I've purchased a Sonos Connect with the intention of using it to pipe music from my old stereo amplifier to my relatively new Sonos system which is part of my TV system and not connected in any way at all to my old stereo music system. I have discarded my old wired speakers. My simple question is :- do I simply run the analogue stereo wires from my amplfiier directly to Sonos Connect or am I missing something obvious or fatal? Please keep your answer in simple language. I don't want to blow up my Sonos Connect with too great an input.

Can anyone recommend a preamp that would let me hook up CD player and a phono turntable to the single CONNECT LineIn? I've used a receiver for this in the past but am looking to create a setup where all of the speakers are SONOS wireless and so I'm looking for something small and lightweight that does not have an amp for external speakers. And yes I know I could rip everything to digital NAS storage. Not interested.

Via Connect linein my reciever is connectet to two play:1. Can I control the volume with the reciever?

I'm moving from a dedicated PC to a NAS for holding my files. I've seen that historically folks like the WD My Book models for a stand alone NAS. Is that still the case? Is there a reason to prefer ethernet over USB? And I gather that I need to make sure the NAS still supports SMBv1. This NAS will exist only for SONOS and not act as a file server in other capacities. Any tips on make/model appreciated.

Hi there, renovating the dining room. It has an Acoustimass 5 in it (the 2 dual cubes & a sub) all hard wired into the walls with wall plates and neat. There is a CA in there linked into an old Kenwood hifi. It's time for the Kenwood to move to the garage for workshop music. All other rooms I've put B&W CCM663's and 616's with Sonos Subs in which are the business but I'm wandering if we can live with these legacy speakers? Anyone done this and been happy? Is it a good solution? Or am I just looking to avoid cutting more holes and re-plastering? Interested in any opinions and experiences. Many thanks in advance

Hello, i did just purchase a Sonos Connect Amp. I did connect it to my Wharfedale Diamond 9.2 Speakers they have 6ohm and 100w power handling. Everything works fine till i set the volume higher than about 65% then the amp mutes and is orange / white blinking. After i restart it, all works fine again untili set the volume up. The room is quite cold now and there is a lot of space around the amp so temperate is not the problem. The speakers are also connected to my Harman Kardon AVR 135 but when i use the Sonos, the Harman is turned off. Could that be a problem or what is the issue here? Many thanks

Greetings, Just a week into testing Sonos speakers. Do have a few quick questions on the Connect & Connect Amp: 1. Connect does not work with Sonos Sub right? Any announced upgrades in the future to do so? 2. ConnectAmp DOES work with Sonos Sub? And one can set the high pass/low pass between 50hz and 110hz for the speakers/Sonos Sub? 3. If #2 is correct, does it allow TruePlay adjustment? 4. How is the quality of the Connect Amp in terms of audio quality? I do have relatively efficient speakers at 95db. Thanks!

Hi, moving house and celebrating by bumping up our stereo system. We plan on adding a turntable than using a new sonos system to distribute the output (and enjoy our music all over the house). I understand that a turntable must have a preamp to use the line in on a connect. Struggling to find if the turntables we are looking at meet the bill. So if someone could suggest a good turntable that will connect to a sonos i would be grateful. Our budget would be up to £500.

Would be a great idea that Sonos system be available within cars. We spend so much time on commutes, it would be a great option to extend our home Sonos there. Any plans to partner with BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, etc...?

New Connect out of sync with other SONOS speakers

Hi. We use the Sono Connect in our warehouses and it's amazing. Turn the music off to have a chat or the volume down or up to get everyone moving. Recently you added alarms to your app and it's great except you didn't add seconds to the alarm duration. We would like this so that we can run a short 5 second or so alarm when it's break or lunch or the end of the day. Can you hear the yabba dabba dooo now!:?

Looking to install 2 pairs of in ceiling speakers and 2 pairs of external speakers. There is no requirement for these to ever play separate music but would like the ability to pick any pair or combination of pairs up to all 4 pairs to be played in sync. Don't see the point in installing 4 C:A or even 2 C:A. I'm thinking of pairing a Connect with a 3rd party Amp able to drive all these speakers. Looking for recommendations on a suitable Amp for this purpose. Other connection ideas also welcomed Thanks

I would like to stream my existing CD player & Turntable to a PLAY 1 via a CONNECT unit. The components have standard connections to a receiver. What is the proper connection from the CONNECT to the receiver? There is a TAPE (rec) and a TAPE (play) available. (The components play fine when individually connected to the CONNECT.

