upgrade play 1 to work with play 5

I have a Play 5 in my office, thought I’d move my Play 1 (1st gen) into my office and pair them…. Support’s solution was to play them together, which sounds pretty good but not really what I, looking for.

Can I get a suggestion on which speaker(s) would be best to pair up with the existing Pair 5 for “optimum Sonos sound”  The space is a home office, 12’ X14’

Your best option would be to create a stereo pair with another Play:5 (Gen 1) speaker:

FYI… you cannot “pair” Sonos speakers of different models. Only Sonos speakers of the same model can be stereo paired. You can only “group” different model speakers together.
