was just gifted a Sonos One SL for my birthday, i’ve been planning to get more but am unsure how compatible gen 1 is with gen 2. The Sonos One SL I am assuming is the newest one out because was gifted it recently. If i wanted to buy more speakers, do they all have to be gen 2? or could i buy a Play 1 Gen 1 from a friend and it all syncs together? Planning to buy a beam/arc around christmas. mainly plan to use for movies, music when friends are over.
2014 living in a camper:Bought a Play-bar, sub, 2) Play 1, Play 5 2019 bought a house and added a Beam I now want to add a bar, sub, and 2) Play 1 to have a whole house sound system House is only 1,120 sq ft and I currently have no delay/echo issues Should it be simple to add as I have done in the past? Purchase, plug, play? Thank you!Travis
Is there anybody out there that can explain to me the point to buying a Sonos TT Project Debut carbon for $749 when I can buy the Fluance RT85 Reference High Fidelity Vinyl Turntable with the same blue cart and the built in preamp for $599.Also I have been looking at the Victrola carbon stream for $799 which has the selling point that it is wireless and not in need of an RCA jack. Since I plan to use the TT/ Play5 in the same room what advantage am I going to get out of the Victrola. Thanks
I’m purchasing a Sonos speaker and I saw when trying to pay with Apple Pay on the website it offers 5 shipping options… free Ground 1-5 day, $15 2 day express, $25 1 day express, FREE 2 day express “CSR”, and FREE 1 day express “CSR”. When I look at paying without Apple Pay it just offers the normal 3 options, free ground and $15 and $25 express options. What is “CSR” shipping, and if I select it will I really get FREE 1 day shipping? Thanks!
Can Sonos beam be paired with in-wall speakers (architectural) to create surround sound effects?
Hi All,After reading all the glowing reviews I ordered the beam gen 2 from Canadian store on march 25th and it's going to be two months now and the order has not been shipped yet . Customer care is utterly clueless about eta sometimes they lie and no one seems to care about the order. Could someone please help me on escalating this ? Talking to customer care feels like shouting into the void.
There are a number of conversations regarding problems with TV set-up, especially with Samsung TV’s not playing nice. Rather than troubleshooting problems, I’m interested in successes.Specifically, has anyone combined a TV+AppleTV+ARC or TV+AppleTV+AMP (for ceiling speakers) where the TV remote controls Sonos Volume AND the volume level displays on the TV? If yes, please share the details of your setup and TV make/model.Thanks
I have 2 Sonos Amps and want to connect them to my Onkyo TX-NR6050 7.2-Channel AV Receiver. Do I need to buy a port to connect them all and control on my speakers?
helloI plan to buy a sonos ray.I have a concern.I want to connect it to my Samsung smart monitor M7 pc screen. the monitor does not have an optical port it only has Hdmi Arc ports.the store near me sells the sonos ray and offers the sonos optical adapter with it and assures me that it allows you to do this:sonos ray -> adapter connected to the optical port -> hdmi cable connected to the hdmi port of the adapter -> hdmi cable connected to the hdmi arc port of the monitor. What do you think ? because I called sonos support who did not know what I was talking about.. thank you
Hello all, I know this question has been asked in a variety of ways, but I can’t seem to find my exact answer. I’ve listed the components of my system below: Sony Bravia x950HApple TV 4kPlaybarSonos Sub I have the apple TV going into the Bravia via HDMI. Optical out to the playbar and wirelessly connected sub. No problem with this setup to date.I recently moved into a location that has built in rear speakers that I would like to connect to this system as dedicated rears. It seems I can purchase the Amp to accomplish this. I have 2 questions: 1.) Will I notice any latency in connecting the rear speakers with the Amp? If so, is there a way to avoid this with my current setup?2.) What would be the best way to setup? In my mind, I would just add the Amp wirelessly to the group. However, I have access to all the “guts” very easily, meaning, the location of the amp can connect to the same ethernet as the Playbar, and I also have access to the HDMI-arc from the TV or apple TV if neede
Hi,Im moving to a big house in a couple of weeks and im planning to put in a Sonos One in the kitchen and a Sonos Five in the Tv room. The problem is that Sonos Five gen 2 was released 2015 ( 7+ years ) and Sonos One 2017 ( 5+ years ). They are quite old now. Dont you guys think it wise to wait a while for the new ones to be released? Im not in a hurry.
Arrived yesterday. Played with it a bit. Todays a different story. This is a beast over my previous Ones. No question. Sonos hasn’t let me down yet. What’s next?
We purchased a home that has a fairly new Sonance patio series speaker system (four speakers and subwoofer) already installed and the wiring is already run through a wall and located inside the house. The previous owners took the amp or whatever they were using with them. I just have the set of four wires (all labeled coming through the wall from the outside speakers). I want to power the speaker system and also be able to stream music. We have high speed internet so we can connect using WiFi signal to the amp/receiver. Which Sonos product or combination of products would be best to accomplish my goal of powering the speakers and stream music to the speakers? Maybe controlled by the Sonos app? I am new to Sonos so the easiest and most understandable solution would be greatly appreciated. I can provide photos if helpful. Thanks!
