Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

Another very frustrated customer. Accidentally updated the app, I would normally wait a month or so to let things smooth out, I know there are usually some teething problems but this is shambolic. Aside from the features changes, the loss of alarm and sleep functions, I can’t use Amazon, the app is slow, laggy and throws up “something went wrong” errors every couple of minutes or so. I’ve spent 45 minutes with an agent trying to get it working, I had 30 mins of play this morning before Amazon stopped working again. Theres a 60 minute wait on the helpline and nobody available on chat.I’ve you’ve yet to update, don’t do it!Is there any option to rollback to the previous app?
I’m not kidding around, this is serious…I’m taking a poll to see who believes that the software engineers at Sonos who wrote the latest app, need to have their degrees retroactively revoked by the universities from which the graduated. No accredited education institution should be allowed to produce incompetence at this level. Please reply to this poll as a way to let Sonos know that they have really messed up badly. I have thousands of dollars of Sonos gear and cannot believe that a company that makes such good hardware can make such incredibly bad software. let’s send a message and see if Sonos can pull together.
I am in need of help getting my sound system working. I’m in line for tech support (again) and have been waiting nearly two hours. I’m waited repeatedly over the last few days (70 minutes at a time) and spoken to tech support, but there has been no resolution to my problem. My issue is that my speakers drop in and out randomly, and it’s not necessarily speakers that I've selected dropping and coming back (although that happens a lot), it can also be speakers that I didn’t selected jumping in. Songs skip, volumes swing up and down, and although the app shows that I select speakers to play, the selections are often ignored and unselected as soon as I leave the screen. With the previous tech call, the tech identified that there are network conflicts and he asked me to set specific channels for my 2.5GHz and 5GHz wifi. I have a the latest Wifi tech, Orbi 970 mesh, extremely fast and very reliable. Although I upgraded recently, I have been having this problem for a long time with my p
Moderator Note - Translation by Google:Since the app update, Sonos has only responded very slowly or not at all. I want your old app back! Please reset once. The new app only brings disadvantages and makes using Sonos extremely difficult. It's incredibly tiring to even get a title/playlist to
I have been a Sonos user for a very long time. The latest App and desktop (Mac) app updates have completed removed access to my local music files. I cannot re-add them and cannot find a solution. I am mystified why Sonos has done this and provided no way forward for us in this position. Given the many hundreds of pounds I have invested in my Sonos system over the years I am very upset and angered that this is the situation. Can’t add a single song anymore to my playlist. Atrocious!if I was in America I think there would be a class action against Sonos to do something about this. to solve this in the short term allow us to re-install an older version of the app that will work as it did before these more recent updates.
What were you thinking?????? This new App is the absolute worst. I think it’s what is referred to a a downgrade, not an update. Somehow Sonos has managed to take me back to the 90’s with all these issues. Every time I want to listen to any music in my Library, Spotify, or even my local PBS radio station I get a pop up saying something went wrong, please try gain later… how much later? Sometimes days. Makes me regret spending thousands of $$$ on a complete home system that I cannot access at all. Luckily I have an older IPad that is too outdated for the new sonos app, so I can still use the old app to access music and radio. Now I cannot recommend sonos to anyone until they revert back to the old system.
The update is what was needed awesome recovery !! SONOS.. satisfied customer !!
Aloha, I have an outdoor TV with 4 speakers that are connected to 2 Sonos Amps setup in a home theater setup. When I updated to the new app, the zone dissappeared. I had to factory reset and reinstall. The speakers are now working, but there’s no option to control the volume or balance of the surrounds. And no home theater setup options. Distance, remote setup, etc. The previos app used to show the zone as Amp and Amp rear surrounds, now it shows just 2 Amps. Right now movies sound like crap as the rear surrounds are way too loud and I have lost control of them.Other features missing that I haven’t seen mentioned are the ability to change the Sonosnet channel, Line-in settings and Compression setting for music. Right now my system is a mess! Can someone shed some light on these missing features as I didn’t see mention of these features in the roadmap. Very frustrated long time customer, former employee, share holder and dealer.
Hello,At time of writing, the new Sonos app has been updated and a sleep timer has been re-introduced.It has been encouraging to see the Audible integration support chapter navigation. I’m hopeful that other integrations where chapter navigation makes sense (e.g. PocketCasts handling podcasts that are support chapter navigation). The sleep options currently extend to - 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 1 hour and 2 hours. Additional options for Custom (where the user can choose any number of minutes) and End of Chapter (which would only be available if an audiobook/podcast is playing) would be highly appreciated.I recognise have requested custom sleep timers before (6 years ago) but hope the statute of limitations on asking the same question a second time has passed. If anyone from Sonos reviews this and would be willing to reply I would be grateful to know.are these additional options for sleep timers in your roadmap for your new app? are there any plans to add chapter navigation to the podcast
Being the owner of an audio video company in Southern California we prefer to use sonos equipment because of the reliability and ease of use, however all that is gone with just one update please bring back the old sonos app. We are already in the process of finding alternative audio equipment to replace sonos I am not the only one most of the AV companies that I talk to are doing the same thing. This is a huge disservice to all of the sonos customers that spent a lot of money on their equipment and now have to relearn how to use it also have to pay AV intagreaters to come out and reset up their systems that were working perfectly. SONOS PLEASEBRING BACK THE S2 APP!!!!!!!
