I have 2 Sonos speakers in separate rooms. After I’ve gone through the set up process for the new speaker, I can still only seem to connect to and control the original speaker. What am I doing wrong? I would like to be able to play different music on each speaker but right now, my be Sonos plays nothing.

When I play music directly to my Sonos speakers (using the Sonos app), I experience no drops. When I play using airplay 2 (to my sonos soundbar, which is then grouped in the Sonos app with my Play 1's), I experience no drops on music output from the playbar but intermittent (1-5 second long drops every minute) drops on some of my play 1's. Is music played using AirPlay 2 more sensitive to wireless interference?

Hello all, I am planning to buy SONOS play bar and Yamaha Receiver from costco (links below) 1. Can i connect SONOS to my receiver and 55 inch T.V, Blue ray player and DVR to my receiver so that sound comes only from SONOS irrespective of whether its playing from DVR or Blu ray and so forth. Hi, Isn't is possible to use the Bluetooth remote from the Samsung TV to adjust the volume on the Playbar. Connected via optical on the TV's 'One Connect'. I can use the remote for all but not the Sonos? I've tried the Settings and Remote Control Settings. The brand Sonos isn't mentioned on the list. The TV's software is up to date. I saw on an other topic to connect a Samsung IR transmitter that is delivered with the TV, but with this TV it's not. Is there a way to adjust the sub (bass) settings that is quicker than the current multi step process: Settings Rooms settings Select room Advanced audio Sub settings Adjust sub level Yes you can save 2 of those steps by Selecting adjust EQ but it's still deep in the menu. You see the problem is most songs were recorded with a wide range of bass mid and high. For my listening taste I tend to adjust bass more than the other two and when I switch to TV listening 9 out of ten times I need to reduce the bass if I was previously listening to music So you see the seven step process for bass adjument is a bit cumbersome, for me. A bass or audio adjust button that is not buried so deep would be a real nice feature. I have a suggestion. Why not offer a customized button/menu option. Hi Sonos, I just sold of my $3000 passive speakers + amp only to invest in a pair of Play 5s and I'm truly impressed with the sound quality. I'm blown away. I've listened to Sonos before but since the audio quality was beyond bad I never invested. The Play 5 gen 2 however sets a new standard in your products. Now, I noticed that one of the tweeters turned off when I paired my speakers. Is this because the left and right tweeters are hardcoded to be left/right with the amps or is it because it improves the stereo image. I just wanted to make sure it's not a fault. I have reviewed numerous posts on this subject, but have yet to find a definite answer. I've spoken to Niles and Sonos and neither can say if it will. I currently have several Sonos Components. I have Definitive Technology AW6500s on my patio and Definitive Technology DI8Rs in the kitchen. Both pairs are powered by separate Connect Amps, and sound great. I have a pair of Niles RS6SI rock speakers on another Connect Amp. The Niles rocks sound great, but seem power starved at louder levels. I have these by my pool connected with 100-125' of 12Awg. I have been offered a pair of Niles RS8SI rock speakers, and I know these will require more power. So, to do this I just ordered a Sonos Connect and a Niles SI-2150 amplifier. With the Sonos Connect connected to the Niles amp with RCA, will the Sonos Connect activate the Niles amp's audio sensing? I've read a few posts saying it will, and some saying it won't. I'm trying to put my Sonos network in its own VLAN (security and better multicast control), however, I've noticed periodically I'm getting blocked high port number connections back to by devices running the controller software. My firewall rules are configured to allow established and related connections, but for some reason these connections aren't being considered as related. Does anyone have any idea what they are? It doesn't seem to be affecting the network at all dropping them. I was at a Sonos Training event today and was told if I connected multiple Sonos Connect Amps located in a closet or rack to an unmanaged switch via Ethernet cable I was fine as long as I didn't daisy chain the cat5 cable from Connect Amp to Connect Amp but connected a single cable 5 cable from each connect amp to the switch. The sonos trainer said daisy chaining would cause a loop and broadcast storms. Then an hour later I sat through another vendor training that warned if you connected two connect amps to a switch with single cat5 each they would cause a network loop because they would still communicate through the wireless mesh cause network loop creating broadcast storms. I also forgot to ask what if I had 4 Sonos Connect amps connected via single cat5 each to unmanaged switch, 1 boost connect to switch, 2 playbars connected via cat5, 2 paired Play1 connected wirelessly, and 1 Sub paired with Playbar connected to network by Cat5 cable to switch. Have I created a problem?