Hey Sonos community,I'm wondering if I can pair a SUB mini with an existing home theater system. I know we can add a second sub but can that sub be the Mini ? Existing system is:1x ARC2x Sonos one1X Sonos Sub Thanks
Hi All A friend has just taken over a restaurant with a pretty old system in it and i’ve convinced him to take the plunge on some SONOS due to the experience i’ve had with it.You can see from the plan (below) that its a pretty big space. The objective isn’t to create a nightclub, but good sounding background music that can be cranked up a little when needed. Thoughts on having the ONE SLs is that they can create nice ambient sound locally without needing to pump the Play5’s up too hard to cover than area, but with the Play5’s giving decent low-ish frequency throw.Planning to setup a few zones/areas, but the main different is the two ceiling heights of the main area and the lounge area.Thoughts in my head are to use a combination:5x Play5 4x One SL 1x iPod Touch on a mount for controlsWhat do you think? Overkill? Needs more speakers? Note: Black lines through the middle are solid walls
Can I use sonos roam as smart home speaker like echo or Google nest? And does it support zigbee or z wave protocols to connect smart home gudgets or only wifi?
Our main room of use in our house outside the kitchen is a living room, that is 26’sx12’, our furniture is on the long sides with doors on both ends. I currently have a five on one end, and a one sl on the other. While it sounds fine, how can I fill the room with sound? I was thinking two fives up high in the corners facing the couch and two one sl on the wall behind the couch. And maybe adding an amp. Could I get by on just two fives and an amp? Or to make a complete immersion should I look at speakers in every corner? What is the best way to set it up to get the most out of it, and would I be ok with the sub mini, or look at getting the bigger one? Thanks
- Which sonos smaller speaker can I pair with it to move around the house?? I don't want an additional Five
Now that the Roam has been out for a year plus now I was thinking about purchasing it. There’s a lot of Sonos fan that went out and bought the Roam when it first came out. I was not one of them. I am a firm believer in Sonos products. But also I like to wait a bit to see how the reviews are. Plus I was hoping they would be available in other colors other than white or black. Most of you said that that would not happen any time soon. But this happened a few months ago and I thought again about buying it. But held back. I read and seen a lot of reviews on how there are other portable speakers other there that are better than the Roam. I’m eyeing the JBL Clip 6 right now. That seems to be better than the Roam. Anyone has opinions on the JBL or other portable speakers? Bose would be another choice over the Roam. Maybe someone here can convince me to purchase the Roam?
Hi all! Hoping to get some recommendations on the number and placement of Sonos ceiling speakers in a new construction home. The image below shows the dimensions (living room is 15’x20’) and likely furniture placement. I’m hoping to use my Sonos Playbar combined with the ceiling speakers in the living room as surrounds. In addition, I’m hoping to fill the room with music that sounds relatively even throughout. It’s feeling like the right approach is 6 speakers + 2 amps. Of course that gets pricey, and also thinking there might be other options I have not considered.Hoping to get thoughts / opinions. Thank you!
Hi guys, I have recently purchased a Sony A95K O-LED tv and have been looking at sound bars. The best value for money it seems is the Sony HTZF9 which minimal problems it seems. Now I have been looking to get the Sonos Arc, has anyone had any experience in pairing the Arc with the Sony tv? Is it worthwhile? Any problems? Can I still utilise the 5:1 surround via the bar and the tv, and is it compatible? Thanks guys.
I’m considering adding a sub to my setup. I have an Arc and two Fives in the same room. I want to add a sub so that:when i watch TV/movies, i’m using the two fives as rear speakers when i’m listening to music, I’m using the two fives and the sub.\Questions: How do i setup a sub to make this work? is this even the best way to listen to music with this setup, or should i involve the arc somehow? Is there a way to do this without destroying my trueplay tuning, which is essential for the weird shaped room I’m in? What happens if I put them all in one group , and then just mute the arc when I’m listening to music? Thanks so much for considering. any help you can give is super appreciated.
I ordered a Sonos amp 12/24. Ship date was supposed to be 1/14 but now they are saying it’s delayed and don’t know when it will ship. My question is has anyone actually been receiving their orders at all or does the ship date just keep getting pushed back for everyone? I’ve noticed these expected ship dates being displayed for the last 6 months. Has anyone actually received one?
I have now tried three times this week to order a Sub Mini to go with my Sonos Beam, and each time my order has been cancelled by the Sonos website.I contacted sales support and they say that their system faced an integration error that cancelled customer orders in bulk?Anybody else struggling with orders on the Sonos website?
Hi. I’m thinking of getting the new sub mini for a room that has a Playbase and two Sonos Ones? Is this a good match for the sub? I think the Playbase already has a sub in it. So maybe I do t need the sub mini? This is for tv and music, Does anyone have any insight? thank you!
