What to get

Yes, I know this question is asked a lot but I’m asking it again.  I currently have an Arc +  Sub.  Love it.  For music, I have a five that I usually play along with the Arc + Sub.  Hate it.  Obviously this is not a stereo pair and it does not do justice to music listening.  I’m contemplating buying another Five and only using the 2 Fives as a stereo pair with no sub.  Or do I remove the sub from the Arc and use with the Fives?  I really wish I could use the sub interchangeably with the Arc and Fives...but sigh.  Thoughts? cheersJ

I am so confused at this point.  I have a beam connected to the tv and a new turntable with preamp. I also have a Sonos one in another room and am likely to move it and add another one to create surround in living room. I also have two echo dots in other rooms.  I want to play the turntable but don’t want to buy bookshelf speakers. I have a small apartment so wanting to make the best with small options and want to integrate what I have.  So, I assume I need the sonos amp? If I buy a port the I’d also have to buy a separate amp?  Help!! 

Hi,Hopefully you can help me with a couple of questions:Would I be able to connect a Technics SA-C600 Network Streaming Receiver with CD Player to my Sonos system and if so I be able to use this for my turntable (Essential Pro-Ject turnable ,don’t think this turntable has a preamp)? And what Sonos equipment would I need to connect the Technics unit, would it be a Sonos Port?Thanks Kevin 

I bought a home with four hardwired outdoor speakers that look to be  infinity Outrigger Junior speakers from best I can tell. They  are wired into a media shelf in the den. The house is 15 years old and I have no idea how old the speakers are.Will one Sonos amp be able to run the speakers. I have looked and could not find anything.I have not bought anything yet, but want to make sure before I do.

Hello, I’m going to put a Sonos solution into the first floor of my house.  It’s essentially open concept and I can’t determine if I should just get a pair of 5’s in the living room area, or split everything up with a bunch of 1’s and a sub (put under couch).  My set up thoughts are outlined in the following image.  Red is 5 placement, Green is the 1 placement. Location of 5’s would be in a built-in bookshelf.   Any recommendations on which route to pursue?  Majority of listening will happen in kitchen and living room.   

I’m investigating an upgrade of my existing home theater to Sonos and would love some guidance on options.Setup:Traditional Pioneer Amp 2 front, 1 center, 2 rear and a sub all hard wired Apple TV connected into Amp Xfinity ‘box’ connected into Amp TV connected HDMI into Amp All sound for TV goes through amp 2 outside wired speakers connected through ampI would love to use all my existing stuff but happy to part with my old amp.I would love to have the ability to play something on the TV and something else on my outdoor speakers. Thoughts?

.: Hello. I am a Sonos newbie, this is my first post, and I am not very tech-savvy when it comes to sound systems. Recently, a friend guided me through the purchase of an LG 65” 4K tv and a Sonos Arc sound bar. I would like to add a turntable with pre-amp and a DVD/CD player to my sound system, but as best I can tell, one cannot do this with the Arc. I’ve perused the Sonos site to try to get a better understanding of what component(s) I would need to add, and the more I search, the more confused I find myself.Ultimately what I would like to do is have the outputs from my turntable (old, not wifi-enabled) and my DVD player (wifi-enabled) play through the Arc (if that’s even possible), and/or through wireless speakers, like the One SL. I gathered from my searching that I would also need the Amp. From what I can see looking at the back of the Amp, only one device requiring RCA cables can be attached to it. If this is the case, would I need two Amps, one for the turntable and one for the D

I want to connect my system to KEF LSX2 powered speakers, which Sonos product do I need?

I have 3 Amps, 1 Connect and 1 dock for my home system.This power four zones with a total of 12 speakers. I am ready to pull the trigger on S2 because I want Apple Air Play.I understand the need for 3 new amps but what is the replacement for the Connect and the dock? Do I use what they now call a port?

I’m trying to set up surround sound with only using sonance speakers. I don’t want a sound bar under my tv..  I’m going to have two sonance speakers on each side of the tv and 2 ceiling sonance speakers behind the couch.  Do I need two Sonos amps to drive the two sets separately? I assume so because the ceiling speakers will be ambient and the in wall speakers by the tv will be full.  Also, Do I need to connect HDMI Arc to each Amp if I need two or do I just connect to the wall speakers and then group the other set? I don’t know if when I set it up in the app it will be set up as a home theater or if I manually have to group the two amps together whenever I want to watch tv and adjust the volume separately. Any advice would be appreciated! 

I would like to add surrounds to my arc and sub. I have a couch that is against a wall with no room to add play 1’s as surrounds. It looks like only way would be to use in wall speakers. I'd appreciate any input as to speakers to use as well as how to connect to Sonos arc. I'd like good sound but not looking to break the bank with setup. Thank you.

