I have a Play1 and a Play5 up until today they worked ok on S1 my wife used it today and it appears to have updated the Play1 to S2 now the system is incompatible can I downgrade to Play1 back to S1

No, there is not apparently a way to downgrade to S1.

Did NOT work for me last week (on a One), and I like to think I know what I am doing.
