Controllers and Music services

Hi, Outside of 16-bit FLAC support for Sonos ARC and Deezer 360, is there any support from Deezer or other services to playback using Atmos / 360 degree format on Sonos ARC? Trying to get the most out of the Hi-Fi services and ARC. Thanks.

Hi, I have 1 play5 using s1 android app and 2 play2 using sonos s2 app. Since this morning, i am not able to use both system. When i launched s1 it says that can t connect to sonos...i did reset it but same issue. After some time i am able to launch it but it last 30 seconds then problem arise...also if i am usingthe s2 app it stop working.  I did also try to unplug the 2 play 1 but s1 and play 5 not working anymore… I also see same behavior with s2 and the 2nplay1 i am not able to use it anymore… Any idea what i should do ?

I add this because it seems a common thing to want to do, but it took me ages to work out how to do it, and no amount of searching turned up any answer. I wanted to add a network drive source to my Favorites.I have a USB drive mounted on my modem-router. I’ve copied my MP3 library to it.  I then added this to my Sonos library using the Windows Sonos client and Manage > Music Library Settings > Music Library >  Add.  The USB source I specified as \\192.168.1.254\usb1\MyMusic  (where usb1 is the name of my USB drive, and MyMusic the folder on it).The trick to adding this as a source in your Sonos Favorites is to click Music (top-right of the window), then Music Library, then Folders. Then use the pull-down menu on the source you just added, and select Add to Favorites.You can now browse the music using the Music > Sonos Favorites route.Some keywords to help this show up in searches: NAS, network drive

With the new announcement of Sonos Radio HD, just checking in on people’s thoughts. Did you sign up for the trial? Will you keep it? How does it compare to others like Amazon, Tidal and Qobuzz? Is it in addition to? How to improve? Share please. Thanks in advance. 

There seems to be some confusion out there with the need to move from S1 to S2 for Hifi streaming.I have 2 AMPs and 1 Connect that are older and can’t be upgraded to S2.  I am using Amazon’s HD family plan and Radio Paradise’s new FLAC streaming services.  ( Previously I used Deezer Hifi and Tidal as well) Is there any audio advantage to move to S2 (thus new equipment) to stream these service’s in FLAC/Lossless?  It seems like S2 only helps with streaming HD music that is local?  Thanks for any feedback!

Hello With the new sonos legacy mode that stops certain Sonos devices from being bricked, is the CR100 going to be added to this list? It was permanently bricked in April 2018 and not much has happened since. Can you PLEASE add this device to the supported devices for legacy mode?

I’m surprised there isn’t support for m4b.  Seems like something that could be implemented.  Disappointed that it’s not as now I have to use a different app for my audiobooks.  So much for being able to control the system through one app.

In my SONOS favorites I have a bunch of streaming radio stations from 7 or 8 years ago. I can’t find a way to directly add streaming URLs anymore. Do I have to use Tunein radio or is there some other way to do this?

I have Sonos 1,3 and 5 setup in my house and I use the new Sonos app.I have over 200gb of my own music, most are in .Flac files. How do others access their own music collection? I've tried copying onto a microsd card , inserting that into my mobile device, clicking on This Mobile Device option , didn't work. I could go down the NAS or my cloud mobile route but this is expensive. Currently have the data on my laptop and on an external 1tb HDD drive. How can I access via my mobile device and play through my Sonos speakers? It's a pain firing up my laptop each time I want to listen to something from my collection.Thanks for any help

Hi, I have a complicated Sonos setup involving a Playbar, a Beam, two Play 1s, a Play 3 and a Symfonisk lamp, all in different rooms of the house. The Playbar and Beam are at opposite ends of the house wired by ethernet cable into an ethernet switch that go to the same router at the front of the house (we only have one router, though do have a WiFi booster at the back of the house kicking out a different SSID). I’ll paste the system details below. But basically I want to be able to delete the Wifi settings from the Sonos controller so that it forces all the Sonos devices to use Sonosnet - I’m having problems with the Play 1 which is in the bedroom (the WM=1 device below). More than 50% of the times I try to do anything with it I get an error message - either ‘cannot connect’ or the ‘cannot add to queue’ messages. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be using Sonosnet (the wired Beam is in the room directly below) so I think there must be a conflict somewhere.The Play 3 in the kitchen is

I’ve owned few Sonos speakers for a while now but I have never done Trueplay since there are no IOS devices in the household. I’m in the market for a new tablet and was wondering whether Trueplay results with the iPad 7th gen are good or not? I’ve read that some people have found the tuning to be worse with newer iPhones than some of the older models. I really want to find out how my system sounds with Trueplay since the normal EQ is very simplistic. Trueplay for current gen iPads and iPhones might be months away, right? The older model would suit my needs just fine and they are cheaper but if the tuning is not good then I might not bother with an older model. Any experiences?

