Hi all, My lovely Playbar died last week and I am just outside my warranty period. I used this nice playbar for more than 5 years and refuse to throw it away. I have opened it up and noticed that a transistor has failed and burned the capacitators around it. Does anyone know what the value are of these smd capacitators C25, C26, C27. Also does anyone have a circuit diagram for this board so i can attempt to repair it myself. (I am competent with electronics). P/N: 170-00383 (board number) Date: 19-05-13 Many thanks all

Because I have over 65,000 files in my iTunes library, I am using the beta version of Plex for Sonos to gain access to that library via Sonos. Problem: I cannot see either "Album Artist" or "Genre" when I look at the library in the Mac desktop or iOS apps. Also, given the size of my library, I like to be able to see the letters of the alphabet on the right side of a scroll, so that I can jump to that letter, rather than having to scroll through tens of thousands of items. Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your attention.

I have Sonos in my office of 100+ employees. We run different music on different zones (we have 7 zones) however employees have access too so they can control music in their zones. The issues we always run into is employees selecting other zones accidentally (or purposely) and changing the music. Why hasn't Sonos come out with administrator privileges to prevent this from happening?

Hi Sonos, Why is it that Plex always fails for me? I was listening to my music for 2 days without problem and today with no changes made, it stopped working. My library is reachable from the internet and all my other devices. I can see my Plex librarys and artwork in Sonos. When I hit play, it attempts and then fails with unable to play 'SONG' - Unable to connect to Plex. My workaround is to play my music via plex on my TV and use line in on Sonos. Kind of defeats the purpose of Sonos. I have uploaded my logs under: 702102281. Please assist. It shouldn't be this hard!

Question: I'm adding a Sonos Amp to my house. I have many sonos speakers wireless connected through a Sonos Boost. Should I, a. have sonos amp stay on wireless set up, b. connect amp (it will be right next to router and boost) with ethernet to router, or c, connect amp with ethernet to boost?

I have Bose speakers that came with their own amplifier I now own connect app and connect I want to connect my Bose speakers to my connect amp should I also connect the Bose amp that originally came with that system. My connect amp also currently powers a set of indoor cieling speakers.

My sonos Connect keeps dropping the music (Service with Pandora Radio & Premium Account). for no reason. music plays fine for a couple of minutes or couple of hours and it drops completely. rendering my device useles, using the android app, or the windows app results in unable to find sonos until manual restart (unplug and replug from power). I have done extensive Network troubleshooting which are as follows. 1. Disable the Sonos built in WiFi & use the Ethernet wire 2. fully reset my sonos connect unit (Which resulted in better performance and dropped the music less often, but now after a couple of weeks its doing the same thing again. 3. Disabled the firewall into my ASUS Router model:RT-AC88U 4. Disabled IPV6 in my WiFi router 5. Fully reset WiFi router 6. Placed Sonos Connect into DMZ 7. Disabled AC wifi in Asus router 8. fully updated the router and sonos connect 9. changed ethernet wires 10. assigned a static ip into the sonos by using MAC IP binding into the wifi

I know there are many threads on this already, and I'm pretty sure I've been through them all but still with no luck. I have a bit of a strange setup (not my choice) of Ubiquiti switches and APs, and a Cisco router. We had a very similar setup a few months ago and had no issues, so I know it is possible. We switched service providers who supplied a new Cisco router, and have so far been unable to configure it to work. As far as I understand, there are two components to it: enabling multicast to be broadcast across the VLANs, and then allowing the various UDP and TCP ports in the firewall to allow the controllers to speak to the players. I'm getting a "You're on the xxx network but Sonos isn't." error. I would assume that the multicast component of the problem is working, as surely that indicates the controller is able to find/see the players, but cannot control then? I have tried temporarily opening up all UDP and TCP ports between the VLANs but still no luck. However, if m

Hi all I would like to know if it is possible to create a totally wired Sonos system in my home. The current setup is that the Sonos box is already attached to our internet router via ethernet but all the speakers are wireless. Some of our PCs are currently connected via ethernet cables and powerline adapters through the house's electrical system and I'd like to connect to Sonos in the same way. My initial ideas: Could I use powerline adaptors plugged into wall sockets from each speaker with an ethernet cable? If so, can I connect two speakers in some way so I only need to use one wall socket? Also, using our PCs to change the music would not be very convenient so could I connect a phone to one of the speakers via an ethernet/mobile phone mini USB to use as a controller? TIA

Hi, I just bought the new Sonos:Amp hoping to be cable free. I want to send video signals via AppleTV to my projector, and the sound signal to the Amp. I can´t get this to work. 1. If I airplay my mac via to AppleTV, and then (from my mac) send sound to the Amp, the airplay disconnects and I only got sound on the Amp. 2. If I instead select sound output "sonos" (and not HDMI) on my Apple TV, nothing happens Anyone have any experience, solutions or workarounds?

However, before he comes, I need to get a suitable TV cabinet. Hey guys, when I start listening to music on the Playbar the volume is always set to the middle of the range. This is quite loud when I start listening to a radio station. Is there any possibility of changing 'the instant volume' of the Playbar when I start listening to music? I'd like to have it a little bit more quiet. Thanks for your help!

