Advanced setups

Hi, I have recently wanted to connect my Sonos speakers from my Sonos Zp90 to my video system, consisting of an Apple TV, a projector, an amplifier and speakers. I have an idea for linking this system with my sonos system but I am not sure if it will work correctly, and this is why I am posting this today. I have attached an image of what I am thinking of doing (the grey middle square is a HDMI splitter to an Optical and HDMI)Thank you in advance!

So I have one Connect (Theater) hardwired to the network. My second Connect (Bedroom) is not hardwired. I had a few drop outs of the second Connect so I added my WiFi to the Networks section under "Manage Networks". It now seems to be working ok now so I guess the built in Sonos wifi network is not strong enough for the distance between the two Connects and the WiFi signal is stronger where the second Connect is located in the master bedroom. Does this sound correct?

I just installed a new wifi router. I have a Sonos split system. I was able to get the S1 working but couldn’t get the S2 to work. I have two Play 5s and a Boost running on S1 and 2 Play 3s & 2 Fives running on S2. Could you advise on how to proceed? I may have screwed up by trying to reset the apps so I don’t know if I need to start from scratch.Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello all,I have been scratching my head for days setting up my Sonos Play:1 speaker to be accessible across VLANs on my home network.  Tonight, I seem to have stumbled on a strange fix: turning off the app’s access to Location data in the iOS settings.My network is roughly setup like this:multicast VLAN + 2.4GHz wifi which contains Sonos and AppleTV guest VLAN + 2.4GHz wifi trusted VLAN + 5GHz wifiWith this setup I was able to control Sonos from the guest network, so I was pretty confident that my VLAN configuration was setup properly.  But, strangely I was unable to control Sonos from my trusted network.I finally decided to configure my trusted wifi to use 2.4GHz and things worked!  This made me decide to plug my Play:1 in via ethernet.  I figured this would avoid any issues with wifi since it would be accessible on the network over the wire.However, the problem persisted; the app would work fine on the Guest network, but it would not work on the Trusted network at 5GHz.I found mysel

So I have a Sonos Play 5 gen1 and a Sonos 1….will I be able to keep them both on the Sonos S1 app?  Or do i have to move the Sonos 1 to the S2 app? and keep the 5 gen 1 on the S1 app?  I just want my sonos to work together… 

I recently bought the Sonos Roam and I'm loving it. I use it both at home, at work and I'm planning to bring it to my summerhouse. All of these three have different systems and I can't get it to work with two separate systems. It’s connected to the system that I have at home, but I can't get it to work without bluetooth when I'm at work.  I’m wondering if there's a solution to this, can I connect it to two different systems and make it show up as a normal speaker in the sonos app?

The process of initiating Group Audio has challenged me since I received my Sonos Roam a few days back …Every time I tried the Group Audio to time by pressing play/pause for ‘1 second’ or wait for the ‘second tone’ as documented by Sonos, the Roam goes into Swap mode - I find it very difficult to achieve the Group Audio. Well, I experimented, and have a user-friendly process …1. long press play/pause - get into the Swap mode! - don’t worry about timing this press or listening to tones - FYI - the first ‘tone’ is when you first press the play/pause followed by a ‘water-drip’ like sounding tone and then a ‘chime’ like sounding tone.2. press play/pause till you hear the second tone / water-drip and release play/pause - CONGRATS Group Audio is happening. Repeat and you return to  Swap mode.Lastly, if you are in Group mode and want to bring music back to the Roam only, you have to first get into the Swap mode - then long press play/pause to have music play on the Roam only.If Sonos is tuned

So I had 2 play 5 gen 2s using a line in and optical adapter from my tv paired with 2 play 1 as rear “surround” speakers. This weekend I bought a Sonos arc and connected the 2 play 1 as the surround speakers, it’s awesome.  however when I paired it with my 2 Sonos play 5s (which are in a stereo pair) it had an echo. I was able to adjust the tv dialogue sync to +2 and it fixed it.  however my question is, is their a way to pair them with the arc so it reads as an entire system. I use Google tv and the remote will control the arc but not the play 5 volume. My hope is to find a way to pair all 5 speakers together as one. Any tips would be appreciated.  in a perfect world I’d love to be able to pair them all together and have the low end come from the play 5s.  I realize this is overkill, trust me I’m married, I’ve heard it. So just helpful tips no judgement on my choice to go deaf by 50. 

