Warning, there’s a new firmware update available 16.2 or maybe it’s 80.00.xx

If you don’t have auto updates turned off now would be the time if you don’t want to risk it, especially if you are still on 16.1

If you update please let us know the good/bad.

Hi, I have an Arc and 2 X Ones with a Gen 3 Sub.

Have updated to 16.2

In the EQ section of the App, the L R Balance isn't working and the loudness toggle isn't either - any suggestions? Having the balance working would be so helpful  Tks

Which App version are you using? The new 80.xx or the old 16.1 one?

Hi, many thanks for your post.

I am using:

16.2

Sonos OS: S2

Build: 80.00.04

This is about the Sonos firmware, right?
But what about the controller (mobile app) version you are using - is it the latest and “greatest” 80.00.xx or the old 16.1?
Or are you using the desktop controller app?

Thanks!

Hi, sorry!

The Mobile App (for iPhone) is 80.00.08

Thanks!

I wish I had seen this thread before I upgraded, 16.2 is truly awful. I am no longer able to add my music as I cannot add a Music Library. That is bad enough, but the worst thing is that my TV Playbase no longer plays audio from my TV. As good as Sonos is when it’s working, the hassle it causes when the controller is upgraded makes me wish I had never purchased their products.

I risked the firmware upgrade to v16.2 and now using the latest Sonos app v80.x.x the audio output always wants to default to my Beam in the bedroom, if I select my Era speakers only in the living room then at the bottom of the app it’s still set to the Beam in the bedroom and it changes itself back as well in the output setting. So only wants to default speaker output to my Beam regardless of me changing it.

crap firmware and app now 😤

Yes Corky123, V80 app downloaded to my iPad and SONOS 2 on my desktop Mac Mini auto updated to 16.2. System now defaults to my “Back Bedroom” Play1s, I have to then group that room with the room I want the music to play in but then inexplicably the system will default back to the “Back Bedroom”. As far as I recall The “Back Bedroom” was the only room I was playing music in at the time of the V80 update, seems too much of a coincidence that this is the room the system now keeps defaulting to. Was it the same with your Beam in the Bedroom?

Not that all this matters much, because with V16.2 on my Mac SONOS can”t access my music library and if I try to point it in the right direction I just get Error 913!!!!!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE fix all this debacle SONOS if you are awake and reading this!!!

I have updated the iOS app to 80.02.04 and the firmware to 16.2. The result is a reversion to default sound settings (EQ, Sub, Surround etc) instead of my previous preferences. Also, when starting the app the next day Speech Enhancement is set to OFF instead of ON which it was the last time I used the app.

There is something seriously wrong with the software development process. Any decent regression testing would expose this sort of issue.

Safe to assume the aren’t doing any or enough testing TBH.
