Since the IKEA website lists the lamp as “last chance to buy”, this particular SYMFONISK model is probably discontinued so it will soon no longer be available unless they decide to introduce a new lamp model in the future.

It probably isn’t available for delivery or pickup from your location. If you have any close friends or relatives in other states, you should ask them to check if it is available for them and ask them to purchase it for you.

Having recently purchased a couch from them, I’m acutely aware that they’re not really set up to transfer items from store X to store Y. I ended up having a relative on the other side of the country go purchase a cover, and then ship it to me, since IKEA wouldn’t do it. Nor was IKEA able to tell me when that particular cover might be back in stock locally.
Great if the item is in the local store, completely useless when it isn’t.

Unfortunately, Sonos doesn’t make these lamps, they sell the innards to IKEA, and IKEA makes the lamps, so there’s just no way for a Sonos employee to know when the new ones (or the old ones) will be available.

That was my understanding as well, but it’s a little surprising we have not heard more about the new lamp by now. Anyway, if I was dead set on getting the gen 1 lamp, I would start looking at ebay and other secondary markets, and expect to get on used of with a bit of a mark up.
