What to get

I am moving into a condo that has built in wired speakers in two rooms. The speakers are several years old, but they work. They are Boston Acoustic In-Wall speakers. The previous owner had two Sonos Connect amps, and connected to their home network via Ethernet.I have two questions - First, what amp or setup would be recommended to power the existing speakers (the speaker cables are easily accessible).Second, I would greatly prefer not to use Ethernet as the condo is no longer wired for it. Is that going to present a problem?Thanks in advance for any advice. 

I just ordered a Move 2, primarily to use in my backyard, but also in the kitchen at times.  When in the kitchen, would it make sense to include a Sub-mini to enhance the bass experience?

Hi,I’m trying to decide on what would be better for music listening. Mostly streaming off Spotify. I’m a bit concerned that the Fives may be replaced soonish which leans me towards the newer Era 300s but I’m not sure which would be better for my usage.  I may decide to wall mount them. Would that negate having the up-firing tweeters? Im really stuck choosing. I’ve spoken to two Sonos reps and one said the Fives and the other the Era 300s. Any help would be super appreciated! Hi Sonos Community,Moving to a new house and looking at what’s possible in our great room for surround sound. My wife is open to the idea of adding speakers to the walls in our casual dining, but I don’t want to do anything hideous that would ruin the aesthetic in the room that’s supposed to be for enjoying time with family.I have the following components:Arc SL Sonos Sub (Gen 2)I am evaluating purchasing either of these options for surrounds:Architectural Speakers (QTY 2) with Sonos AMP Era 300s (QTY 2)Problem Statement:The ceiling in the room will be high at almost 20 feet and the room is very open. My first thought was to go with adding two Sonos architectural speakers on the back wall in casual dining, but my chat with Magnolia at Best Buy yielded a negative response as my estimation is that primary viewing would happen roughly 14 feet away from the speakers on the back wall in casual dining, which would be too far for those speakers. We could also do (2) white Sonos Era 300s and r

I’m looking at a music setup in a room sized around 5.5m by 4m and was wanting some advice on what to get.The price is roughly the same for 2 era 100’s v 1 era 300.at a later stage, I may also look at adding a second era300 (if I choose that option) and maybe a mini sub but at this stage, just starting out.I’ve got play 1’s and one’s in other rooms and they are great, but for this room, I want to go with the era type speakers.i  subscribe to Apple Music so have access to spacial and Dolby Atmos.any advise would be much appreciated.  

I'm purchasing some Sonos speakers for my fiance as his wedding gift. Upgrading from some old portable Sony SRS speakers I've had for awhile. We mostly use them outside like on the back patio or in the garage. I'm trying to choose between getting two Move 2s or four Roam 2s. Someone asked a question for 1:1 but now that Roam has been available longer I'm hoping someone has experienced self made "sets."

I have always been impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the Sonos community, so I thought I would seek its opinion:I currently have a set-up for our living room of a Playbase (optical connection to LG OLED TV), sub and two Play:5s as rears for both watching TV and listening to music. I had previously briefly set up the Play:5s as a stereo pair for when listening to music, and the Playbase + Sub for TV, but seemed to prefer having everything surround.I am now considering a Sonos Beam Gen 2 as an upgrade/replacement of the Playbase (it is still working but I know the wifi card can become an issue). What tempts me most is that the Beam can use the EArc connection of the LG for Dolby Atmos. Questions are therefore:Can I expect to notice a difference/improvement in sound field when switching out the Playbase for the Beam Gen 2 with Dolby Atmos using the current surround set up?Should I consider uncoupling the Play:5s for stereo music listening, and have the

Is there any news on an updated version of the Five?An Era 500 for example? I’m surprised nothing has been mentioned yet seeing as it came out in 2020 and is lacking some of the functions the newer Era 300 has. I’m looking to get a new speaker but just cant spend on a Five now, this late into it’s lifecycle. I’ve seen quite a few similar posts online.

I want to add a Pro-Ject to my sonos system.  I also want to listen to my vinyl using Sonos ACE headphones.  What other sonos product must I purchase to make this work?  I do not have an ARC and suffer from all the outdated Sonos equipment I have -- it all sounds and works great but is quickly obsolete when Sonos adds new products -- it ages so quickly.  Help?

I have a small room but a 90-in projector screen setup. I'm curious if the beam is too small for the projector screen or if the arc is too big for the room. I also intend to purchase a sub and two SLs.

I have a Samsung smart tv with Sonos soundbar and play 1 speakers. Sometimes the speech is difficult to hear. Is there a Sonos product that I could add to my system that would improve quality of speech?