I plan to install my five pair horizontally. im guessing they will still work as stereo pair and not have to be used vertically for them to work as they should. I know it sounds like a stupid question but I just want to make sure. 

Hello, I have a Portable Handheld Radio Receiver which has a frequency range 400-470 MHz. I was wondering if it is possible to transmit whatever is playing on the handheld receiver direct to my Sonos One speaker? If so, how?  Also, the channel that I listen to only transmits certain times of the day, is it possible to get it transmit automatically to the Sonos when there is a transmission? Thanks in advance.

Hi,   I’ve been using my Pioneer Receiver with my Sonos system via the ‘works with Sonos’ function. I recently upgraded by old ‘bridge’ to the new ‘boost’ and upgraded from S1 to S2. My receiver can no longer find my Sonos components. Is this due the the changes with Sonos or is there something wrong with the receiver? I updated to the latest software on my receiver and nothing changed.   Thanks. Brian

HiTook delivery of my new Roam yesterday and am liking it so far. I have it as part of my home Sonos network and have also paired it via bluetooth to my iPhone.I see occasions when I’d like to take the Roam out and about with me, but still be able to use Google Assistant etc, by having the Roam pair with the hotspot I can activate on my iPhone. Can this be done? I guess it would mean that the Roam would need to store the wi-fi details of both my home network and my iPhone’s hotspot. I hope this is possible.Cheers

Hi All, Two issues:I can see and control another resident’s SONOS system without logging in (turn on/off Alarms, Play music etc) but cannot add or remove devices. I cant create my own system or add my own device to the shared WIFI network and can only use the S2 app.I will attempt to explain this as simply as I can - and am seeking a solution.I recently acquired a SONOS Roam and primarily use a homepod based setup within the house. - a mobile Airplay Speaker? yes please!  Perfect for taking out on the back deck.... The problems:I live in an  Government Service residence (we are required to live here for work, and have to comply with the network requirements, and all share the same private network and are not able to introduce new networks into the building. There are approximately 26 apartments with each household being everything from single individuals to families of 5). Hi all,I have a Sonos Connect connected to a new Yamaha receiver (Yamaha TSR 700). I’m having trouble with the settings involved in getting the sound from music coming from Connect+Receiver to align with the sound coming from my other Sonos speakers throughoug the house.  We think the sound coming from the Play 5, Sonos One, Beam, and Move is ahead of the sound coming out of the Connect + Receiver. Very slightly, but with the more brassy tones it is pretty noticeable.  I solved this before with an old receiver, but every receiver is different. Hoping this community can help provide some tips on how to solve this. The Yamaha has Scene settings so I can save whatever settings end up working for whole-house listening.  thanks for the help! 

I have still not seen any feature to enable/disable night mode on my arc at a certain time. I have heard of external apps to do this but they are all on the Apple store not play store which is a problem for my android phone. Alexa also does not seem to be able to modify the night mode setting. I am running out of ideas I have 2 young girls and the ability to schedule this would be so incredibly helpful. 

Hello all.Need some help here, have a sonos playbase, 2 sonos ones and a sub (got it a couple of months back) and since then I have been having issues to keep the sub on the network. I have a google wifi mesh ( 1 in the living room where the system is set up and a couple more in the other rooms). I have the sonos 1 connected via a ethernet cable for sonos net. My sub is not too far from the wifi point. Every other day my sub keeps dropping out with a question mark, I have tried the following.Played around with the channel and now set to 11 dont know which one to select because whatever I select does not seem to work. There is no way I can change the channels on the google wifi.  Assigned DHCP IP to all the devices so that the sub always gets the same ip. I reset the whole system so many times and set everything as new and that did not work.  I do not have any interference close to the sub.  call the support and they said sub is not receiving the signal, but it is close to the router ar

