What to get

I have an existing Sonos network with 6 players of various types. I’m thinking of buying a Beam. But I need to understand how it will interact with my Sonos players. I can’t find much info on the subject. The closest I get is some rather terse statements in the Sonos User Guide under “home theatre settings”. The “TV Autoplay” and “Ungroup on Autoplay” settings could do with a bit more explanation…Can somebody please comment on following assumptions / questions:I can add Beam to one of my existing groups. As long as the TV is off, Beam behaves like just another player in the group. When I turn on the TV, there are several possibilities: TV Autoplay = on, Ungroup on Autoplay = on (default) Beam switches to TV audio Beam drops from the group The other players in the group continue playing whatever they were playing TV Autoplay = on, Ungroup on Autoplay = off Beam and all other members of the group switch to TV audio TV Autoplay = off Beam and all other members of the group co

Hello again Sonos comrades.I was just wondering if somebody more technical than myself could speak to whether it's better to use a top-of-the-line wi-fi router or a Sonos boost. Or if there is any benefit to using both together.I recently came into possession of a Netgear router with WiFi 6 capability and high throughput. I am pretty sure it's the best you can get on the consumer market before getting into industrial routers.I got it because have some WiFi weak zones in my home caused by a dense brick chimney that runs through the middle of my house. This causes some of my sonos speakers to drop out or disappear.Currently I am still using 2 Sonos boosts with the new router and I think I have seen a marginal improvement in performance quality. But its certainly not been the panacea I was hoping for; especially for the price I paid for the router.My question is, would I be better off without the Sonos boosts? Is it possible the boosts themselves are impeding the potential of the router?

Hi there I am looking to purchase a record player and need some support to ensure I am ordering the right product for me. We already have :- 2 x Play1 (I think this is what we have, we have had them a couple of years now so may be an older version). They are not wireless. - 1x sound bar which we have for the tv - 1 x subwoofer I am looking at what the best option for a vinyl player would be? It would be placed in the same room as the sub woofer and Play1. Are either of these compatible? Or would we need something else? Also is it recommended to get one already with the amp built in or not?  

If i upgrade my play 5 gen 2 do I have to throw it away / trade it on or will they now let you continue to use / sell it on. 

Apologies if this has been asked before but I’m curious as to what people think.  I’m thinking of getting a few speakers for the living room. I often sit at the piano and like to play along to what I’m listening to so I need a setup that won’t be drowned out by my (questionable) playing. My aim is to create a stereo pair and then position them each side of the piano.  The conundrum I have is whether to go for 2 Ones and a Sub, which I assume (hope) will give me better separation of highs from lows OR 2 Fives without a separate Sub.  I listen to a really wide variety of music including classical and Jazz so the mids and trebles are just as important to me as the thumbing bass.  Thoughts? 

With the Port currently not available until late 2021 as a workaround, I am attempting to use the Connect (Gen 2) to stream music on an existing amplifier and speakers. I have found a used one on Ebay. Before purchasing, I want to know if this is still feasible. 

So looking for a solution for an outdoor speaker on a summer house in the garden.Have seen Sonos do fixed outdoor speakers but they are out of my price range.I was wondering if a Roam would work?If I could mount it on the wall and keep it plugged in would that work? 

When will these be available to purchase. Been trying to order for over 6 months

Hi all, Currently we have three pairs of SONOS Play:1’s and we have the issue that the music stops a couple of times a day. However, we don’t see any interruptions in network traffic or latency drops.Those speakers are connected over Wi-Fi into the ‘SONOS’ vLAN.To be complete: we are a midsized company (120 employees) with a substantial IT infrastructure: firewalls, vlans, routers, switches, servers etc… Currently we have a ‘SONOS’ vLAN that has no restrictions outbound.Since this is failing that much, we would like to replace the lot and -whilest we’re at it- extend the installation to a couple of the floors/rooms that aren’t covered for now (only the workshop is covered now). This would probably need about 15 speakers.We don’t want to buy 15 SONOS sets (whether it’s a ONE or ONE SL or standard speakers connected to an AMP) without being 99.99% sure that this will work.Please share your experiences in ‘big’ environments.Any thoughts or suggestions?(My experience: my home infrastructur

What is a good replacement for Sonos. Since they no longer support my devices such as a Connect:Amp I need to replace it. And I'll be damn if I give another penny to Sonos so they can drop support on it later.My Connect:Amp devices disappeared after installing the S1 app.Dale

Hello, I cannot seem to find any information regarding the topology of an ARC, AMP & SUB configuration. I am building a room for an ARC, an AMP and (1) Sub. I’m not clear how Sonos connects the amp when utilized as a surround device. In short, can I have the ARC and SUB in the room with the connected display and the AMP located in a network closet wired both to the ceiling speakers and connected to the network via CAT6. I’m not clear if SONOS joins them as a network device or a wireless device, in which case I presume there are proximity/distance limitations to the AMP from the ARC. Any information would be lovely.  Best // Cortez  

I have a set of mission lx-2 + speakers which are 6 ohm speakers with a minimum impedance of 3.5 ohms and a recommended amp power of 20 - 120 w. Also I have a pair of outdoor polk audio speakers that are 8 ohm. I would like to connect them with my sonos amp using a speaker switch which is a monoprice switch. I can’t seem to get a clear answer from  sonos or the folks at mission speakers so I thought I would ask the sonos community. First of all are my mission speakers a good match for the sonos amp and secondly is it ok to use a speaker switch with this set up (it’s very unlikely I would run both sets of speakers at the same time)

Just wondering if anyone had a Arc and two Ones that they use for both TV and a Vinyl setup.  If you do, do you mind sharing what I need to start listening to vinyl with my speakers. Currently I have the three speakers mentioned for my AV setup and no more.Thanks in advance. 

