Is it possible to listen to Apple Music with a set of Port and 2 One’s only?
Have just spent many thousands of dollars on a full home SONOS setup? Many said it was simpler and easier… however is it better ? Multiple ARCs , AMPs , Subs and 8 pairs of high end 8 inch speakers. I have kept my previous full multi-room, multi-source home audio solution. The best thing i did was not to throw it out.Have managed to setup the two side by side throughout the house, the sound quality of the SONOS when trying to drive the new speakers is noticeably poorer compared to the previous 10 year old solution i was looking to replace/upgrade.So the question begs with a software driven solution. When will you be upgrading and improving? This is after all one of the main advantaged of been software and app driven. Should I continue to invest in the product suite…. your call !
Hello, I have a new single story ranch home that I want to equip with in ceiling Sonos speakers. Looking for some guidance on 6” or 8” and what is the optimal number of speakers + placement in order to cover the living room, kitchen area, sunroom, and all 3 bedrooms. For the living room I already have Sonos Arc, sub, and 2 One SLs (might need to move these to another room for lack of where to place cleanly without cables showing).I appreciate all suggestions!
I heard it is possible but I just do not know how even with googling. Can someone please help me how I can connect a Sonos Port to Crown XTI 4002 Amplifier? The amplifier only has Speakon connections and XLR connections and connections for banana plugs.
Hi, I have 5 Sonos components in my house. Four of them are first generation and the other one is second generation. I used to have all of them grouped in order to listen music in all my house. That worked perfectly for many years, but from two months ago, the components are ungrouping and, of course, that immediately stops music reproduction. Has someone here experienced something similar? Is there a solution?
Does SONOS have in-ceiling speakers that connect wirelessly and can be paired? Would be easier than trying to run cable from the ceiling location back to an amp over 40’ away. This would need a local AC supply to keep it charged in the ceiling, but I can’t seem to find a product like this on the website.
I have a Sonus sound bar linked to the Arc on the TV.I have now got a Sonus Amp which needs adding to the system and the amp is going power the rear surround speakers.A few questions. What is the best way to wire the sound bar and the Amp? TV only has 1 x ArC connection? (I can get HDMI to both the sound bar and the Amp.)Once the above is confirmed is it a case of configuring the system on the Amp?Regards,Tony

I have a few Connect Amps. I would like the flexibility to use them simply as Connect modules. Has any done a mod to take line out connects from the unit? TIA
Hi - I noticed a small chat on this topic, however I’m not sure what the outcome / solution was? Has anyone successfully connected the EVERSOLO DMP A8 Music Streamer / DAC / Pre-Amp to a SONOS AMP either via HDMI or other outputs from the DMP A8 to the Sonos AMP? Please help…I can’t be the only one wondering about this? Thanks.
Hello: I’m trying to understand if connecting a pre-amp powered turntable to a port will enable me to play vinyl across my current system. Entertainment roomArc Amp (aux disabled) 2 pair Sonance in ceiling speakers connected to Amp as surrounds. 1st gen sub3 other RoomsSonos Play:1i had to disable my Amp’s aux port for surround to my ceiling speakers, and am curious if hooking a turntable up to a port and connecting that to my system will deliver sounds across this system and other rooms. sorry if this has been answered.
Hello! I need Sonos suggestions for the following requirements.Music for my living room that opens into a patio and pool. So, i need to play music in my living room only sometimes, sometimes only outdoors in the patio and sometimes both. There’s not TVs involved. So, ideally in the living room i need an amp and speakers. it’s a large space and i wouldn’t mind ceiling speaker solutions. is a soundbar a good idea with a sub and satellite ceiling speakers? is there a limit to how many speakers i can add? For the patio i need weatherproof speakers for sure. will the same amp be able to power all the speakers?Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hey there! I’ve been doing some and decided on getting Sonos Outdoor speakers + Sonos amps for my backyard because I love Sonos and i’ve read that these speakers w/ Trueplay sound great. What’s been very challenging is trying to figure out how many speakers I need to get based on my backyard space. Here’s what I’m thinking so far: Amp #13 speakers in the BBQ area 3 speakers in the covered patio area. Amp #23 speakers on left side of the pool 3 speakers on right side of pool Does this seem appropriate for the space? Also wondering I’m wondering if it’s best to set these up as left/right channels or mono?
