The Sonos app has been getting worse and worse in terms of connecting to my systems. A lot of the time only some of them appear, if I reboot my phone and the sometimes the systems they reappear. Now it cant connect and keeps telling me my network has changed or that I need to reboot my router and reconnect my systems. They are connected to the network fine and can stream music, just I cannot talk to them using the app. Anyone had a solution from Sonos to fix this, the app used to work so well now the whole system is bordering on useless.
himy sonos MOVE disappeared from my system so i followed all solutions on website to add missing product. it was recognized and all was well until the next day and the same issue arose. when i followed solutions again, it now says it is not registered and when i try to finish adding move to system the error message says contact customer care.added to this, the microphone is now not working so i cannot ask ALexa to play etc..when i press the MIC nothing happens.any ideas?thanks

Diagnostic: 1552642786 Move has worked perfectly since purchase. However, it has recently just dropped off the app and can’t get it to work. Have reset the speaker and also the router and it appeared for a while, then it goes again. If I manually turn the speaker off it reappears within the app saying offline…Please can someone take a look at this as it is really frustrating.ThanksDaniel
Hi, I recently changed my router. The router supports both 2.4 and 5.0. When I try to reset my Sonos to the new router, I get to the point that speaker does the chime noise, but then the speaker says that my speaker is not up to date and then forcefully exits the reconnection wizard. How do I either update the speaker, or ultimately reconnect my speaker to the router? My fear is that the Sonos is bricked and requires it be updated before changing the network. Please tell me at least that's not true! Extra information:I have one play 3, and two play 1. I have BT infinity, home hub 2.
Just set up my Roam. Works great with Airplay 2 from my Apple devices. No problem selecting the Roam speaker to play from the Airplay2 icon. However, the Home app cannot find the Roam. I just get a never ending spinning icon. (I have iOS 14.4.2 on my phone, which is the latest version as of today).I tried powering on/off the Roam, then went full nuclear are reset it. I’m not sure what the next step would be...or maybe I missed a step in the setup.
Hi everyone, bought a new beam yesterday and followed the instructions on how to connect, however i keep getting a message firstly- we can’t find Sonos on my network,i press ‘yes’,then goes to-do you want to add ‘yes’then-make sure all your products are powered on ‘find system’we couldn’t find a sonos on this account ‘done’.So things I have done- put the app on another phone- no success, have put an erthnet-no success- rebooted-again no success-moved the unit closer to my router-no success. In my wifi settings I do have the sonos sending a signal out and I have been back to the shop who confirmed it is working.any thoughts or advice would be helpful.Phil
I’ve got the s2 app and have struggled with connectivity. Every time I open the app it won’t connect to the speakers. I’ve now tried changing channels on my router and resetting everything from scratch so router, both play 3’s and play 1’s as I have two of each. I now cannot get the speaker to connect at all. The app sees them, asks me to go through the motions of setting them up which seems very slow now. Then at the end says it’s done everything but says the speakers cannot be seen in the app and to switch them off and back on to complete the process. When I do that nothing happens and I go back to the beginning. Absolutely desperate for help as I’ve tried calling Sonos only to keep being told they are closed even though I’m calling during their advertised office hours.
Using the S2 app on my iphone XS it says unable to connect to Sonos. If I switch my phone off then back on it will connect but if I then quit the app, restart it and try to connect I have the unable to connect message again. Any suggestions?
RE: Roam - automatic / seamless change between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi while continuing to play music with my doing nothing / taking no action.Yes, Roam is paired with my iPhone’s Bluetooth.***I don’t understand the automatic switching feature ... I still don’t have the following answers to my questions for the Roam:1. I am playing a song on Wi-Fi at home using my Spotify via. the Sonos App. If I leave my home in the car, will the song continue to play without my doing nothing / talking no action as Roam will automatically connect to Bluetooth to continue playing the music?3. Just set up the Roam yesterday, and there are ‘jumps’ during playback from the television audio. Any solution for this?
Hi,I’ve had my Sonos system set up in my current house for a few years, 3 Play 1s, a One and a connect amp. Recently the Sonos app seems to lose connection with the system and all of the devices (except the one - assuming this is to do with the air play functionality) disappear. This does not happen all of the time but I would say recently 75% of the time I open the app, the speakers aren’t there. I haven’t changed anything in regard to my wifi or router recently. I’ve followed the fixes and resetting the router seems to make the app find the speakers again but the fix doesn’t last. Usually the next day they are missing again. I don’t want to have to reset my router every day! There is no issue with the speakers themselves or the WiFi. While the speakers are missing from the Sonos app they are visible and working through the Alexa app. Any ideas on how I can fix this would be most welcome. Thanks
I’m in the process of upgradng from a Sonos Connect to a Port. Before I do so I’m trying to test the connectivity between the Connect and my amp, to see if the amp is up to the job. I’ve gone and purchased what I’m told is a coax digital cable (a Digitech WV7304 from Jaycar), and connected it to the “coax” output on the Connect but just can’t make it work. I was previously using the “optical” output port and that was working fine. (So all I’ve done is replace the optical cable with what I’m told is a digital coax cable; my thinking being that if I can make the new cable work with the Connect then I should be fine to go ahead and purchase the Port.)So my question is, what exactly is a digital coax cable, and does this differ from a modern rca/rca cable? Have I gone an purchased the wrong cable, or do I have some other (hidden) problem??Thanks.
