Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

With Smart TV’s using HDMI CEC along with HDMI ARC, we should be able to Display TV/Movie Cover Art in the Sonos TV Input page. This would be a great feature to ad at least as an option to turn on and off. At least Apple TV’s can communicate this with iOS which should be able to relay it back to the Sonos app in some way.
i have a cd player connected to an amp and stereo speakers (non Sonos). how can I also connect the CD so the music plays through my Sonos speakers in another room. What cable do I need if any?
15 Nov around 7:30 using Sonos Radio to listen to Radio 4, the program was interrupted with the message ‘due to rights restrictions…….’ There seem to be a number of threads on this subject, but no satisfactory explanation or recommendations. I have 2 questions:- Given Sonos is aware of the issue which they say is the BBC’s problem and that the issue is affecting their customer base, what are they doing to raise the issue with the BBC to find a solution? As this issue has been running for some years, is there a recommended service for U.K. users to use to listen to BBC Radio4 which does not suffer the same problem?
In bed now, need to get up to shutdown the move, why is this?
Why is Sonos so unreliable, now lost count of the times its just lost a product either during or between sessions. getting ethernet cables out mid evening, climbing a ladder, trying to ‘find a product’ that is 10mm away. this appears to be so unfit for market.
Help please I have recently purchased the beam 2 but when I switch on the tv there is not sound from Apple TV or my Amazon fire stick, everything is plugged in properly as soon I unplugged and plugged back the HDMI the sound comes back and it was fine couple a days ago tv set properly and the rest too and is very frustrating that I need unplug and plugged back to the sounds comeback
I would like a geofencing away option, so when I leave the house everything automatically turns off. Why hasn't this option been delivered yet like all other smart devices nowadays? It saves energy when I forget turning my music off. Otherwise option to integrate better with Google Home or have a functionality to turn off while from home like with Hue or Tado.
Ok Peeps, I am new to the Sonos game (as of this past year) and inept when it comes to “tech”. So far, I have been VERY happy with Sonos! All I have (atm) are 3 -Sonos One SL’s. 2 of which I have set up as a stereo set and 1 stand alone. I love the simplicity and sound quality. What I’m nervous about is all this talk of Sonos “bricking” my (soon-to-be) old equipment. My plan was to invest heavily in more equipment over the next year or so. A Port x 2, Arc, Subwoofer, surround and outdoor alone looks like it will set me back around 4K or more. My question or point is this- will I/we regret this in the future as our equipment becomes outdated? It’s funny because at heart I am a cheap skate but I don’t have issues SPENDING on things I care about. But, when I spend REAL money on something I care about, I expect it will last. -life expectancy of quality speakers 20-100 years!-life expectancy of a Sonos purchase...TBD I would LOVE to hear other people’s thoughts on the subjec
How nice would it be if you added mesh-functionality into your Sonos devices. Then people would receive an outstanding 2-1 solution and we could get rid of all those ugly mesh systems/extenders.
Let me start by saying - ANC is not easy and it takes quite a bit of engineering to execute it reasonably well. ANC with headphones or ear buds have the advantage of being sealed system where you can operate in the finite space of the ear canal. Having said that, I was wonder if it would be possible for Sonos to build a unit that might help facilitate rough ANC and negate some road noise in an urban environment. I’m not talking sharp or inconsistent background noises (sirens, horns, etc.), but I am thinking more of the droning of background road noise (car acceleration, general road noise, etc.).I live in downtown Austin, TX and my condo is close enough to the I-35 corridor to pickup consistent background noise. I was wondering if it would be feasible for Sonos to develop a connected device that could suction-cup to window with two microphones and built a processor to act an ANC engine to drive the speakers in the room. One mic would pickup sound vibrations hitting the window fro
About classical music, why there is no credit to works author's?Display is about opus, soloist, conductor, orquestra, but no author. And not everytime recording’s picture displays it, particularly if recording is a collection of several authors. Regards.
Dears,I’d like to connect my Sonos system to B&O speaker Beolab 20 (2 pces).Should I rather use a Sonos Connect or should it be a Sonos Port ? Thanks a lot for your support.CheersPatrick
Everybody’s so serious here so I thought I would lighten the mood. What update, upgrade, or newness (from rumors etc.) would you most be excited by and why?Sonos Headphones Sonos Voice Control Sonos Integration with Siri Sonos Dolby Digital (+) 5.1/7.1 Fix on Arc and Beam Updated X (Move or some other product) Something else completely….