My Sonos music library is my iMac music library (mostly my own CDs I've ripped and music I've purchased and downloaded from iTunes store).  When I add artists or albums to my iMac music library, my Sonos library updates next time I click ‘Update Music Library’.  So far so good.But why can't it do the reverse? When I delete artists from my Imac music library they don't delete from my Sonos music library. How is this even possible? and how can I persuade my Sonos system to delete the tracks and artists I’ve already deleted from my iMac? 

Is there any way to use or add AccuRadio as a Sonos alarm, for example? My Sonos alarm choices only show a few station choices and no way that I can see to add my own preferred stations. Thanks

It’ll be great to have -/+ volume control within the Sonos app.By that I mean a minus (-) and a plus (+) next to or around the volume slider. I know the hardware buttons on my device can offer this, though, for accessibility something within the Sonos app software will also be useful.  

I currently have a SONOS Connect and 2 SONOS ONES that I run on my SONOS  S1 APP (along with an old wired system).   Can I add a SONOS Move to the  SONOS S1 APP?

I sometimes receive the message ‘Unable to browse music’ . I sometimes receive the message ‘Unable to add tracks to queue’. In each case I have no idea why this would be. With some albums, tracks, folders it works, with others it doesn’t. there is no obvious reason. It is frustrating but, more importantly, for SONOS, has discouraged my friends from investing and discouraged me from buying any more SONOS products Is there any way to contact SONOS, share my desktop and try to work it out?

Hi,I’d like to manage albums from different sources (local NAS, Spotify, other streaming services) in one library. Like the Sonos Music Library function, but with the ability to add albums from streaming services. Sonos Favorites don’t do the job for me because it is just a flat list, and I’d like to be able to browse by different criterias (albums, artists, composers, genres, ...).Does anyone know a good solution for that?Regards, Robert

I just updated to the “new” Sonos app and updated my speakers.  However I noticed that whenever I do a search now it doesn’t show the music files on my device.  Is that expected?  The old app used to search both my Music Library and my device’s music files.  Did Sonos really take away the ability to play files off your device?  If so that seems like something that should have been clearly identified before asking Users to upgrade.

Hi Everyone,I have an CR200 controller that worked perfectly until I recently split my system into an S1 and S2. I needed to split it because I bought a gen 3 sub and wanted to continue to use the CR200 and a Gen1 Play 5. After the split the controller, which is obviously on the S1 system, does everything it should except allow me to search for music. It will allow me to access the playlists, recommendations etc on each music service but not search them. I use Amazon Music and Tidal. I can not search on either music service. I have tried resetting the controller. Would anyone kindly be able to offer any suggestions on how I could fix this? Thank you

A few years ago, I bought two PLAY5 (GEN1) speakers along with a Playbar, a SUB and three PLAY3 speakers. I have since added a Sonos Beam to my collection.Having now found out that my PLAY5 speakers are not compatible with the latest Sonos Apps and my only option to using the latest Sonos Apps (on my PC and phone) is to replace the PLAY 5 speakers, albeit with a 30% discount, I am not thrilled that having invested in Sonos most expensive speakers a few years ago and committing to develop my Sonos collection, my PLAY5 speakers are now essentially obsolete.I decided that for now, I am not going to take up the costly option of buying 2 new PLAY5 speakers (even with the 30% discount) because:There is nothing to say I won’t find myself in the same position a few years down the line. Absolutely loving the exclusive Sonos radio stations. Sunset Fuzz, cocktail hour and rare grooves providing some excellent tunes to accompany lockdown vibes.    what I’d love is to get the track listing to be able to make a playlist from it and listen to it again at my own leisure. I have signed up for Amazon HD music, I read the SONOS article saying What is Amazon Music on Sonos?There are four tiers of access to Amazon Music on Sonos:Amazon Music Unlimited Amazon Music HD Prime Music Amazon Music LibraryOk..  sounds good - but when you add Amazon Music and select from the services it only shows Amazon Music. There is no distinction specifying the different services.Does the stream revert to what I have purchased “HD” automatically?Thanks

My sonos speakers disappeared for the S2 app.At no stage in restarting the speakers did it ever say that I was going to lose my playlist and this is absolutely unacceptable. In my research just now I see that this is an ongoing issue since 2013. It is unacceptable that this isn't published and that I can't get my playlists back. In fact there is also no way of backing up playlist on Android. This is a big viability gap in your products and it seems you just choose not to address it. It seems as this issue is 5 years old that rather than  look after the substantial investment your clients making your systems you choose to ignore it. For what purpose ?. Don't get me wrong I love the Sonos sound system and it's quality and can recommended on that basis -  however this issue of continually losing playlists and favourites is a show stopper.The viability of your product is in question for me and many others. The product is not sold with the understanding the playlist , favourites cannot be s