What has happened to the Sonos Development Team? The new version killed the complete comfort! No waking up feature !! No connection to Spotify !! No suitable speaker groups !! What did they drink during writing the new version? What‘s about Controlling before official release?I strongly hope that a Master Change will come very soon! If not I have to change to another system !!
Dear Sonos,You have rolled out the worst app update ever, absolutely shockingly bad. Have you been hacked? It’s pathetic, sort it out.RegardsVery very angry user, customer. Remember we’re always right!!
Purchased a lot of Sonos products in 2 homes. Recently had a brand new amp installed and it is defective. Went through hours waiting on phone for technical support, finally connected with them, diagnosed it and confirmed it was defective after almost another hour on the phone. Agree to send me a new amp, charge my credit card and they will credit me when I return it. OK fine Just received the replacement amp and it is a refurbished amp. So I get a refurbished amp for a defective new unit I just purchased. Trying to resolve and email response says it may take 2-3 days. Might want to think twice about your options when choosing a supplier.
When did we - as customers of Sonos - become employees in their Technology department? There are so many issues plaguing this product recently that we are expected to solve ourselves:Audio skipsUnable to join existing Sonos systemError 913 for Windowsetc. etc.Despite following all the suggestions proposed by Sonos, nothing fixes these issues. Also, god bless all the techies that join the community chat but most of us - I would guess - are not that tech inclined (re-routing, add a new path, etc.) and cannot implement the suggested tech tips.Since when did we become Sonos tech employees expected to solve our own problems each time this company rolls out a software update that meeses up a system that seemed to be working perfectly well before said update?Unfortunately I’ve already invested in a bunch of their products (when they used to work) and now am held hostage hoping that the next update will solve the issues they created with the previous update.I have never experience such a busine
Since the catastrophic release of the “new and improved” app, we have seen less and less engagement from the Sonos staff who “look after’ this forum. @Mike R H @Corry P @Jamie A @Sotiris C. - we get this is not your doing, and you have been placed in the difficult position of dealing with an angry tirade of problems that you cant do anything about. I am sure much of your job satisfaction comes from solving problems, and currently you cant do that.I also understand that you are conflicted, with a Management team who clearly are not putting customers first, it is unlikely they are going to be sympathetic to you if you stray from the ‘party line’.I hasnt gone unnoticed that your engagement with the community has dropped dramatically, some of you have not posted or replied for as much as 10 days, others more recently but much less than we might expect. And I am sure thats because you dont really have much to say. Other than moderating the language and shutting down the ‘sue the
I saw a note that said something likealarms by late May queue management by Juneanyone have this list? I’m guessing these are new releases in Jira.
So I’ve sorted my previous issue regarding loss of sound and lagging.when I want to play an lp I have to open the Sonos app, click on line in, press play, open up the system icon, put a tick in the box next to soundbar and then apply. Is that normal? Is there a way of having that ticked by default so that you don’t have to keep doing it? There are 2 things when the system is opened up - one I assume is the port, the other the sound bar. It just seems very long winded .Thabks
I've emailed the ceo email twice with a specific question about pocketcasts being broken in the new app. Each time they have taken days to reply, buit all that came back was the exact same copy and paste email about taking feedback seriously and outlining the update roadmap. Nothing at all about the content of my email. Is this everyone else’s experience too? Why wait days if the response will be the same as an ‘out of office’ auto-responder would do. This all just adds to the impression of tone-deaf arrogance. I’m happy to wait for a response, but at least make it nominally relevant.
Just received an e-mail asking me to part with £440 for the new headphones. When my entire Sonos sound system is barely functional thanks to the new app. Is this company for real?
For over a year I have been escalating repeatedly that my Sonos Controller App on my Mac no longer would automatically update. Instead I had to uninstall my Sonos app on my Mac and reinstall it and then reconnect my Music Library. Then and only then it would index my library with the current changes I made adding music and new playlists.Earlier in the week when I installed the new mobile App and tried to play music it couldn’t find my music I had played the day before because it wasn’t connected. I went to my Mac and opened the Sonos Controller App and to my surprise it apparently updated automatically when it had disconnected after downloading the new Mobile App. I was truly impressed that Sonos actually had responded and fixed the problem of automatic updates on macOS versions beginning with Ventura and still was an issue with Sonoma. While the process was annoying and took extra time to index the entire library rather than just adding the changes, it was simple enough. But I was
Seriously guys, what have you done?No way is it stable.Navigation is terrible.A lot of the old features are missing.it looks like a half baked attempt at the Apple Music UI.You’ve made an average app a terrible app.I’d recommend pushing the old version until you’ve sorted this one out.
WHEN WILL THE DISASTER OF THE UPGRADE BE PUT RIGHT?
How can you disable the ads being displayed on the Sonos app? The x does nothing. Just prompts a banner to order them, How do I get rid of it? Ads on a app, please get rid of it.
Sonos straight up sucks a**! You literally can’t do anything with this new app!!!!! Change volume? Nope, search for music? Change speaker config? Nope! Nothing!!! yet the CEO who clearly is in way over his head, just denies it and tells his customers that they are too stupid and don’t realize what they have! Typical uneducated liberal elitist! He clearly is too stupid for him to hold his position, which is why the company has tanked under his “ leadership”!!!! stay away from Sonos, it sucks and is way overpriced!!!