Dear Experts around the Word, please help me to understand how Sonos Boost works technically. I would nee this informaiton for my Network design. CONTEXT: * Let's say there are 4 Sonos Connects on WIFI connected to a wireless router * The wireless router creates a WIFI e.g. SSID "homenetwork" with password "xyz123" * In this case, all the Sonos Connects are hooked on 2.4GHz on "homenetwork" as Sonos Connects does not operate on 5GHz but only on 2.4GHz * The wireless router provides IP addresses to all Sonos Connects * Any Sonos apps (on mobile phone) can control the Sonos Connect units as long as the mobile phone is on the "homenetwork" QUESTIONS 1) Are my assumpitons above correct? I recently added a NAS to my network running openmediavault. I copied my music library to it and created an SMB/CIFS share for it. The local URL for the share is \\OPENMEDIAVAULT\Music. I tried to open up all possible permissions on it, from the file system to the share itself, but every time I try to add the share in Manage Music Library on the Windows Sonos controller, I get the following message: Sonos was unable to add the music folder Please check that the path to the folder, and the username and password is needed, are correct. Reason: Access to the shared folder "\\OPENMEDIAVAULT\Music" is denied. I'm running OMV version 4.1.19-1 (Arrakis) The kernel is Linux 4.19.0-0.bpo.2-amd64 Has anyone gotten Sonos to work with an openmediavault share in this way? Thanks in advance!

Hi There’s a lot of talk about Mesh Network setups and how well they play with Sonos. This is not a post on what Mesh network works best. Just want to provide some info on the ASUS AiMesh setup. My onus to setup the ASUS AiMesh was not because of Sonos as I run it in Wired (Boost) mode using a dedicated Boost module(s). I just needed better overall signal strength/coverage. If you are using an ASUS router that is AiMesh compatible below is a link on proper setup. I personally use two ASUS AC5300 Tri Band routers in a three split-level home. I ran Ethernet cable to establish the AiMesh versus using Wi-Fi to obtain the best link (or Backbone) with a 1-Gb throughput. Sonos works perfectly and my thoughts are that it would also perform well in a Wireless (Wi-Fi) mode had a chosen that as the link for the AiMesh. I hope this helps someone. Hello, Upgraded our living room from smart TV to projector. The audio out on the projector is 3.5 mm. What is the easiest way to connect to the optical input on the Playbar? Maybe I'm stupid but it seems like all of the solutions I find are converters that go from optical to 3.5 mm versus the other way around. Any help that can be provided is very much appreciated! I just bought the new Sonos Amp and I love it. It makes my Mangepan MMGi's sound much better than my previous receiver. I have a pretty decent Yamaha subwoofer connected to the sub out on the Amp. I've noticed that when I turn on the sub output from the Sonos app the two stereo channels get noticeably brighter. My Maggies are already quite bright so the added treble boost is pretty unwelcome. But without the sub output my subwoofer receives no signal. I can use the primitive treble/bass eq in the app but that is not ideal and doesn't produce adequate results. Is there a way to enable subwoofer output without changing the eq of the stereo channels?

The Playbar does not provide a wide range of sound for music. I have 3s in the rear. If I add a set of 5s to the front is that a sound that is acceptable? I know that it will not create 7.1 surround, but will it create a decent sound coupled with the Playbar? It sounds OK to me but I am not an expert.

Hi there, I currently have a small setup comprising of 3 Play:1's and a connect:amp. These are complimented by a Sonos Boost. I am not tech savvy and seek some clarification. I have setup my bridge in th eoofice which is connected to my modem router via an ethernet switch. The Connect:amp is in the lounge room and is connected via ethernet. The play:1's are all setup as wireless around different locations of my house. The boost sits next to one of the Play:1's and is connected wirelessly. The entire system seems to work fine with the occasional drop out. I recently purchased the TP Link Deco mesh system which made me pull my hair out as I could not get Sonos to work, and if it did, only 1 play:1 was showing, not four. At this time, I unplugged the mesh system and reverted to my Belkin range extender's network and I have all products working. Should I have the boost connected via ethernet to gain better communication with all speakers, or is this setup suitable? I have read on

Love the AMP, wish I could do more with the EQ settings than just a single slider for treble and bass. If this was covered previously, my apologies but my searches came up empty. I know Sonos tends not to comment on future products, but any thoughts from Sonos or the community on what and when we might be treated to this? thanks!

I am trying to setup Surround sound on my home theater system. I have a Sonos Beam, Sub, and 2 rear speakers hooked up through a Connect:AMP. My television is an Panasonic VT60 which does have HDMI-ARC. I have my X1 cable box plugged into my TV into HDMI port 1, and the sonos plugged into the the TV HDMI Port 2 (HDMI-ARC port) but only Stereo sound is being output to my home theater system. I have enabled the settings in the TV (Viera Link) for ARC functionality. I have searched in various settings in the X1 Box, the TV, and Sonos settings to get surround working and nothing seems to work. From what i have read the TV should passthrough Dolby Digital. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Is it possible to setup a 4.1 configuration with two Sonos AMPs with all wired speakers including a 3rd-party wired powered subwoofer? I understand that the Sonos AMP with the surround sound speakers cannot be used for the subwoofer, but what about the other Sonos AMP? Does the Sonos software provide a way to enable this configuration?

I have in-ceiling speakers (2) in our kitchen, the speaker wire terminates two floors up in a media closet. The TV in that kitchen has ethernet run from behind it to the aforementioned media closet. Can I come out of the TV with HDMI (ARC) and use a transmitter or adapter to use Cat 5e cable to send that signal to the media closet and end it off with HDMI into the Sonos Amp? I have been looking at products like this but not sure if it will work.