I have a Sonos one and recently when I play BBC Sounds or Spotify on my iPhone 12 pro (ios 14.4.2) and try to stream via airplay to the Sonos is get a message saying it can not connect. When I go into the Sonos app it’s says “unable to connect..)I’ve tried all the standard fixes … switching off and on. Switching the router off and on and resetting the Sonos. Any ideas?
I seem to be having trouble with mu Sonos amp in that the sound quality is aweful. I have tried numerous speaker setups including Tannoy floor standing speakers, kef wall mounted speakers and most recently harmen kardon speakers, all setups with and without subwoofer. I have also hooked up the speakers to other amps and finding a huge increase in quality using different amps. The sound from the sonos amp always seems to sound underwattery, thats the best way I cam describe it but its missing clarity in Bass and Mid. This is particularly noticable when I have started using it for my TV audio, and the result is it is very hard to understand speech. Can anyone help/advise? All the sonos ones, and sonos move in the house sound great so im at a loss with the amp, especially when using high quality speakers. Thanks, Lewis
Hi,is anyone else getting an access denied when trying to listen to any music application. At first it was only doing it to Sonos radio and now Apple Music and Pandora are giving me the same error. I verify verify the app is updated and so is my system. Someone else suggested to reauthorize the music apps and it worked.
Hi all I have an existing Sonos system and the S2 app installed on my iPhone. For various reasons, I have reset the app on my iPhone, deleted it, reinstalled it and tried to reconnect to my existing system. The whole process seems to have gone fine, and I now have my S2 app reconnected to the existing Sonos system. The odd thing is that on completing the reconnection, I got the message, “This feature is not available in store mode”. No further messages or issues. Is this just a bug, or is there an underlying issue for me to look at?Thanks
Every so often, my Sonos is unable to connect to bluetooth on any device it was previously paired with. I’ve tried to forget the connection to the Sonos Move and re-pair, but when I hold the button on the back to enter pairing mode, it turns blinking blue without the chime noise and I’m unable to recognize it through any device. All other aspects of the device seem to be working properly except this one. The solution before has been to factory reset, but I would prefer to not reset my device every few months for this reason.
I had problems connecting the Sonos app on MacOS to my Sonos system. Whatever I tried the “Not connected” message appeared. I’ve tried all tips in both the error dialog and the forum as well. Even a very long telephone support session didn’t help and can’t solve the issue. This closed topic gave me the right direction to search for. It seems the kernel extension “cpfw” has configured routing in a way that filtered out the UPnP responses to the SSDP requests sent by the Sonos app to discover the speakers. The solution was to uninstall it by invoking sudo "/Library/Application Support/Checkpoint/Endpoint Security/uninstall"Fortunately I do not need this VPN at the moment.
So I was having a nightmare with the sonos app after adding Roam. Literally zero speakers showing up - no playbar, Play 1’s or Roam. Did all the usual - unplugged/replugged in speakers, switched router off and on, etc. Nothing worked. However, noticed my wife was having no issues - exact same model of phone and version of the app. this led me to my own device so I went into the setting and did a reset on the network settings, rejoined the WiFi network and now everything is as it should be. thought it useful to share as its good when these rabbit holes actually have a simple fix!
I bought a Sonos Port specifically to go with a new Denon DP-300F turntable so I could play vinyl through my Play 1 speakers. I’m taking advantage of the turntable’s built in pre-amp. The sound is total garbage; tinny, weak and staticky. I’ve changed the pre-amp setting on the turntable just to be sure I have it in the right position. The other setting produces no sound at all through the Sonos system. The speakers sound great playing music streaming services. It is just the Port with the turntable that sounds terrible. Any suggestions to improve this?
I have since day 1 issue when playing flac Hifi music (Tidal, Deezer, flac files on my phone).I have 2x sonos five, 2x sonos one.The issue is EXTREME unsync music and rooms drops every single times when i select new music or if i forward and backward the musicI tried tons and tons of things that do not solve the issue at all.The only solution i found is to plug every sonos speakers on ethernet cable OR use MAXIMUM 2 speakers AT same time. If i play with more than 2 speakers, the issue come back again without ETHERNET cables. These are the things that i tried yet.-Try with SONOS Boost device enabled.-Try with sonos boost and 1 wired speakers.-Try with sonos boost and 2 wired speakers.-Try without sonos boost with 2 wired speakers.-Try to move sonos boost closer to my room, and farther.-Try to move speakers anothers places.-Try to change the router for a brand new one, with satellite lastest 6TH generation.-Change IP adress.-Tried all available routers channels into sonos app.-Tried all