Current status. JBL Studio series bookshelf, and center, Sony amp , pro-ject turntable and a average pioneer receiver in a large bonus room  this room is used for music and tv watching, very casual.  I have a tv in living room with a sound bar /sub that is easily overwhelmed by the rooms large awkward size. 5 sonos ones scattered around house   on to the my question.  We are planning on downsizing and I won’t have a dedicated room for tv/music, the new area for tv/music will be a great room with living,kitchen and dining in one large area.  I want good sounding music and tv that I don’t have to keep asking wife “what’d they say?”options seem to be :A) Non-sonos sound bar (of quality that can handle room size) + sonos amp + current bookshelf speakers+ sonos sub with current Ones for musicB) Non-sonos sound bar + sonos amp +sonos sub +2 fives for music+leave ones scattered around houseC) sonos arc+sonos amp+ Sonos sub+ keep current bookshelf for music and ones scattered around houseOrany

I have a Play 5 in my office, thought I’d move my Play 1 (1st gen) into my office and pair them…. Support’s solution was to play them together, which sounds pretty good but not really what I, looking for.  Can I get a suggestion on which speaker(s) would be best to pair up with the existing Pair 5 for “optimum Sonos sound”  The space is a home office, 12’ X14’

I have a play 5 gen 2 that recently stopped working , ran a diagnostic, faulty wi fi card . I have now received a replacement it works but stops midway through a song - have called Sonos who were v helpful spent an hour on the phone and ran various checks , including changing wi fi channels nothing works - I have two play 1’s both of which work with no problem - a case has been raised and I am waiting to hear . Has anyone any ideas ? I don’t believe it is a wi fi issue as the others work (I have put one where the play 5 is and no problems ) - 

Hello friendly people - I have the Arc and am looking to upgrade the living room sound experience - should I spend my budgeted money on the Sonos Sub or two smaller speakers to put behind the couch?  I don't need multiroom or Sonos one sized speakers for any other reason (just FYSA).Thanks!

I have a project coming up Need Suggestion Zone 1 - 2 In Celling Speaker  Non Sonos Zone 2 - 2 In Celling Speaker - Non SonosZone 3 - Bang&olufsen A9 - Non Sonos Zone 4 - 2 Outdoor Speaker - Non SonosZone 5 - Bang&olufsen A6 - Non Sonos   If a have to create 5 Zones , then how many Sonos Port I have to use ? And do I required Sonos Amp also for In Celling Speakers ? And is it possible to use Bang&olufsen Products with Sonos Port , when Bang&olufsen products is self has an multiroom built in ??  Please Suggest  

Hello,A favorite uncle of mine who does not have much of a gift for listening is avidly listening to tennis news and other related stuff all the time,  and being his favorite nephew I'd like to get him Sonos speakers to make his hearing more enjoyable. My experience with Sonos has been wonderful, so I would be interested in finding any good Sonos speakers he can put on his TV to enjoy tennis matches, news and other things with a clear voice.See you:)

Hello- I just moved into a house after 15 years of condos and I want to maximize the space/sound.   We have an open floor plan on the first floor and listen to music a ton.  I am debating between these 3 Items and this is mostly for music: 1- Sonos Architecture In-Wall Speakers2- Sonos Arc by the TV above the fireplace (had a company come out and they said this would be the best sound and easiest to install)3- Beam by the tv I do have a bunch of one’s I can connect as well that could provide more sound.   Would welcome any feedback on best ideas/sound.

Hi guys, so I’d like to know why the apple HomePod mini has a wider soundstage than the Sonos roam? In this photo I have attached, the Apple HomePod mini is on the left and the Sonos Roam is on the right. I heard the sound test too and played it on my Sonos play 5. The details in the song tracks seem to be wider and more present on the apple HomePod mini. But does anyone know why though? I was hoping the Sonos roam would blow the Apple HomePod mini out of the water with its sound quality but that does not seem to be the case. Very comparable sound quality it’s seems. It seems the apple HomePod mini is a little better for music with its wider soundstage.    

Hi all, I currently have Apple Music, a ZP80 (that is hooked up to a record player and a cd player) and two Play Ones and I wanted to know what I would have to upgrade to have the following things work:- Being able to control Sonos from Apple Music (I can only control Sonos from my S1 app and that thing is awful.) Could I control Sonos from Apple Music if I had other equipment? If not, is the S2 controller a lot better than S1?- Streaming lossless music from Apple Music to Sonos Speakers.- Streaming high-res music from Apple Music to Sonos Speakers. It sounds like this would require some sort of extra DAC hardware and I am guessing new Sonos speakers that could handle hi-res audio (I am assuming the newer speakers do). It sounds like Apple Music requires you to have an external DAC to stream hi-res now. Is that the case with all of the other services out there?Thanks so much for your help. I am considering buying a Bluetooth turntable in order to revisit some dusty old vinyl. I am particularly interested in the Project T1 BT.I do not want to connect any additional cabling into the turntable.I only currently have Wi-Fi SONOS speakers in my system and was hoping that I could buy either a MOVE or ROAM bluetooth speaker to connect to the turntable and additionally use as a ‘bridge’ to enable playing of the vinyl on my other wi-fi only SONOS speakers. Can anyone confirm if this is possible to mix output via both bluetooth and non bluetooth SONOS speakers?Thanks