I purchased a Sonos One to try the Sonos product line for the first time. I purchased the device in April 2021 and it stopped working in May 2021. It was replaced under warranty for a new Sonos One which I received in May 2021. This new Sonos One failed in June 2021 and Sonos replaced it with a refurbished unit this time. The refurbished unit was received and installed in July 2021 and subsequently failed within a week. This makes three defective Sonos One units in four (4) months! While this is enough to make me angry that I ever decided to try their products, the customer service has been what has me ready to insane.I initiated another RMA return on this third unit on July 27, 2021 and it is now August 11, 2021 and I still have no replacement unit and another call to customer service got the response … “we received your defective unit on August 3 and it is still being processed” along with NO ETA for when they would ship the replacement unit. I’ve basically spent the better par
Any chance you can release a road map for new products or updates for 2022. Only thing I hate about Sonos is everything is always last minute on the announcements. Would be good to hear what you actually have up and coming. Thanks.
I am hopeful you can help with figuring out what products I need to pull off my design. Here goes….I am beginning a backyard project where I am looking to have a mix of wired outdoor speakers and Sonos. First area is a swim spa where I will be mounting 4 speakers onto the pergola. Next, I am having a fireplace built where I am looking to mount a tv and a sound-bar. About 20’ from there I will have a bar where I want to have some speakers that can listen to what is on TV or something different. Next, I am having a fire pit built where I will have speakers there too that can also listen to the tv or something different. Lastly, I have speakers on my front porch and under another porch that I would like to have included as additional zones. With the above said, what kind of Sonos devices do I need? I’m looking to have all the speaker wires run back to a central location for ease of management.
I read the community blog most days - passes the time. Seeing all of the sometimes agonized comments prompts me to say that I have been a Sonos user for several years, have updated and upgraded the software and hardware as needed, I use several different Mac systems and a Synology NAS to access Mac music, Audible books and other books on various local library files. It all works and has caused me no trouble over the years. I added a Roam, worked perfectly first time, and continues to work as advertised. The Soundbar update was easy. Adding new Sonos surrounds was also a breeze.I am not a Sonos, Mac, Network or It specialist, I just follow the instructions, and, guess what, it works!
I used to use sonos all the time in both my own home and other commercial locations and got away from it due to various reasons, but i am revisiting the use of sonos port, however with Dante audio being a primary means of network transport on most of my projects these days, i would like to see all my audio stay in the digital realm too. I would like to see an integrator version of port which may output dante and/or aes67 and potentially be POE powered as well. Continue to provide all other existing software integrations.I currently have to convert the spdif to dante to maintain a purely digital signal path, which adds a device inline which costs more then the sonos port to begin with. Additionally if you made this version in a form factor that fit easily in a single rack unit, such as a 1/3 or ½ rack space unit and accompanying shelf to be able to place multiple of these units together on this shelf. Thank you !
It would be great to have the ability to turn on a fade in feature - if you pause a song when the volume is cranked, it starts very abruptly when play is pressed. I’d love to see the ability to have it fade in a bit more gently
Hi,I am looking for advice how to play my firestick from my projector and play the sound out of my beam? Attached picture of Epson acer projector and bi directional switch I bought. Thanks Bren
Android user. If I want to share something I hear I can’t do this directly from SONOS app. I have to open Spotify, search there and then share the link to the tune in question. Is this ever going to be implemented? As a programmer I can’t see which problems there might be. If I’m playing from Soundcloud the link I’m sharing should point to Soundcloud. If I’m using Spotify then the link should point to Spotify. The information is there already. Just hook the SONOS app to the SMS service that’s already there in the phone. It works as a charm from Spotify:s app. Why not SONOS’?Anyone?
C’mon Sonos - you can do better than this:“Smarter on the inside and more beautiful on the outisde for exceptional sound all around.” (one sentence to describe the beam and wow, it’s a doozy)“Jonatan” (no way is that someone’s real nameI’m not a grammar police type person, but geez, I expect better from a company I’m so invested in. Let me know if you need someone to proof your stuff - I’d be happy to help. :)
Why is the race section when signing up for beta test program lists whites first and black last? You can’t even argue they are listed in reverse alphabetical order as they are not. Is sonos trying to insinuate something here?
Shopping for a Sonos Move. Retail is $399. Sonos website is $399.I see in the process that Sonos reminds me I should brick some of my older gear and call this an upgrade. I agree to brick a component and go to apply the discount.Magically, the Sonos Move price quoted to me on Sonos.com has immediately RAISED to $499 pre-discount. with 15% discount it’s $424. So you bricked my traded-in component, and now I get to pay you $25 *more* than I would pay by buying retail?!?Sonos, you have lost your way.and, I expect there has to be a law or regulation that makes this improper. Shame on you.
After researching systems I decided to purchase Sonos. I started with a Sonos One and have been very happy with it. And had planned on ultimately replacing my theatre system with Sonos. Not any more. I purchased a pair of Roams in May with the intent on using them in a family room and outside around the pool. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in a purchase. The battery life is horrible even when not in use. I charged them three days ago, went to try them today, and they are down to 15%. Ridiculous! I have an older JBL speaker that cost half the price and perform better than the Roams. Why Sonos would develop a product that doesn’t easily integrate to their other products with such poor performance is beyond me. I regret not sending them back within the 45 day return period.