I’m about to buy a Sonos system purely for music. I was thinking about a pair of Era 100’s and a Sub mini. But after more research I’m now considering the Five. But do I need 2 of them for stereo sound? It would make the set-up a lot more expensive.My only consideration is sound quality, (and the price of course!) so am I going to better my first option of using a sub & 2 Era 100’s, with a system without a sub?I would appreciate some experienced input with this. ‘

Hello. I'm wondering if Sonos is the right solution for what I'm looking for and, if so, which products. This question is actually on behalf of my parents. They are wedded to a large CD collection and have no interest in streaming, at least for now. They'd like a setup for their television (soundbar and possibly also a sub) that ALSO has an audio input to which they can attach their CD player. I think they plan a single room setup for now, but would like the option to add speakers down the road that will allow for music from the CD player to play in multiple rooms.One other relevant piece of information: they live in a community that has a common wifi network for residents. I'm not sure whether they have their own wifi network in their unit (although they may - I will check). Does that mean Sonos can't be used for the purposes above?Thanks, appreciate everyone’s help.

Hi AllI’m new to Sonos and a music fanatic. I’m looking to put a Sonos system in an outdoor space called a naya. It wont get wet or ever be in direct sunlight. From the small amount of research I have done, it looks like a Sub Mini and 2 x Era 100 speakers would do nicely.Would they be ok with the humidity?Does this seem a good starting point, and could I add a screen at a later date?Do all 3 require mains power?Have I missed anything?Any input much appreciated!Many thanksColin

I have a arc system with sub and two ones as rear speakers. When playing music from smart tv apps, such as Spotify and watching music videos, I don’t get the best sound quality, like I do when listening to music through the Sonos app. I have found out that the arc system has two modes. One for watching tv, and one for playing music. When listening to music through tv apps, It will only play in tv mode, and you don’t get that good music sound quality the system is capable of producing. So I wonder why Sonos don’t have a manual “switch” for this?  I would love to have great music sound quality also when listening to tv apps and watching music videos.

I live in a standalone apartment with no one above, sides, front or back of me, so cranking up the volume is not an issue.  my apartment is laid out with both a family room and dining room adjoining each other with a side kitchen and the question I have with a 17‘ x 33‘ living and dining room area combined, would I be best served with 2 ERA 100 speakers or 2 ERA 300? I now have a Beam gen2 with a sub mini and would upgrade to a GEN 2 Arc when it comes out later this year or next year or whenever. I’m 79 years old and my hearing is not that great, but would like speech clarity in the movies I watch. After getting my sub mini along with the beam 2, the experience has improved greatly with my Samsung TV. Would I be best served foregoing the side surroundsound speakers and keep my current set up? I don’t care about wasting more money if I’m not gonna get a good improvement.  

Is there a wireless speaker that will allow me to hear TV programs audio?

After spending thousands of dollars on Sonos products they’ve now released an “update” that makes all of it mostly unusable. They added no features, they improved no functions, all they did was incorporate advertising. Now I have to scroll through crap adds on my phone before I can try to play music on the speakers I paid stupid amounts of money for. That is, if I can even get it to work given the app fails to work and/or outright crashes most of the time. And on top of that, I’m now getting relentless emails, text messages, and popups advertising their headphones. As if I’d ever give them another dime. Learn from my mistake - don’t buy app connected or controlled hi-fi gear. This is what happens, even if the company has been trustworthy in the past.

I want to set up a home surround system with Sonos speakers.  My preference is to use four in ceiling speakers and one Beam.  Will this do for a good setup?  My preference is to primarily use in ceiling speakers for this purpose.

Hello, I know there are a lot of similar discussion, but I did’t find my solution now. Maybe it’s just to individual, but let’s give it a try.For years I have my two Sonos Play 5 (1st Gen) in the living room, one Play 1 in the kitchen and another Play 1 in the bedroom.For now I like to upgrade my living room. Mostly listen to music => Spotify, mainly Rap & Pop, therefore the Play 5 as a stereo pair are perfect.  But I like to add a Soundbar for a little home theater. Beam Gen2 in mind. Ratio Music to Movie is about 70:30 Room is around 40 square meter.Now my question: Which would be the best solution for listen to music in a good stereo quality but still have the option to enjoy movies with Dolby Atmos?Option 1: Two Era 300 and Beam 2 Option 2: Two Era 100, Sub Mini, Beam 2 Option 3: Open for suggestions in ± same BudgetWhat do you think? 

I am wondering which would be better for listening to music - mostly vinyl at low ish volumes in a smallish sized dining room 3.5 m x 4 m.Cost is about the same ATM with upgrade pricing. Era 100 x 2 plus sub mini or 2 x Five? many thanks

So. Lived in cheap rental. Got 55"tv, sonos beam gen 2 and sub mini. That was eargasm compared to what i was listening before.Fast forward not 2 years later, bought a small flat.  Now im sitting about 1m further away from tv with sofa right in the corner against the wall. And now i just dont LOVE my setup. Now dont get me wrong, still a big upgrade from tv, but feels like i have to turn sound up too much to get the same effect. And beam just feels... smaller? sub still shakes the window easily so not looking to upgrade that. My sofa is maybe a couple inches from the back wall and maybe 20cm from side wall.  So my question is. If i want…. More. do i have space for surrounds? Would 300’s be wasted in less  than ideal placement? should i get 100? i cant move sofa forward. Maybe just a little to the side.Or i have no space for surrounds and i should upgrade to arc? For lack of better words, im looking for ‘bigger’? sound so i can listen quieter and still be happy. mostly video streaming, g