Hi there, I'm new to Sonos and have recently installed 4 devices (2 x connects and 2 x Ones). I've had the occasional blip in playback so have run the network matrix which I've attached. My wifi signal is very strong in all areas - I've got hardwired repeaters in my roof directly above all the Sonos devices. I havent hard wired any of the Sonos devices to the network yet as this would involve taking a cable down from ceiling. What I'm interested in understanding: - should I start with hard wiring a Sonos device or is it better to go with a Boost? - if you go with a Boost does that mean that Sonos then only works via the Boost? If so then I'd probably need multiple Boosts. Any advice appreciate. thanks.

I have my computer hooked up through HDMI into the TV. The TV is hooked up to my Sonos system through digital audio optical output from my playbar (also have 2 play 1s). Computer settings are set to send sound through HDMI. The TV settings are set to play through the External Speaker (sonos); however my computer sends sound only through the TV's internal speakers. All my other devices (Chromecast, Roku) play audio through the Sonos system which are both through HDMI. For some reason, my computer will not do the same. Any advice is appreciated. I then refreshed the status page, and saw that this player's entries in the Network Matrix view were still blank (but the player itself was listed as before). Hi everyone, I am building a new house and I have 4 zones, I will pass wires to a central location. Kitchen + tv area, dining room, basement room and pool area. I already have most of the speakers 2xB&W 603, 4xB&W 601 and I will need to buy the pool outside speakers. I want to use sonos but buying 4 connect amps will cost 2100 Euros. I don’t really want to have independent music in every zone my major concern is to play the same music in all zones like a party mode if I want to. All equipment will go in a dedicated room in the basement. I was thinking of buying two Yamaha avr or two Denon avrs with 2 zone functionality like a Denon x2400h that can be fully controllable with the app and add two sonos connect on both avrs. This way I have 4 zones. One zone or two zones out of 4 have the possibility two play 5.1.,the two sonos provide two different zones that I can play different music or play the same music in all zones and I can also play in the 4 zones different music, two zones

Can’t seem to get the Sonos Connect hooked up properly to the Marantz AV Surround Receiver. Using red and white cables audio out from Connect to Audio In on Marantz. I’ve tried the CD, DVD, inputs but I cant get it to work. Marantz has the Cable box, Apple TV connected to it along with surround sound speakers for family room and Zone two driving 4 outdoor speakers all non Sonos speakers. Sonos speakers are in three bedrooms. Need some help please!

One for the techies.... I'm just going through all the mac addresses on my Sonos kit to fix IP addresses on the router and noticed that the mac addresses reported in the network matrix are one digit different to the actual mac address of the kit. So, if I go to http://192.168.0.5:1400/support/review I get, for example Garage (RINCON_000E58XXXX0201400) This is the correct address for the zone, and it shows as an attached device with this 02 mac address in my router diags. But on the network matrix, the mac address is shown as: 00:0E:58:XX:XX:03 It's the same for all my zones - the last pair of each mac address in the matrix is one digit higher. I'm running a mix of hardwired and Sonosnet. I'm not having any issues incidentally, just curious. Cheers

I have a Netgear GS724Tv4 STP-capable switch as my root switch at home. I have STP enabled on that switch., Some of my Sonos players are wired to ports on that switch directly. I also have some Netgear GS605 and GS608 switches which have Sonos players wired to them and then one of the ports on each of those switches is wired to the GS724 root switch. I do not believe that the GS605 and GS608 switches support STP but they do seem to support BPDU flooding. I think that this type of setup is OK since the BPDU packets will move around the network and not get blocked at the GS6-series switches, and will wind up at the GS724 root switch and be distributed properly to the Sonos players. In practice I am seeing a very quiet network, with the exception of the LEDs on the GS6-series switches flashing at a very high rate all the time. My network matrix is all grey cells with just a few green squares where I expect them to be to the few players that are on SonosNet (I don't have my house WiFi conf