First off, I’m a professional sound engineer for live and recorded music, but I have ZERO experience with home stuff, so I apologize if I get terminology wrong.I inherited a lot of A/V stuff in this house when we bought it back in 2020. Most of it has been useless as I can’t login to it, but I did manage to get into the Sonos Connect upstairs which was connected to a Sonance DSP2-150 MkII power amp and that appears to drive the Sonarray 8.1 speakers out by the pool.I think 4 of the 8 speakers are Left, 4 are right, and the sub appears to be wired mono, though there are only LR outputs from the power amp, so it’s not clear exactly how the sub is connected - but I don’t think it’s super relevant to my issue.Half of the small speakers have always been out - actually just really, really quiet by comparison. Recently the power amp failed, so I grabbed an old studio power amp out of my closet and plugged it in…To my surprise, *regardless of input side* (I tried both) whichever output drives
Recently I have purchased Sonos Sub (Gen 3) and my Sonos App can't connect with a Bluetooth on the initial stage adding a new device in App. Give me to know how can I manage this error?
Hi I currently have a zone player which connects my record player, but it's only for the S1 app. Do I need a connect gen2 (far cheaper than the port) to replace the zone player on the s2 app? Thanks
My Sonos was professionally installed 13 years ago. I have a bridge and a connect:amp. The connect is wired to two outdoor rock speakers. It looks like either my bridge died or the power supply did. I have the bridge connected to my wireless router but there are no lights indicating a connection. What’s my best alternative to get this up and running without spending much? Thanks!!
Has anyone had any issues with Sonance VP66 TL (thinline) speakers on AMP running at higher volumes. Distortion, popping/cracking sounds. We’ve isolated the speakers (and Sonance provided a new set), wiring and AMP, and all seem to function fine independently, but in combination, the problem persists.Sonance and Sonos both are saying products should work fine together. I have other rooms running AMP with other sonance speakers (same family, just not thinline) with no issues
Moving from USA to India with my Sonos Arc, Gen3 and Era 100. India has 220v power compared to 110v in USA. All of these devices specification says 100-240v. Does that mean that the US device will work just fine in India without a step down converter? Anyone in the community who has done that?
Hello! There is a new Sonos Port in our office. The Sonos Port is located in the server cabinet, connected via an ethernet wire to the nearest switch. The network is new and the Internet is about 200 Mbps. There is only one subnet. There are no conflicts on the network. The network engineer confirmed it. I noticed a problem connecting to the Sonos Port with the new S2 version (updated). The updated Sonos Port (with S2) is not detected on the network. I tried to connect from my smartphone (Sonos S2 App), and also tried to find it from my computer (with Sonos S2). A long search for the device, eventually not to be found. Then I made a rollback (Downgrade) to the S1 version. After the rollback, the Sonos Port began to be detected normally on the network. In the previous version, an update message is intrusively coming out. Dear developers, please check this situation, it is necessary to fix the bug and optimize the new version of S2 for Port. Thank you!P.S. Please move the topic to Audio C
Please tell me why I can’t disable sound delay on the Sonos Port line input? Minimal settings is 0.75 sec. Why you cant add a zero settings? In some cases this is absolutely necessary. When I bought your product, I didn’t know that I couldn’t remove the sound delay. Moderator edit: changed output to input
I bought into Sonos, and am starting to regret it. It is slow on my phone, cuts out, and is always updating but not better. So, …. Sonos where are you going? Is this going to be worth the pain in the end? I can get speakers anywhere. Can you tell me why I should keep your stuff? You keep offering free shipping. Shipping really isn’t relevant - that tells me you’ve lost your way. I’ve spent over $1,000. Keep the shipping, make the app work. This isn’t a pair of socks.
I have my turntable connected to a Sonos Port via the RCA input. I’d also like to hook up a CD player to the Port, is this possible and what would I need? Is there an adapter that would do this? Thanks in advance!
I want to add a new device to my existing system, so I downloaded the S2 app to the new device and chose Add to existing system. Then the app tells me to press a button on a device, but what happens when I do that? Will the app connect to my existing system and find ALL my connected speakersor just the one on which I pressed the button? And will pressing the button on that speaker remove it from my other devices app?