I'm looking for advice to see if the sonos connect amp is the right choice for me. I am trying to add a second zone to my 7.1 home theater. If I add the sonos connect amplifier as a second zone from my home theater, then connect 2 speakers to the outside of the house, I should be able to listen to what is playing on the home theater outside; correct? This should be a one way only from theater to sonos connected speakers? If so, I can add a wireless speaker to that new sonos 2nd zone amp and choose which of the speakers to activate to listen to?

I've had my tv connected via phono leads to my Connect and into my stereo since I bought my Sonos set-up three years ago. It's worked perfectly fine for watching tv, movies, YouTube, etc but now there is about a 2 second lag between the picture and the sound which makes this method completely unwatchable! What has caused this and why? And what can be done to rectify it.

Hi people, I'm new to the community and own a play 1 and 5. They are of the newer type that do not need a bridge and set up was fairly straight forward for a non techie.I was thinking of buying a second hand connect from ebay, but wanted it to be as simple as the 1 and 5 simple to install! Which models should I be looking at that onstall/ connect over wifi? Am i correct in thinking that some of the older ones will need a bridge or ethernet connection? First time post and a bit of a techno dummy even though I like my gadgets. I have a Sonos system in my home which was set up by others and its worked well for 7 years with CONNECT AMPS in 7 rooms with ceiling speakers and a ZP90 CONNECT. I just had to replace the CONNECT so that set me back a few hundred pound but now one of my CONNECT AMPS is dead. Its in the 3rd bedroom and connected to the ceiling speakers but is very rarely used so I don't really want to spend £450 on a new one is there something else (cheaper) I can connect to the system / speakers in that room? Can anyone assist?

i was reading you no longer need a sonos wireless bridge with the sonos equipment... so i guess i can remove my bridge now. i have crazy fast inter net speeds, about 115 Mbps.. i also have crazy fast gaming wireless router. basically we can stream, game and what not on several computers no problem.. we got way more power than i think we actually need so i dont think the bridge is doing any good if its not actually needed any more. At the time i bought my connect you had to have the bridge to use the sonos connect with wireless ( no wired hook up on the room so i need it on wife). Now i am reading a update made so you don't need the bridge anymore..... one less link in the chain seems like tit would be the best option and i know my wifi network can handle it no problem.. is there any reason i should continue to use the old wireless bridge.... its the old one, not the new boost bridge

Hello to all. I recently purchased a Sonos boost even if I still don't have any other Sonos speaker in my house. I'm going to purchase a playbar anyway in a few days, but I prefer to purchase the Boost in advance sinsce it was 50% off in my nearby store. All the setup should be set correctly, but I have a question: Is the boost supposed to create a separate wifi network that I should see in my network list (i.e. "Sonos wifi" or something similar)? I make this question since I cannot see any other additional network in my wifi list, but trough the Sonos controller app, all the settings seems to be OK. Maybe, in order to see the new Sonos network, I have to pair also at least one sonos speaker? Thanks in advance

I updated the system software today and since then my zp90 just has a continuous flashing white light. The other items connected to the system still work. I have tried factory reset and no joy. Please can you assist.

I use Sonos connect Amps to supply music to wired speakers everywhere in my home except the basement. I have a home stereo / theatre in the basement that I’d like to play Sonos through occasionally. Can this be accomplished using Chrome Cast audio instead of a Sonos connect? The amp for the basement stereo is a Pioneer Elite VSX-60.

Right, I've done a bit of searching around but haven't managed to find any answers yet. Basically, I'm using 2 play 1's as a stereo pair of PC speakers. I've got my output of the pc into a connect and then onto the speakers. I also have Google Home which I was hoping to have connected to my sonos system as well. Is it possible to run an optical input to the connect AND a Chromecast audio at the same time? Or will the connect only take 1 input at a time?

I have a Sonos Control in two locations and driving two A/V Stereo systems in my home. I would like to voice control them and adding a Sonos One. By adding a Sonos One i get a speaker in my kitchen. The question is can i group the music between the "Sonos one" and the two "Sonos Control" so they are all in sync? will there be any delay in playback as the kitchen is close to the family room where one of the AV systems is?

Anybody know the output voltage on the analog jacks of a connect in low and high volume settings? Having problems with my Crown amp (xls1002) output. The volume level is too low to non existent at lower volume settings. Crowne says output need to be min 1.4v and +4 dbu.