Please help, does anyone have the correct settings required for using wired sonos components on a Netgear GS724T V3 smart managed switch. I have recently extended my Sonos system which now includes 4no. Connect Amps, 1no. Connect, 1no. Play3, 1no. Play1, Playbar & Sub. I have the ability to "hard wire" all the Sonos equipment to the switch via my home network which works ok for 1/2 an hour or so and then it crashes the network. Having read up on the forum i have found various article referring to "spanning tree protocol" but nothing that relates exactly to my Netgear Switch. I can revert to the wireless setup with one sonos component connected to the switch acting as the bridge but would prefer to utilise the wiring available in my home network.

I have an upcoming party with a couple of DJ's. We intend to use a Pioneer DDJ system with RCA output. The DDJ does not have optical out. I plan to connect the Pioneer DDJ to my LG TV (via AV/RCA cables) then group the playbar with the rest of the speakers in a single zone. Are there any issues with this? Am I correct in thinking there will be a 70ms delay between the playbar and the rest of the speakers? If this is the case perhaps the issue will be tollerable based on different physical rooms being out of sync, or alternatively I could simply turn down the play bar and turn everything else up.. I have 15 other SONOS speakers. Any thoughts would be appreciated

I have a number of Sonos amps around the house, with two being connected to different switch ports. My network kept slowing down, dropping out, then coming back on again after a few moments. Basically, my whole network was virtually unusable, and this went on for months. Eventually I traced the issue to the Sonos system on my network. When I unplugged a whole floor in my house from the switch, I miraculously could still see the servers on that floor, be it with an incredibly slow response. WOW. I traced this to the Sonos systems being connected wirelessly and passing my normal network traffic between them. This created 2 separate paths to many devices on my network: 1 via the hard wired switch ports, and 2 via the wireless connection on the Sonos. Who would have thought that Sonos acts as a wireless bridge for my standard network traffic. I have a record player with pre-amp connected to an Onkyo receiver (without receiver, the direct connection from record player to Sonos speakers was not amp'ed enough). I'm trying to get true stereo sound by using the two Play:5's as left/right speakers. I'm almost there but got stuck as follows: I'm using two 3.5mm-Mini-to-RCA-Cables to connect the line-out from the Onkyo to each of two the Play:5's. Basically using one RCA cable to connect the right channel on the receiver to the right Play:5, and the second cable to connect the left channel on the receiver to the left Play:5. I setup a room called Office to have the two speakers, and I under Room settings I can see a line in (L) and a line in (R). So now, I can hear the music on each of the speakers just fine. But I can't figure out how to get the Sonos App to play BOTH speakers at the same time. When I go to BROWSE to select Line-In as the source of the music... I see the two speakers... but I can only select one o

1) I'm currently building a new house and play on having two TVs each with its own Playbar and two Play 1 or Play 3 speakers, then a Connect Amp wired to outdoor speakers. I have the ability (now) to wire any or all of these devices via Ethernet back to their own Ethernet switches and ultimately the router. Based on what I've read, the BOOST configuration is generally superior to regular WiFi, in which case I will plan on wiring at least one device via Ethernet to create a BOOST network. Is there a benefit in connecting more than one, or ALL of the Sonos devices via hard-wired Ethernet vs a single device?

I have the following setup. Boost - wired to ASUS router 2x play 1 Living 2x play 3 Living 1x play 5 Living 2x play 3 Pool balcony 2x play 1 with SUB - Whiskey Room Soundbar + 2x play1 surrounds - Balcony 1x play 1 Bathroom 1x play 1 Bedroom Recently the system has been dropping out. Symtom 1 is speakers cycling off room by room then cycling back on room by room. Symptom 2 is skipping (especially when using spotify) I have been through a lot of troubleshooting with SONOS support and have tried various channel configurations. I have removed the WIFI settings from SONOS but the issue persists. I have come to wonder whether DCHP may be a cause (noting that the BOOST itself has a DCHP (auto assigned) IP address. So do TWO other speakers which are close enough to plug in to the router. To try to help with the issue I have just gone and assigned static IP addresses to all the SONOS units that are currently DCHP. Have any of you tried this? and, does anyone have an