Hi My friend is considering to buy Sonos speakers for her home - 4-5 speakers in different rooms of her home.  She has never owned wireless speakers.  She is an Apple user with iphone 13, Macbook, ipad and iwatch - the whole family with Apple music streaming.  There are several other streaming serivces like Siriux XM but she does not have Spotify or Youtube PremiumuQuestions:Overall, how does the quality of the Apple Homepod mini sound compare with Sonos speakers? How good is the Siri integration with the Sonos speakers given we use Apple music streaming?   (Hey Siri….) Can the Sonos speakers allow you to enable them in 1 room at a time vs all rooms.  Can another family member use a different speaker for their use at the same time? Which Sonos speakers would you recommend for someone who wants to set them up for different rooms in a home?Any other suggestions or considerations before making a purchase would  be appreciated.

Hi.  I received an e-mail offering 20% off Sonos accessories through tomorrow, 2/1/23.  The discount is supposed to be applied at checkout, without having to enter a promo code.  Two days ago, I ordered a pair of Sanus speaker stands, that appeared to be 20% off, but I was actually charged full price at payment, so I canceled.  Now, when I go back to sonos.com, none of the 20% off appears on any product despite the fact the sale is supposedly going on now.  I was signed in when I ordered.I tried reaching the sales team via chat and phone, but no one is available.  Does anyone know what is going on? 

  I am in the process of building a new house and we are in the framing stage. We are getting a new TV (Samsung Frame) which will be mounted over a fireplace. We currently have a Sonos Sound Bar , and two Ikea Bookshelf speakers set to surround sound.Mounting a Sound Bar is not going to be feasible above the fireplace since it is a frame TV.  Since we are willing to buy all new equipment and prefer to go ceiling, what us the best option? Do I need bookshelf Speakers? Also, we like to extend 2 ceiling speakers in the kitchen area to extend music or tv as well. 

I have a Samsung TV in my living room that I use an Apple TV on. I play podcasts on it and frequently stream SiriusXM through the TV. There are two wired speakers connected to the TV - just left and right - no surround.I would like to add wireless speakers in my office and bedroom that have the same audio from the TV so I can listen while moving around the house. I bought a One SL thinking this would work without really looking into it first. Now I’m realizing there doesn’t seem to be a way to connect it to the TV.Is something like this possible and what do I need to buy? I’m happy with my TV speakers and don’t necessarily want to replace them but I would be willing to add a soundbar if that would work. 

The sonos amp is 250 watts maximum whereas each speaker is a maximum of 130 watts. If I add 6 speakers, the total for speakers will be 780 watts.  Will the sound coming from each speaker decrease as I keep increasing the speakers? (6 speakers compared to 2 speakers)

I see that people have asked similar questions, but I can’t seem to find the right answer. I have today a couple of sonos:1’s and 1 sonos:5. The latter has a vinyl player connected to it. If I would like to also connect a CD player to the same sonos:5 I will need a Sonos Port or a sonos connect, OR can I merely buy one more Sonos:5 and connect the CD player directly into that? I realise that I would then need to locate the new sonos:5 right next to the existing sonos:5 and that may be silly. What to do? PS: I am using Spotity for conveniency, and vinyl for the best experience here but I do have a lot of CD’s with music that is not on Spotify so that is the reason behind it. Additional question: I don’t think the Sonos sound is very good, but probably just ok. Is there anything I can do to improve the sound apart from spending 2000$ to buy more speakers, a sub, etc?

Hi all,I’ve had an email saying you can get 20% on the SONOS website. When I select the item I’m after, Sonos Stands for ONE, ONE SL and PLAY:1 white, and add it to my basket when I go to pay it reverts the price back to full price and not the discounted price. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’ve tried to contact/get hold of Customer Services however, I’ve not been successful as the email address I have keeps coming back as not in use.Any help is appreciated.

I am currently creating a home theatre setup in a family room that measures 18’x12’. I do not have the ability to install recessed wall speakers, and I do not wish to hang speakers off the wall. Can I use 4 ceiling Sonance speakers to be my front L+R and rear L+R, along with a sub and Arc for my centre channel? I am planning on hooking up the system to my television via the Arc.

Hi AllI have a Sony PS-HX500 turntable with built in pre amp. I currently have it running through an old amp and speakers which works well but I would  prefer to be able to stream to the Sonos speakers I have in rooms around the house (a mixture of Beam, One, One SL, and Move) so I could listen to it anywhere. I’ve read so many articles but am still confused as to what would work and what would be best. The Port looks to fit the bill, but some reviews don’t seem great as regards sound quality. The Amp looks to fit the bill, and looks to have better reviews, but is obviously quite a bit more expensive. Both seem to offer functionality I don’t think I need.  For what I want would either of these be better than the other, or is there a different solution in the Sonos range? I’d be interested to hear views from people who have either, or have found a different solution. TIA
