Is anyone else frustrated by the fact that Apple isn’t supporting updates to IOS for older, but functional iPhones, and SONOS isn’t updating the app for older IOS?
These people are in the upcoming AMA, so politely do ask them anything since Sonos are choosing to ignore the forum.Diane Roberts, Senior Director of Software Development, Kate Wojogbe, Senior Director of User Experience, Tucker Severson, Director of Product Management,Moderator edit: Removed employee email addresses. I have about 20 Sonos speakers and was a ig Fan from day 1. Am now on my
I’m a Sonos user since 2012. And this update disappointed me faster than I thought would be possible. I just sat next to my dad who said “sonos … redesign … huh”. My immediate response was “please, god, no”. This should tell you everything what my state of mind was after S2. I wish my response would have been “oh yeah, they are gonna fix the S2 issues” but no …The S2 app already left me in a state where I kept triggering stuff on the wrong group multiple times a week (and typically I would kill a running Spotify audio book for my child and there was no way to tell it to back to the audiobook but having to god damn re-invoke the search, navigate the exact chapter and play it again).I don’t know how to say this, but the whole group handling had me - a 12 year sonos user - have to watch 2 videos to figure out what the hell was going on and now that I understand that the groups/speaker selection feature is hidden behind “<whateveryounamedyoursystem>” dropdown is completely undiscove
What is with the new app DULL!black and white is your only option
What the hell have you done, I liked Sonos as it was seamless but you have really killed it this time. I used to recommend Sonos to everyone I know, but I would be embarrassed to do so now, all the stations I used have been wiped, Amazon didn’t work this morning and I spent at least an hour chatting with a rep to sort it who eventually admitted that Sonos were having issues with the new app, whoever is responsible should be fired the app is pants. Sonos be honest with what the update is, it’s appears to be a way of making us subscribe to many of the streaming services we were previously using for free. 😡
What a PR disaster. Utter arrogance of the response. Sonos USPs completely ignored. Did nobody review this release??please can someone tell me how I get queue management back?Or roll back?come on Sonos… give us the last app back until you’ve bettered it.
Don't people ever read the content of messages here? There must be 100s of single one-off posts, each complaining about alarms, or network library access. A 5 minute read of existing content will tell you what works, what doesn't and what you can do (essentially wait until Sonos provide fixes). Basic lesson to be drawn is don't leave automatic updates switched on 😁
Sonos App AMA - CUSTOMERS COMMENT ON THE NEW APP
I do not want to pay a monthly fee for Sonos Radio. How about an annual one-time fee of $75.00? I would go for that.
New app. Upgraded on one device. Glitchy to begin with. Most things there with new navigation, no biggy. Only frustration is groups as before are shown under “manage” but not all the groups are available for selection to actually play as a group. In my case 3 out of 5 groups can be selected to play. Deleted and recreated those not appearing but still no go. Wait and see I guess. Thankfully I didn’t upgrade in every device.
Having just updated my Sonos App I now can’t find the Alarm setting! I understand the technos have decided to exclude this function!! Why, it’s the best reason to have my Sonos. Can I revert to previous App, and how?
Hi,Habe mir heute das neueste Update installiert. Weiß jemand wo der schlummermodus abgeblieben ist? Danke für eure Hilfe Moderator Edit: Added translation by GoogleHi,I installed the latest update today.Does anyone know where the snooze mode went?thank you for your help
Several posters are threatening to dump/sell their systems following this fiasco update. Who's going to buy a crippled system except at a knock-down price? The update's reputation will rapidly become common knowledge. Good luck!
As a longtime Sonos customer I am very disappointed in this latest Sonos App update. Frankly, it is a ‘buggy’ mess! There should have been much better beta testing before putting this version into production.Hopefully the Sonos team can quickly perform damage control and fix the multitude of problems I’ve experienced in just 5 minutes of using this new App. Very frustrating.