I have read many posts about how to configure Sonos when you have 2 or 3 homes and how to manage the different speakers in each house.  Many of the solutions involve “resetting” the app on your phone each time you go between each house, so the app somewhat “forgets” and “rediscovers” which house you left and which house you just arrived at. I have managed to implement a different procedure that does not involve resetting the Sonos app and I wanted to share it and see if it fixed more problems than it creates for other members in the community. I’m not sure how you would do this on an apple phone, but my Samsung Galaxy has a “secured folder”, which creates essentially a separate phone within a phone, where many apps can run in another “instance” with different accounts and without conflicting with the same app on the primary instance of the phone.  Other Android phones can use an app called “Dual Space” which does pretty much the same thing. So in my primary home, I am running Sonos nor

I recently purchased 2 sonos move speakers that are stereo paired and currently have them on the 2nd floor of my house. The main Xfinity gateway/router is on the first floor directly below the room with the move speakers. The other side of the 2nd floor has a wifi dead spot where I installed a EX8000 Netgear Nighthawk wifi extender which just failed completely and now needs to be replaced. What type of WiFi range extender would you recommend that will provide "seamless roaming" for my other devices but won't cause interference with the move speakers' connecting to the main wifi? (I had initial move installation problems that your tech said was caused by the Netgear wifi extender.)

Hi,I know this subject has already been discussed but mostly about the delay/lag issue.My concern is different and concerns sound quality.I mostly listen to music in front of my computer, through Foobar (mostly FLAC) and Deezer Hi-res.At the moment, I use a DAC (DACMAGIC PLUS) connected to the computer with USB and to active speakers (Focal Shape 65 plus a sub) through XLR.It sounds good but it’s a bit annoying because I have to switch everything on and off when using the PC or not, as the “auto power on/off” of the different devices doesn’t work well.Also, I have Play 5’s in my house and I love their sound, maybe more than the FOCAL (which are “studio” speakers thus more neutral and less “fun”) so I thought : why not try the SONOS on the computer ?It works (with a slight delay but ok for me) but I find that the quality is altered because of the “aux / line in” connection.Maybe it’s only in my head but as the only solution is to connect one of the Play 5 to the DAC through a AUX /RCA c

I currently have a Sonos Arc, Sub and two Play:1's set up for 5.1 surround.I'm thinking about purchasing a Sonos Port, which I'll pair with a headphone amp to essentially create a Sonos integrated headphone socket in the same physical room as the Arc for late-night listening.My question is, if I was to use the Port in this manner, would the 5.1 signal going to the Arc (a movie, for example) get downmixed to stereo before reaching my headphone amp when I'm listening using the Port, or would I only receive the true L and R surround channels (no centre/dialogue channel)? 

Hello I have my sub placed in a cabinet that is 2 ft 8 inches wide, 1 ft 5 inches deep and 1 ft 7 inches tall.  I would highly value any recommendations on how to place the sub to get the best accoustic performance.  Please see the attached photo.   

We use often travel with our Move- as it’s designed for this; weather resistant, Bluetooth equipped and a fantastic battery life. One of its key selling points was the ability to use it this way.  However, I can’t change bass or treble when I’m traveling.  Can only do so when back home attached to my Sonos home network.   I’ve bought several cheap Bluetooth mobile speakers over the years- even tiny USB ones- that have bass/treble controls.  My iphone sees the Move when away but settings/systems don’t show any controls despite what the manual says.  Thanks for any guidance- I’m sure I’m missing something.

Greetings!   My system includes:1 x Connect (ZP90) (connected to LAN via ethernet)2 x Connect:Amp (ZP120)  All running S1 with the latest firmware and software.   ZP90 connected to the Internet via Ethernet cable.  I am wondering: do ZP120s allow wired connection with Ethernet cable to ZP90 in serial mode: ZP90 === ZP120 === ZP120?  The idea is to exclude Sonot Wi-Fi network and increase stability of the network connection. Thank you. 

Hi, I have 4 sonos amps hardwired running 4 independent zones in my house all in one Av rack that are daisy chained via a hardwired switch, now I’ve just added a ubiquti ap to the same switch so I can throw the WiFi down the garden to reach my pub, where I have a new 5th sonos amp which is obviously not hardwired it’s running on the ubiquiti ap. im having problems as the ‘pub’ keeps dropping of the system (my WiFi is set to 2.4ghz) does this all make sense ?please help
