no more local music libraries

Support just told me the new app will not initially support local libraries. That’s the only thing I use Sonos for so for some undetermined number of months my system will be useless. This is really upsetting. I was told that I can avoid doing the update but is that an option?  I’ve been a loyal Sonos user since it first became available, and now it feels like I may lose all its functionality.

You should disable Automatic Updates for your system. And, avoid following some sort of urgent “update now” suggestion from a controller or email. A significant risk is that a kid or friend will update the system thinking that they will be doing a favor.

You should block both Sonos device updates and controller updates as either might be a problem in your situation.

The automatic App-Store update function is not your friend in this situation.

Turn off Automatic Updates in the App

Block the following URLs in your routers firewall:

update.sonos.com

update-firmware.sonos.com

I just found out the hard way. Local libraries are supported but is virtually unusable.