It took four phone calls and three emails to finally receive a return label. Ended up screaming at some poor customer service rep in Philippines to finally get it. Absolutely a disgraceful company. I will never buy another sonos product and will bash them till the day I die.
Why does Sonos upgrade suck so badly
Sonos has released it too soonmany of the home content is showing as cannot display, you can’t rearrange favourites…etc etc.when is the bug fix update available?
I have series 1 setup at my home. Haven’t updated as multiple products are not supported on S2. I have a second home that I want to create a new set up with newer products. I run my system from my I iPhone with the S1 app. How do I use one phone for S1 and S2 support?
Then, I suggest that you give this podcast a listen. It is an excellent episode from the "How I Built This"-podcast, featuring John MacFarlane telling the story of Sonos's early days. There were parts of the story I didn't know, like the confrontation with Apple at a convention. Another was the first song ever played on a Sonos speaker.I joined Sonos after the special edition Beastie Boys Five was released, and I only understood the importance of it once I heard the story in the podcast. Here is the link, if you want to listen to the episode:https://wondery.com/shows/how-i-built-this/episode/10386-sonos-john-macfarlane/And now I’m curious. What was the first song that you played on your Sonos speaker? What are your thoughts after hearing the podcast? Did it answer some of your questions about the early days of Sonos? Or did it create more questions? Let us know in the comments.
From The Verge:https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/6/24150573/sonos-ace-headphones-reveal-leak-wireless I wonder what that thing is under the headphones case...
About a week ago, I sent two speakers for replacement. Only one had a problem with the Wi-Fi, but since I was using them as a stereo pair, the representative told me to send both. They received the first one (the one with the Wi-Fi card issue or something like that) on Wednesday, 4/25, and sent the replacement the same day. I got the notification that they received the second speaker on the same day, 4/25, a few hours later. It's been a week, and they haven't even sent me the shipping number for its replacement. According to their email, I was supposed to receive the replacement 1 to 5 days after they received my speaker. I've contacted them multiple times, and all they tell me is that they've escalated it to the returns area, but that doesn't help me. The first time they escalated it was days ago, and I still haven't received any follow-up email. It's quite frustrating because I've read stories from other people here, and it seems that when this happens with SONOS, it can take months t
sonos connectivity with changed broadband supplier, I’m unable to connect the speaker insofar as I cant get the speaker working as before
I’ve given up now. After several years of having to reinstall, reconnect or just give up on listening to music when I want to but Sonos don’t want me to I’m giving up.I’ve gone through several routers during this time and the same issues happen. It works then one day it just does not. No connection, cnnot find system etc. Every single other item I connect to the router works fine. It’s solid.Sonos reliablilty is pathetic. TV, laptop, phone, Amazon stuff etc All fine.So I’ve decided to gift myself the gift of time. No longer will I spend hours trying to reconnect the Sonos system. I’ll just play it on loudspeaker from my phone. or buy another speaker, I’m guessing the cheapest made one will work better than Sonos. I’ll be binning both my speakers. £100 plus each wasted. I’d sell them but I do not want to open up another person to the terrible experience owning a Sonos will bring. I do not want to rob them of all that time. Thanks for nothing Sonos.Anyone on the fence of bying a sonos. Pl
When I bought my first Sonos speaker in 2010 or ‘12 I gave Sonos the benefit of the doubt. Company is new.. working out the kinks… but 14 years later and the newer devices I bought in 2018 still be struggling?? Occasionally people change their WiFi setup. Why must it be such an arduous task to get these damn WiFi speakers to connect to WiFi?!?!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬quit spending resources on beautifying the app… just make the speakers connect to the damn WIFI!!! Or Bluetooth, or WHATEVER… it boggles my mind that Tesla can update how a car drives over the air, as can apple, as can EVERY DAMN DEVICE I OWN… except Sonos, the WiFi speakers… don’t connect to WiFi!!!!
