up, similar to bluetooth streaming.
So from last night to tonight I open my app to change the music in my bedroom...I go to ROOMS and I see the below screen shot...I click on bedroom and it gives me an option of “Let’s do this” or later...so I pick later but it takes me to the same screen shot below and I cannot access my music. I don’t want to upgrade...I’m happy where my system is...I use it for sound in my house coming from my music collection and nothing more...no alexa, no google, no pandora, nothing but a wireless speaker system..now sonos is forcing me to upgrade and I have no idea if after my upgrade my system will work or not since some of my equipment is 15 years or so. I shouldn’t have to be forced to upgrade. What the hell gives?
I have version 11.0 installed for macOS. It forces me to update it in order to use it. When I give it to look for update it tells me "Updating the driver and then failed to update the driver." Thank you
For years i have enjoyed access to radio all over the world and yet recently I am advised that my access is restricted and I now need to log onto Radio Denon.com to access the radio stations. On so doing, I am requested to pay a fee. Anybody know why this is the case?
Sonos only offers one radio service in the UK, it is called Tune In. Tens of thousands of UK Sonos customers access the Tune In radio service daily via Alexa. BBC has now terminated Tune In/Alexa access to their services. Tune In/Sonos app selection of BBC radio stations is ok, but less convenient than Alexa voice control. Tune In/Alexa on Amazon Echo still works, but we invested in Sonos to enjoy the sound quality. Surely lack of a solution will quickly and directly impact UK Sonos sales? There are several active user threads discussing the issue but no real solutions. What is Sonos doing to restore access to BBC radio services in UK via Alexa?
The speakers are amazing! The app and the website are not. They are full of glitches, drops, and oh they start playing music BY THEMSELF. Yes, it was night. Everyone was asleep and the speakers started blasting music. I shut down every electronic in the house AND THEY STILL PLAYED. When one of the devices finally turned on, I went into the app, it took a while but it suddenly realized it was playing from my amazon account. I don’t have anything set up for voice commands so I know that wasn’t it, plus WE WERE SLEEPING NO ONE WAS USING THEIR DEVICES AND WE HADN’T USED SONOS IN A FEW DAYS. I love the sound quality of these speakers, but I don’t like the app. I highly doubt that the speakers themselves are at fault. Even this website is horrible. As I’m trying to write this it keeps coming up with related topics, but won’t go away and won’t let me select anything. It took me a while before I could get it to work just to post this. If you’re wondering: Sonos one Gen2 (x3) macOS Catalina
Hi Guys, How would somebody join the Sonos S2 beta? Am already signed up and agreed to the beta program. Cheers G
Why hasn’t Sonos figured out how to turn alarm feature off when outside home, geo fence, ect. Pretty disappointing considering the alarm feature is so great at getting everyone up. But pretty sad because Sonos cost so much from the start. You’d think that when you create that option you’d have the foresight to what to turn it off.
There seems to be a limitation of the number of tracks possible in the Queue. I am using Spotify. I am unable to add my large playlist. I did get it to work selecting all but a few tracks in my playlist and then clicked add to end of playlist. It added 6000+ tracks but took an hour to add them. I can not save the queue not. Says its out of memory. Does anyone know? What are the playlist limitations?
Hiya all, I have a CR200 that I have not used in ages but with the coming May2020 S1/S2 split date, I am keen to get my CR200 reconnected to my system so I have this legacy gem in a working state before it’s too late. My system software version is v11 and the controller will not connect. I have seen all of old history on here where downgrades are required etc before upgrading with the CR200 connected. My questions to the community are as follows; I would like to know the latest sonos software version known to work with the CR200. (assuming the CR200 was connected long ago). So please fellow Sonos users, if you could reply with a simple “mine is running today on system software xxx” it would be greatly appreciated so I can work out what version I will cap out at when I get my beloved controller connected. Cheers for your contribution and please stay sae in the COVID era. Dean
How to stream from PC/Windows 10 to Sonos?
Is there an easy way to click a checkbox and “Play Local” on the PC via the Windows Sonos App, so that I can play through the PC speakers with synchronized playback on my Sonos devices? The only way I have seen to do something similar is via either: Purchasing Sonos “Port” product - hardware rube goldberg contraption, costs money, introduces lag. Or, With a software workaround like “Stream What You Hear”” - software rube goldberg, free, loss of sound quality, introduces lag, can’t use Sonos app for source selection There are a bunch of benefits of being able to do this directly within the Sonos app rather than via workarounds, and it feels like a really simple thing. Possible?
Is there a way for someone to connect to my Sonos system while visiting my house, so they can use their own Spotify accounts (or Pandora, or song files, etc.) to play the songs they choose (i.e. without having to use my devices)?
Hi everyone, I've been searching online for days about this and I have yet to find any instructions. How do you add multiple Spotify accounts to your Sonos system? (Android) Every time I go to add a new account it gives me an error message of “Spotify account is already set up on your Sonos. No need to install it again.” Im not trying to setup a new service, I want to add multiple accounts. Sonos completely miss out this step on their online FAQ section which says: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3624?language=en Adding additional accounts Adding another music service account follows the same process outlined in our Add a music service to Sonos article. (Not relevant as I dont want to add another service. There is a hyperlink in this sentence which takes you to another page with instructions to add another service. When i try do this anyway, it gives me the error message above I described) If one or more accounts have already been added for a music service, you'll see eac
Hi, Is it possible to use my Sonos One and stream what I’m playing on my MaBook Pro using Algoriddim Djay Pro2? In preferences I can’t seem to find the option.
Can i use the sonos trade in offer to get new product and still use that legacy product the connect amp in my garage or will it no longer work. Thanks
So let’s say you want to play all songs of a particular artist without the pain of creating a playlist? In iTunes you simply search Apple Music for the artist and click on the red play button and boom - all songs play. You can also simply tell HomePod play X artist and again, it just plays some of their music. However, when you go into Sonos App and search for artist and then play, you get a playlist of like artists and songs no matter which music service you select (Apple Music, Amazon, Pandora, or Spotify). Or worse, you have to select one album at a time to listen. Is there an alternate way of doing this?
Does Sonos App support Apple Smart Playlist?
Hi is there a way to stream audio that is playing on my MAC, Ipad or Android device to Sonos - if Sonos doesn’t support the music services (EG: Soundcloud private links or Instagram Live) there is not easy way to play it through your Sonos system - seems like a much needed product feature.
